Spoilers: It starts around 9:00. Here’s my own summary....
    1. Live with integrity - Liars don’t heal. People who deliberately says something to hurt others, people who blame others for their problems, etc won’t heal. Make the decision to live a life with integrity.
    2. Don’t pass on your suffering, pass on the wisdom you learn - life will never be fair. Look at what happens to you and say that it will never defeat you. Turn into your source of wisdom. Don’t live in woe. Wisdom or woe.
    3. The choice to take risks. Don’t wait for proof. Take risks. You will always hit the regret stage when you begin to weaken. How many of your greatest fears has actually happened? How many of the most wonderful things has happened to you?Don’t take the safe path. Don’t look backwards for guidance. Don’t look for over to chart new.
    4. Choose new words - Words are powerful. Don’t use the words entitled, blame and deserve.
    5. Choose to get up every single day and bless your day - not based on what you have or what you feel, just be grateful because you are. Everything that happens today in this exact way will not happen again. Be thankful for the day and present moment.
PS: She’s amazing and I encourage watching the whole talk but hope this helps if you’re in a hurry or just want the gist as a reminder ♥️

The first five minutes may not be essential to most, but for me and perhaps some others, those first minutes gave me life and I especially loved the idea that the choices we may see as small may have the most impact in our lives. "Little" choices matter. We have to train ourselves to choose the right things.

Im sitting at home in bed with a cold, feeling down and regretful for the life i could of had. And realizing all of the amazing things that happend to me, i had nothing to do with them. From beeing adopted as a baby, and having all i ever wanted in life. It was all done for me. And here i am sitting here feeling sorry for myself? Thank you. This was just in time. I never truly understood it when I hear people say, "live each day like it's your last day," or something along that line. Caroline described it so gracefully. It's true; you only get to experience each day once. Sometimes when I'm feeling drained and depressed, I see the day as just another day. Nothing special. Nothing to be grateful for. But now I see that there is a reason to see each day with gratitude and love. The next thing I know, I'm in college, working, or living in a new city. I'm wondering where did all the time go. What happened to those days when I can just call my best friend and talk over coffee. I thought certain people or events will always be there, but things change. I changed. It's not every day that we get to experience the same day every day. And if we feel like each day is just another day, then stop betraying ourselves and putting up a front to please others.

@g quin - No, even labeling them "failures" is not uplifting and does not help us move beyond those experiences. Perhaps thinking of them as stepping stones in life, experiences to learn from and gain a better understanding of life and ourselves, and events or experiences that can lead to something better. The whole idea here is not to look at things in the negative and not to dwell on the past in a negative way. See the growth and the potential in experiences and keep looking forward and moving forward.

I disagree that we are born knowing about choice. We learn about choices, we are not born with instinct lower animal operate on instincts, not human beings we are taught about choices some people still don't know that, for example I don't have a choice, see what I mean, that person never learned about choices.

I've been saying this for years. It came to me as part of my journey and I kept hearing lovers (as they left me) saying they "deserved" this and "deserved" that, and were "entitled" to this, "entitled" to that. And they were bolstered and validated by dozens and dozens of books, podcasts, TH-cam presentations, and more, extolling how we "deserve" this and "deserve" that. "Get the Love/Life/Money/etc. you DESERVE!" OMG! It's a frackin' EPIDEMIC that sets us ALL up for failure. WE DO NOT DESERVE ANYTHING. We are not "entitled" to anything. This is separate from gratitude and loving self, life, and others and acting in truth and with love, dignity, integrity, honor and more. We can savor every moment. We can see ourselves and the world. We can use our powers of choice, consciousness, grace, clarity, truth and being true to ourselves. We can share and practice empathy. Right ON, Caroline!

The Quakers taught me about the mystical side of religion but Carolyn added depth and wisdom to that understanding. I start each day with a prayer of gratitude inspired by Caroline and Maurene St Germain (who calls herself the practice mystic). "Lord, thank you for another opportunity to co-create a day of Heaven on Earth and share it with all who cross my path". Thank you Caroline for all your wisdon, support and guidance.

I didn’t take how seriously words affect your mental state until I was so frozen in anxiety and panic attacks. After months of meditation, my mind no longer fill with negative words. Now it just sings. Like if I was having a bad day, my head plays a song that reflects my mood. When I meditate and calm down, my head plays the Christian song, “it is well”. It’s lots of other songs my head plays and I realize the songs reflect my mood. It’s a much kinder and gentler way to communicate with myself. Stop the negative words in their steps, forgive yourself and try again.

What she said in the beginning was that this was a compilation of 30.5 yrs of her observations, condensed to 25 minutes. When she speaks about past traumas she doesn't discount them at all. She talks about grief, pain, suffering & the horrendous things people have to heal from. She talks about healing process. It was a 25 talk on vast amounts of info, VERY condensed.
Of course it takes time. And she says we never forget, move forward and heal. Life is in the now. Following a spiritual path that is an important part of it. Daily goal. Not perfection. In order to have the capacity to live in the moment, healing, connection to true self, & Source are all a part of it.
My "philosophy" - take what you want & leave the rest. If you don't like, there are buttons for that. She asks in the beginning, to see if what she says sits with you like chicken soup. This was a suggestion. There was nothing being rammed down anyone's throat.
Scary? Have you seen what is on youtube & fb 24/7. Lol.

The painful process of grief brings one to a fruitful valley…brings up injustice what happened to your soul, but forgiveness sets you free and you get up every morning praising god for a wonderful day, thank you for sharing and wearing the beautiful butterfly shirt, it means freedom🦋❤🎉

I don't have a great word to describe my feeling about this speech. I have been doing exactly what she said for years. People around me criticise me all about my thoughts, and choices, even including my parents. However, there is a voice deep in my mind telling me to follow my own rules. At very beginning, i don't have enough confidence to follow my heart and my decision. Later on, time proved that what I have done are the right things. Therefore, I became more and more blessed and happier. Now, this speech summary what I have done are absolutely correct. Thank you .

Circa 1996 I attend Ed one of your last workshops. You made a sharp remar that I couldn't respond to at that workshop you were suffering with a cold I sent loving energy and didn't think more of it. At night we had Mongolian food. I was serving myself at the food bar and you came by and said to me thanks for the energy. That smallr remark I impressed me because I didn't really know that energy I sent reached their target. Now I know for a fact that sending blessings help

Funny enough my sister said to me that in her therapy sessions my name is used a lot. It was a wake up call for me as I realised I had made judgments on her and was not even aware of! Our words can effect people, be quick to think and slow to speak …. I now choose my words carefully, this ted talks is priceless. The symbol of a butterfly has always been a sign that my angels are watching over me. 🦋🦋

I especially love the ending. Putting gratefulness into that kind of perspective grounded me like nothing has ever before. I've always heard the phrase "live like it's your last day"; but when you truly think about the uniqueness of every single moment, even the moments that seem routine or mundane, its gives you such a deep sense of 'wow'. No moment will be like this very moment. Every moment will pass and never come again, and tomorrow I will be a day older and experience moments I have never and will never experience again. This really hit me. This was a great tedtalk.
