Nice work guy's was awesome to see you having a good time. Just passing it along how I ruined my first motor build. I started it in the truck and ran it for a few minutes without headers or exhaust manifolds. I ended up burning a bunch of valves on brand new machined heads. It was on a 428 Ford Cobra Jet cost me about $900 to fix my little fun time. Later on I got into track stuff we would paint our exhaust and where the paint stops burning off is where you cut for your shortest length of exhaust you can run without burning valves. Hope it helps someone out there. Keep it up awesome work!

Just a heads up. Your engine stand is not assembled correctly. It's leaning forward because you have the arm facing the wrong way. Do a 180 with it. It's made to angle back so when the weight of the motor of it is attached the engine will sit level.... Just looking out bro!

This is a good way to warp the exhaust valves!!! Engines have exhaust systems in place for many reasons. Exhaust valve warping IS one of them. Even Top Fuel dragsters have short open pipes. Running any 4 cycle engine without exhaust pipes is a bad idea.....

Thomas Miata, you don't fix your $49.99 Harbor Freight 750 lbs engine stand, you just buy the $130 one which has 4 points of contact and is meant for large engines. I have one and it holds Duramaxes fully equipped and doesn't bend. I wouldn't trust that engine stand of yours to hold anything bigger than a 2.0L inline 4 engine, yet trying to start and rev a V8.
sketchy life is the best life :) but I have been putting v8s on that stand since i bought it.. yes it is sketchy but I have since reinforced it (for free). It has never let me down yet. And I have dropped engines before with other equipment lol

And it only needs to happen once, and it will do it with no precautions. 600 lbs metal brick with sharp protruding parts falling from 3 feet. When it will let you down, if you're unlucky and happen to be near it, you may end up permanently incapacitated or end up with a $80K hospital bill, or both. All because trying to save $80. I may have watched too many industrial accidents on TH-cam.
Sorry, I have never done a swap with a 5.7 hemi. Wouldn’t have the first clue on how to get that computer to allow the engine to run without the key security components. I recommend asking around locally at a car show or checking google for dodge performance shops near you.
Does wrapping all the pinks together bypass vats? Or is that just one thing you can't get around. Mine only runs for maybe 1 second. But I had it running and drove it a couple times, but now it will only run for .5 seconds.
For anyone that might read this, I tried it and it didn't help. VATS is your enemy! Lol. Just spend the money and get it flashed out. The Pink wires.... Idk seems unnecessary
@@away2619 in the video I mention that I am using a Vats disabled ecu. The pinks all together are for receiving 12+ to the individual components running the engine. HPTuners cable was used for removing vats.
I Believe what I have is a switch with a 30 am fuse powering a fuse block that has 2 10 amp outputs and 2 15 amp. I split them up evenly while trying to keep the injectors, coil packs, O2 sensors on their own, then put the rest to the last one. Not super professional, but it worked. I then switched to the Holly Terminator X ECU and wired that according to their directions.
So I've missed out on a few of these lately but there is a rare Miata chassis car out there that no one knows about.. they're going for 1500 these days but I have a feeling they're hidden gems. The Ford Probe. They only made the for about 9 years. And they are estimating about 720 left registered on the road.
Absolutely. This setup was put in a car and ran with 8psi of boost for a dyno run and 2 drift days. Somehow it got a screwdriver head inside the intake (previous owner maybe didn’t like my lowball price and glued metal inside the intake I used) and ate a piston. Currently have the same harness powering a 6.0 lq9 with 8psi on the car.

u forgot to rig a ratiator system and exhausted system. heat created in the combustion chamber can melt pistons to cylinder walls and warp aluminum heads.

I use random bolts in a big box I have in my garage. We call it the "Nutz Box" lol. I wouldn't be too worried about what grade you use. Just make sure the bolt is long enough.
The proper size for an LS is M10x1.5. The length of the bolt will depend on your engine stand - you want around 15-20mm of thread engagement from each bolt. DON’T make the mistake that many people make and use a standard bolt. This will bungle the threads, especially on an aluminum block.
Vats is removed using hptuners or mailing it to someone who can do it. I don't have an additional video showing what wires are needed vs what's not. But lt1swap.com has all that info and they can remove vats too.

Faustino Quiroz hello. Starting the engine requires the removal of VATS using a tuning software. Then you splice all the pink and orange wires to 12v and the blacks to ground

Say bro you know that noise the starter was making when you were trying to start it? I have my motor in my car and trying to run it like on the stand then connect the rest of the wires... My problem is when I touch the wire for start it just makes that whirling sound do you know what I could be doing wrong?
Thomas Miata bro I literally just put on a new starter. It is the original wire running from starter to junction block and alternator but I cut the part that goes to the battery cause mine is on the passenger side and I ran a longer battery cable from that junction block to battery.
Young Gunn yes, sometimes the solenoid needs a few hits of power to get it going. You may want to look up how to jump a starter to make sure that you are 100% on the correct posts

Look at your stand box or online, you assembled it backwards. Engines should be slightly pointing up, not down. I noticed yours is pointing down like when my buddy assembled his, and it was a PITA to mount a 4 banger on it. Once we flipped it around it was much easier to rotate, remove and install the motor.

Thx, and.. Every single pink that you need to power is located on the 1 fuse block connector. There are a couple other smaller connectors that you do not need to worry about unless you are doing things like running a tach wire, etc. Please please please visit lt1swap.com/ and make sure you read up on your specific harness. There are differences for truck/car/year/etc.

I have never used the entire fuse box before and have only ever wired engine harnesses in race cars, so we cut out as much as we can I guess.

I believe it’s a 5/16 fuel line and yes.. just jam it on and hose clamp it after the bump in the hardline where the “quick connect” would grab

You might have to get the ECU VATS removed before it will run. Vats (theft system) kills the injectors to work.

What size bolt do you use to hold the engine to the engine stand and what grade should I go with?

Young Gunn likely that your starter is not pushing the gear out. You may need a stronger battery, better cables, or maybe the starter is bad.

The trick mainly is to remove the vats programming from the ecu using tuning software like hptuners

Look at your stand box or online, you assembled it backwards. Engines should be slightly pointing up, not down. I noticed yours is pointing down like when my buddy assembled his, and it was a PITA to mount a 4 banger on it. Once we flipped it around it was much easier to rotate, remove and install the motor.

You will need to unlock it using hptuners. People can also remotely unlock it for you so it will run outside of the vehicle.

Every single pink that you need to power is located on the 1 fuse block connector. There are a couple other smaller connectors that you do not need to worry about unless you are doing things like running a tach wire, etc.
