Thank you for posting this! This brings back serious memories! The high school I went to is right off the M line. Back then, the M was 100% R-42 sets. I would always look out the front/railfan window on my way to school and on my way back home. I miss those views.

Very unique!! My father used to ride the r42's to work. For a classic train still in revenue service it's very clean!

The Shuttle brings back some bitter memories when I was somewhat a bad boy in school. I used to have to travel from Springfield Gardens to Maspeth, to what was known then as a 600 numbered school. A school for troubled youth's. The teachers were actually police officers with teaching credentials. We had to report into school at 0600 Monday through Friday and would not get out until 1730. Upon entering the main entrance we were searched for weapons and other contraband items. I graduated top of the class and went straight on to high school, Andrew Jackson in St. Albans. Others in my class also made the top of the list went on in life with remarkable results. Very good video, DJ Hammer! :o)

Sportsfreak: White kids do get into trouble, my offense back at that time was I called a Black teacher the "N" word, that is what got me send to the P.S. 600 numbered school, and yes we got searched when came to school. You should never judge anyone young man, and you certainly think before you speak out of term, I learned my lesson well, it keep me out reform school.

we're just going to ignore the fact that trains run on the left in stead of the right...
There are no switches along most of the Myrtle Avenue Line, so the only way to run a shuttle like this is to use a single track

Brian R I meant when the train leaves brooklyn its usually on the right hand side and leaving Metropolitan Ave it’s usually on the right hand side, like driving in the streets, you’re usually/always on the right hand side.

I'm so confused why the M is a shuttle
Starting on September 2, a part of the M is a shuttle due to construction. There is currently no M connection from Mytle Ave to Myrtle Wyckoff Ave. A shuttle bus replaces the M route. So currently the M is two different lines. A short shuttle route and an extend route to Broadway Junction
