love the vid. thanks. now for my question lol. I'm running a 6.0 in a elcamino and wanted to keep the AC do you have any suggestions on which pulleys I'll need because I have to move compressor to top
Your install on the truck looks great….i gotta LSA kit from boost district that was setup for the trucks too and put it on the LS3 headed 370” LQ9 i put in my nova when i pulled the pevious 5.3 i had in there……i love it
Yeah i have a similar setup on my truck. I didn’t build the motor but i got the build sheet that says it’s bored .030 over and it also has the ls3 heads with a nice cam. Looking into LSA just for a nice daily boosted truck
Great video! I think I have the same alternator and PS bracket. I'll be drilling holes and adding the idler like you did. What size injectors are you running? I have 50lb and I don't think they will be enough.
So I built a 6.0. All the internals are brand new. I may have put 100 miles on the motor. When I put it together I didn't gap the rings. Rings are all .018 gap. I don't plan on racing it. It's really just a show car. 81 Trans-am. Should I be concerned about gapping the rings with the addition of a LSA
Very clean looking budget build brother!!! Amazing work and killer job on that engine bay. I am almost finished with my max effort lsa build and she is gonna make some steam!!! Excited to start tuning next week!
Where are you located? If I'm somewhat near would you do this work for a customer? Not sure if you have a shop or just your personal toys. Just came across your videos. Awesome work!!
dig you videos man. could use a bit of help tho. I have a LS3 that I would like to add a cost-efficient super charger to, but getting a lot of run around. No idea what I'm doing or what I need to buy. Any help you can offer. Oh and BOOSTED DISTRICT was absolutely no help.
I always wanted a supercharged daily driver. I’ve got a 02 Camaro SS but I’ve learned that supercharging these cars is very difficult mainly because you must clear the crowl or cut through it. But I’m having trouble understanding exactly what is required to clear the crowl. Texas speed sells a kit that includes “fabrication to be welded in” but theoretically couldn’t I just make the fabrication myself and save the 8k that the kit costs? I just want 450 HP and supercharger whine :(
I have a 6.0 installed and running but leaning towards a super charger on my 86 c10 love to have your input on this oh yeah whipple charger I'm looking give me your thoughts
Hi I'm doing a ls swap in a 86 monte carlo ss 5.3 everything stock came out 2003 tahoe want to go with supercharger charger can you send me that hold setup cause I like what you did on the truck please
The Olson works adapters are made from a phelonic material which is really good at separating surfaces and temps. Aluminum heat soaks and does so quickly, so a barrier that can be easily had is a spacer made of a different material. The aluminum ones work and function just fine but if your looking to cut temps anywhere you can that is one area to help do so
Are porting heads with adapters a waste? I’m 5.7 so I have no hopes of square port heads and my cathedrals are already ported. Just wondering if I’m losing gains and would be better off selling and using stock
Any idea where to find adapters for the supercharger found on the 4.4L V8 Supercharged Cadillac (STS-V / XLR-V)? I saw one site but they were asking some ridiculous amount of money. (almost $2,000)
@@bnmperformancefab alright, I was just curious because there are whipples made for the 5.3 Vortec but not for the LS1 and I the Whipples look a lot cleaner in my opinion and I've tossed the idea around of putting a built LS1 in my Rx8
You gotta be kiddin...............great video. I have a 6.0L LS iron fully frged 390ci in my 1998 Trans Am WS6. Been asking everywhere how do I get the belts to line up with these superchargers. Nobody can really give me an answer. Does this also apply to the new Magnuson TVS2650. Mainly the front end acessory drive....?
I’m not 100% certain on the magnuson, what I would do is check and see what belt system they work with and that’ll tell you roughly what factory belt system might be able to be modified to work with it
It would depends on goals for the vehicle. In my truck I’m running a stock cam currently, if I upgrade I wouldn’t go to big or rad as drivability and keep the “tame” aspect is more what I’m aiming for
Yea since those are square or rec port heads it’ll bolt right up. You’ll have to knock the alignment dowel off the Bottum of the blower and get a drive for the blower but it will bolt on
I’ve always done .030-028 on top ring and .028-.026 on second ring Personally I always go on the larger side. As long as the cylinder walls are clean hone you won’t have any blow by issues
Personally it would depend on cost, I’d almost prefer a 6.0 just to have a stronger cylinder wall as the 6.2 is a little thinner and has common cracking cylinder issues
If you get a 6.0 iron block you can bore the block out and put in bigger forged pistons and put ls3 style rectangle port aluminum heads and you will essentially have a 6.2. That’s what i have in my truck
On the LY6 it’s got square port heads already so it would bolt right up, there is a dowel pin on the blower that would need removed but other than that bam. Aside from figuring out belt routing ext
I get that, whats the water temp in the cooler after being under the hood running? The coolant from the heater hose would only be around 180. With no fan on the cooler box the water prob gets close to coolant temp since its going through the core bolted inside of the intake @@bnmperformancefab

Yes you should be concerned. That is too tight, it’ll run, however it could easily crack ringlands with that tight of a gap
Change that gap and do it correct
how much did it roughly cost you for a fresh block? 😅asking for myself
Any boost whether turbo or super, it needs it otherwise you can cause engine carnage

Would something like those adapter plates work for putting a Whipple for a 5.3 on an LS1?

@ are there any supporting mods i should do so the motor doesn’t blow?
can you please give me the part list of the belt drive system
Not really a part number, it is a truck belt system that move the alternator over to the driver side more giving room for the throttle body
Do you have any data on how long the engine will last without lowered compression?
No need for lower compression, 4.8s don’t have that high of compression so not to big of a deal.
