Oooo, I love the black leather chair! It looks like coziest nook over there! I hope you keep it! Regarding the chair that has been clawed up, I recently had a conversation with an upholsterer. She told me that cats dislike velvet and will not claw it. I think is probably the most valuable information for cat owners!

@@sundoesshine8583 And if you're worried about scratching it, wrap it in a plastic tarp first - makes it slip around the bend better. I really think if you got rid of the small chair and moved out the black leather on the diagonal it does go in the living room. The sofa maybe moved over just a couple of inches and a throw to tone down the black on the chair
Love the updates! You’ve quickly become one of my favs on TH-cam now! And agree on mixing up the materials with more chrome and metal to balance out the warm woods. ❤
Re your new/old cigar box and saki set. You could put a piece of fabric (silk, wool....), something with texture, in the box to nestle the saki set in. It would be so pretty and protect the glass. Both are such cool decor items.
The telephone table might be fun standing on it's broadest end (the bit where the lamp is standing), perhaps up against a corner. That way the shelves would be vertical slots - to be used to store spare picture frames and art. That way, the interest of the frames, etc will be pleasurably on view without the need for them to be hung. Just a thought. Cheers.
Let's get LK to 40k!!! You're looking so pretty girl! Great hauls! What a score, that's a Jim Nelson light (George's brother). 😉 How about a basket with a lid or trunk for your blankets?
aw thank you so much! 🤗 LOL jim nelson 😂 I had a basket at my last place and it wasn’t doing it for me. I think I also kind of like them on display but I would totally put them behind closed doors too. I’ll keep thinking!
Im so glad you went with the matching furniture un the bedroom. I love the green throw on the bed. The rug appears more like a dark olive green to me on the video. It might be different in person. Going with green shades in the room is best. The stripes were a little overwhelming as you have them on the window also. Green is a very good colour for sleeping with the dark tones. It looks great ❤
yes :( it’s just too big it overpowers the room and feels obtrusive. I thought about showing you guys but I forgot haha cause that was our next idea! so bummed but honestly it just doesn’t work
Aloha from the PNW! Happy Sunday evening! Re: the telephone table that holds the blankets, have you considered something like a black metal/wrought iron unit? You use black very well in your home’s decor, and the metal would work nicely with the Mediterranean/mid-century modern theme already in the two rooms. Just a thought….😊
Aloha! I love this idea.. I am always on facebook marketplace haha (it’s not as good in SD as it is in LA) so it’s hard to come across something affordable and good but I’ll definitely keep looking and will start thinking about something iron! I was thinking about this for dining chairs actually I thought it would be such a cool vibe there.. thank you for confirming my thoughts haha!
I love everything you’ve done… However, I would KEEP the black chair no matter what! The beauty so outweighs its over size…..to me any way….as long as it’s comfy!
Love the updates, your color choices and generally your decorating aesthetic. I totally agree with your statement about avoiding a boring color palette
Wooden mail holder might work in the bathroom for guest hand towels, would keep the black chair for a while in the lounge, often when you get something new it sort of puts your design off because you are so use to the lighter chair look but I think it's cool, great video, too many interesting things to comment on, I love doing mini refreshes especially for seasons and like you often find a new scheme works even better. Take care.
Love your channel! Great job. I love solid color drapes but I got some patterned ones for my living room and they are awesome. I think that a beautiful patterned curtain would bring your living room to life. Right now, your drapes are blending into your walls making it look bland. I've done it before too. 12:42
Thanks! I have to disagree, I really love the drapes as they’re a creamy canvas color and the walls are more pure white so there’s definitely a contrast. I don’t think at this time I want to add more drama to the walls/windows with louder curtains. I might get another color eventually but for now I really love it!
