  • The J is a rapid transit service in the B Division of the New York City Subway. The J operates at all times and uses the entire BMT Archer Avenue, Jamaica, and Nassau Street lines between Jamaica Center - Parsons/Archer in Jamaica, Queens and Broad Street in Lower Manhattan (via the Williamsburg Bridge between Brooklyn and Manhattan). On weekdays, trains run express in the peak direction in Brooklyn between Myrtle Avenue and Marcy Avenue, bypassing three stations.

So glad to see R32s still going strong at 51-52 years old - even with the GOH rebuilds they are 30-31 years old!! And R42s too!! Great video with great, driving score!

When I was living there, the M would continue past broad st and cross back under the tunnel into brooklyn: following the B down New Utrecht for a bit for awhile and terminating at Bay Parkway. made my trips going from aunts in Williamsburg to Home in Bensonhurst super convenient!!

At many locations all across the system there are tunnels that are not used for transporting people. They allow you to move a train from one line's track to another. sometimes these tunnels are used when a line is rerouted to another line, for example sometimes 4 and 5 trains get rerouted to 7th ave when work is being done or an accident occurs.

+hockeyboss 689 A few stations could use some work, but many others are pretty nice looking. The R32s themselves can hold up for many more years.

    How come there’s no skip-stop?

    • @crescent_nyct8143

These two runs were most likely after all 6 scheduled (Z) trains have left Broad Street and or Jamaica Center during their respective rush hour periods, which means Skip-Stop service has ended. All remaining (J) trains continue to run via Jamaica Express and then Local for the rest of the route.
