You can tell that is a new video by looking at the tower that took the place of Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburg on Havemeyer Street. It was not there before during the pandemic, and it was not finished when I visited there last year in 2023. Now it looks completed. Great video, keep it up!
But it’s a severe bottleneck. Converting Myrtle Ave to a bi-level express station would increase capacity. Also, if the line became a 4-track line until Chambers St, the J and M could run completely de-interlined. The only problem other than the cost is space across the el but it would definitely be able to increase train capacity. Also this would result in lane reduction on the Williamsburg Bridge but it wouldn’t be much of an issue with congestion pricing.
Us Americans could really learn a lot from Japan, their Metro system is so much more cleaner; we have got to treat our transportation systems better as patrons and also invest more into the cleaning and upkeep of our systems.
On It's return trip to Queens from the 6th Ave line enters Essex Street and continues over the Williamsburg Bridge via the Broadway (J, Z) line where at Myrtle Ave returns to the Myrtle Ave line to Metropolitan Ave Destination.
1:00:57 That interlocking is beautiful. I think that's the only outdoor crossing at grade in the system. 1:01:51 Above and then merging in from the sides is the original Myrtle Avenue El. Originally, Southbound trains out of Metropolitan could continue further South, flying over the existing J line. I believe remnants of the tower are there too.
Yeah. Ride the flyover at E 180th St, and squeal through the curve at 149th St- Grand Concourse ! And do that stupid grade crossing at Rogers Ave to get to the Nostrand Ave Line. Aarre Peltomaa
Excellent work on this M train video to Metropolitan Avenue-Middle Village Welcome To An Experience! I've been on the M train to Flushing Avenue to find Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles, and they didn't have it! And I even had lunch at Burger King by the Flushing Avenue J, and M train station!
This was long waited for 😅, and I noticed the same introduction music on the previous M train video 🔥. Btw who else noticed the queenslink provision before pulling into 63dr rego park station 🤔
I use to ride the Brown (M) train in 2008 at rode it from Middle Village to 36 st where my home was and i used to take pictures with the R42 good times thx you for this veido
1:01:06 This is one of the two level junctions in the system which trains in each direction on different branches cross over each other, the other one being 135th St on the Lenox Ave Line. These bottlenecks are a real problem and have to be modified into flying junctions, just like what was done at Belmont in Chicago. If the Myrtle Ave Junction was to become a flying junction, the upper level should be restored but parallel to the lower level so that each branch can start from a different level. This would also be a chance to completely de-interline the J and M and restore the latter’s brown designation by transforming the entire line west of here into a 4-track line and restore Canal St and Bowery’s abandoned northbound platforms. The only disadvantages would be the elimination of popular direct services onto the Sixth Ave Line and lane reduction on the Williamsburg Bridge but de-interlining and eliminating bottlenecks would increase train capacity and allow them to run faster and more efficiently.
Looks like somebody's taking it easy going into 63rd Drive station southbound. It is a fast station. However, keep it wrapped until you get halfway on the hill. When you start to go down, maybe about a foot or two On the top of the hill, you're gonna knock it off in coast almost to min break when you get into the station. Take a full service break for bout 5-10 seconds to slow your train down, then pull up to the marker. When in doubt, do the rookie roll, and take it slow!!
As a Moscow metro driver on the 1 line I don’t get how your subway is so dirty Even the tunnels I been to New York and been to the cab a few times It’s horrible Also the intrervals between trains are insane The orange line in NY has 3 ways it goes Why can’t it be a 1 line ?? No way I found it! This was the train my Grandmother and I would always take! The station we would start in was Seneca Avenue! At the end of the video, the train stop at the last station. That station would lead you to a Toy R Us we would visit time to time. Sadly it’s gone due to their issues back in 2019. One day I’ll go on this train again.
Watching in South Africa I really enjoy THESE train videos the interested part is that these American trains they go through underground long train tracks in my country we don't have something like these I really wanna experience these train underground.kagiso from south Africa

I Rode In The R42 On The M Train. Good Old Days. Thank You For The Full Ride.
The R42 was awesome on the M train.
I remember riding the old R40A slants on the M-train, back in the mid-90s.
Rode this train many times from Metropolitan Avenue in the 50's and 60's. Wicker seats, open windows and ceiling fans. Fun times as a kid.
Same man
I loved the r42s and r40s they were amazing to ride as a kid 😊❤
Another excellent front view video, thanks.
Thanks!
Gratitude for your support 🫡
Amazing coverage. The M train reminds me of the song "I'll be working my way back to you babe". That's because it starts in Queens and ends in Queens.
Word lol
Literally only about three miles apart.