Love the new vignette of the sketch art+plant+stork! And I'd keep the black leather chair: it's not only stylish but looks too comfortable to get rid of, so would try new positioning or restyling - anything to be able to still have & enjoy it
Hi LK! I really enjoyed this video! It's nice to see whatever you find at garage sales, thrift stores or even new, hear what drew you to the piece & see how you might or have incorporate/d it into your current decor! I'm always drawn to those paper lantern/bubble style lights. And I think the silver metal on the one you got gives the style an elevated look. I also think that oil burner is really cool - I like that you can't tell what it is & it just looks like a neat object!! And finally, girl - you have beautiful hair. I know your always commenting on your frustration w/it - which of course is so relatable! lol! - but it really is very pretty - I like the highlights & the way the cut frames your face! I hope you & your partner & kitties are well!
yes exactly! I think it’s so different when you’re in the space and I definitely tried it. I’ll try it again today but I just think it overpowers the sofa and coffee table too much / there isn’t that much space in here it’s a small place lol
I keep feeling that chair would fit through most doors. Team lift on its side. Pivot midway as you move through the door. Picture the chair rolling around the edge of the wall that holds the door. (I did this with a loveseat by unscrewing the feet of the loveseat and the extra 2 inches helped.)
Yes! We had to do that with the existing chair I have in my office but this one is literally 14 inches bigger and it just would not work we tried for hours :(
Very nice tour. So ya wanna get that chair in the room you showed.. as you were sitting by the window I was trying to estimate the size of the window VS the size of the chair. IMPOSSIBLE 😂 BUT, it looks like a good size opening! I feel bad that you like it so much for that room but can't get it there. Good luck with the measurements and I hope it's possible! Lol, AIR DROP!!!
Take the black leather and lay it on it's side and work it around your door. I had to do that with a table .... laid it in its side and worked it around the door. I had to move a dresser away from the door to get this table in my room for my sewing machine. Clear anything close to your door and scoot that chair in.
You look so pretty - I love the way your hair looks! The living room is looking good. I’m so sorry you can’t get your chair back to your study - bummer! I really like your plaid shams and I like your original blanket on the bed better but I can understand the need to change things up. It was fun looking at your recent updates.
I enjoyed seeing how your home is evolving. Lots of great updates! I definitely like the new arrangement of the LR bookcase better than the previous version, but as always with styling, things change and transform as we acquire new things that push us into a direction we hadn't previously considered. I'm having deja vu. I bought an espresso brown leather club chair for my office that didn't fit down the hallway leading to the office. Luckily, it's a great piece for my living room and has become one of my favorite places to sit. If you really love that chair, (which is a REALLY cool piece) maybe there's a way to incorporate it into your living space. I'd think on it awhile before selling it.
I have a couple Art Deco chrome and black lacquer side tables… you could search and see if you’d like something like that. Also you may want to try velvet upholstery… my understanding is there’s no loops so it will survive cats
You "love that chair", so keep it. It was meant to be. It'll find it's place eventually... If not, give it to me, cause I love it too. Seriously, I sense you'd regret getting rid of it. It's unique & looks really comfy. It does seem to suit you, so let it hang around for awhile.Sometimes I've been too practical and gotten rid of some I liked, only to regret it. No I'm not a hoarder. I suppose my personal space is warm, cozy 'eclectic', definitely not a picture you'd find in an interior design magazine, but I like it! _Thanks for being you_ !
Literally all I was thinking about was how much I love your T-shirt! 😂 It gives me late 80s, early 90s vibes 🙂 Also I think your bookshelf looks great, love when artwork is added like that and layered with the plant👌🏻 I recently got a rubber tree back from a friend looking after it while I moved away for a year….its already perking up-hope it does well!🌱 -also I think that black leather chair somehow works there! I think you should keep it.
Is the chair frame one big piece, or could you take the back off rather than the bottom? Even if you can't have it in the office, I think it would be best to hold onto it a while. One day, you may have a eureka moment and find a way to make it work perfectly in the room it's in now.
Hahaha I wish this house was bigger so I could fit it somewhere in this living room - I’ll think on it a bit more… the chair frame is one piece and there’s some tension wires holding it together and it seems as though the upholstery would need to be undone in order to unscrew the whole chair. I took about 5 bolts out and it didn’t work as the tension wires were keeping the arms on the frame. Didn’t want to totally ruin it.
I love your place, black leather is nice for furniture because you can use so many colors with it to change the look.. I have cigar boxes that I love .. I have made key holders with a couple of them and hung them up in the wall,, just wanted to share …😊
Excellent thrifted treasures. Love the Miller dupe lamp. I’ve been looking for a corner hanging lamp for my artist son daughter in-laws house. This seems perfect. I just became a subscriber - living on the north coast of California 😉
Love it all. The black chair especially. I’ve been lucky enough to live on ground level places so we’ve been able to fit oversized furniture through windows when they wouldn’t fit thru doorways!