New York is just like that sadly, people do not care at all to keep the trains clean.
Let’s help New Yorkers fight for the environment. ♻️🌹🌸✨💐🌺💫
Heh, NYC is a tad too preoccupied trying to deal with the surrge of illegal migrants they let in to care if their subways are taken care of.
Our infrastructure and history is completely different.

Try doing the 1 Train to Rector Street during a weekend G.O so we can see the old south ferry loop's front view.
Almost the end of summer. Nice for you to record this video including in Brooklyn! : )
Looking forward to your Bronx to Brooklyn 5 train video!

A jungle! I would have never known... Thank you. Lots of trees grow in Queens!
Pretty soon, at today's reality, they'll be popping up as Cannabis Sativa pretty soon . 🙃 Aarre Peltomaa
Amazing video
I've never seen track workers hitch a ride like that. 48:52
OMG @1:04:12. It's that Jim Henson muppets chilling outside of Brooklyn, New York? Wow. Nice art. : )
Ahhh 😌 just the video I was waiting for 🙏🏽 thank you ☺️
been waiting on this line and direction, let's gooo 🎉
One of the routes I wanted to see!!!
Great video. I miss my home town!
Great video!
Thank you for this ;)
I just want to say that I enjoy your video. Keep great work with your video!
good run to metro
I've never realized how close (and briefly visible from the front car at 40:50) 2nd Ave is to the split that leads the M to Bowery.
I love the way the propulsion sounds it has the somewhat GE motors transmission
This is almost a circular route almost like the subwaysin Glasgow that has two concentric tracks each going in either direction.
The 2 terminals are very close to each other.less than 3 miles apart

27:19-This station looks like ones here in Toronto.
I rode the train when I was a kid but back then the m train went to Coney Island during the weekdays
R27/30s were assigned to the route at that time.
At 48:50 did those workers get on the train?
💯🫡
1:13:03 LMAO at the useless bit of fence, complete with barbed wire. Reminds me of a certain other bit of a “barrier” some way south of here.
Now we just need the 5 Bronx express train to Flatbush Ave
I agree!
apparently you forgot about the times square -grand central shuttle
The only nyc train to Have one Borough as its last stop 2-way(almost)

Notice the space on 3:39-5:01-6:08-9:45 and the switch at 18:32 past 36st station going towards the left where does that go?
At 18:32 I believe that’s the F via 63 St
We haven't seen the new N trains or Z trains, or the 42nd Street Shuttle POVs, and that should be in one video since its a short ride back to back

@58:15 while the track is straight, there is still emergency rails in the middle? In case it derails?
i think this might be the route with the most track switches!!
Damn so Queens Blvd is ATO from Continental to B1 track split?

can you do the W train to Whitehall St - South Ferry please?
How do you do this I’m curious
I live in forest hills,if I take the m to middle village it will take 1 hour or more,I rather take the bus instead of the train.
@1:00:20 They should really build a flyover at this junction...
When will you do the N train on it's normal route?

Why are there still multiple wayside signals at Roosevelt Ave?
This line now CBTC signal system?
The QBL is CBTC-ATO enabled from 50th and 8th to Kew Gardens.
Though this video footage is at least a year old, when it was just CBTC enabled.
5:08 can anyone explain if its like a old part to the station or what is that gap before the train approaches this station
Gaps were "local track provisions for conversion to express station" according to the map I have.

If no one talk how m train go from forest hill to 74th broadway there soo many train in the opposite side going to forest hill 71th st
When was this filmed
🤕
Are these videos recent? Because I keep seeing people wearing masks from pandemic times.
one of the worst trains in the system imo but the Myrtle Avenue part makes it better
It’s not,the j and z is,the stations are ugly
@@ManuelaAuzit the j is mad useful but I agree with the Z
the M stations aren’t any better
Do you REALLY need the “music” track on your video?
🤔 Sure. Why not?
@@wtaenyc Because it masks the sounds of the train, it is distracting, and it is in poor taste.