The black leather chair has got to fit in there somewhere. It’s really a great chair. Reading nook corner you can make in one of the corners? So glad to see you got a portable air condition with the heat you’ve been having. I thought about putting eyes on mine. Ha! Little robot.
I think the problem with the corner over there is that youd have a chair that is facing the back of the couch with a small walk way.. it just feels like bad feng shui or something : /
I was looking hard at the guest room window to see if the chair would fit through 😂but looks like it won't. Loving the bed changes/additions and that Dansk candle holder is gorgeous and what a steal. You always thrift such good items.
About your chair… Usually the back comes off this type of chair. Pull straight up on it and see if that works. If you get the back off, you should be able to get the chair through the doorway if it doesn’t come off I still think you can get it through the doorway by turning it sideways and pivoting through the doorway, I’ve done this before. Lol not by myself of course.
I tried that sadly it isn't designed that way.. it had tension strings keeping it all together.. it was quite an odd design. Also we of course tried the pivot.. its 14inches bigger than the opening, it just wouldn't work.
I like the new leather chair. It looks so comfortable! I agree with your commenter who suggested that you may want to try putting a pillow or blanket on it to tie it in with your other furniture. You may want to try that and keep the chair for awhile to see if you change your mind. Thanks for another interesting video!
I think the black leather chair would be a great replacement for the wood-framed chair in your living room. It’s a new element that would balance the wood overwhelm and the planned chrome additions you want to make.
Did u try passing the black leather chair thru window ……we once brought a second hand sofa from the outside thru patio door in living room (on the 3rd floor!!!!!)…..
I love the texture you brought into your bedding! I have a brown tabby named Lucy, and ya, that's what they want to do with their life. Lucy works her way between the bed pillows and sleeps there.
I love how you are experimenting with your bed linens. Texture is really "in" right now and I have been adding that to my bedding to experiment with it. I love your blue-greens, it's my favorite color and so soothing with browns, tans, and neutrals. You have such an eye for detail, and a passion for surrounding yourself with things that move you. And you keep it affordable, it's fun isn't it lol?!?
Hi LK, I just found your channel, and am sure loving it , especially since you live in So Cal. I live in Palm Springs so of course I love your vibe !! Your new sub, Myra 🌴🌈🌡️
The black leather chair does not look too big for that corner. That's where you'd find me for coffee, reading and watching tv. I get that your couch is brown.🤔
Keep the new black chair! Move the wood frame chair somewhere else and pull the new chair onto the area rug to replace it, maybe pull the sectional out another 6 inches or so to accommodate. I don’t usually comment on anything but you need to keep that chair IMO…
I think your place is really stylish and full of interesting pieces. You said you'd like to bring in some color but not make it maximalist: why not some wallpaint ? Idk if you are allowed by your landlord but since i think every room is pretty much white that could be a cool venture. I actually think a well chosen color can make things more sleek since everthing contrasts quite much on white walls, but with color you could do some sophisticated tone on tone with your furniture and decor, or some interesting color combos that complement the furniture and/or art ... idk just something to think of! Love this video format btw
Thank you!! I really love white walls, and bringing color and texture in through decor and furniture, but I’ve been exploring adding pops of color to the bathroom, office and living room fireplace.
I’m sad about the black chair because it’s totally cool. Are you sure it does not break down into two pieces? The reason I ask is because recliner chairs are big and bulky and they generally come apart into two pieces for the very reason of moving them into rooms. Check it closely. The back may come apart from the bottom so you can move it easier.
I’m sure you tried many positions to put the chair into your guest room but what about turning it on its side and putting the back in through the door first?
I like that your style is not cookie cutter of so many houses. You actually make it look likes someone enjoys living here rather than decorating for look but don't touch.

The back of the chair probably clips into/out from the bottom... check for little levers to push in down the inside sides.
I thought there was an option but sadly I think I’d be breaking the chair to disassemble we tried for like two hours haha
Im a new subscriber. I love your approachable decoraring style.
Hi and welcome! 👋🏼😊 Thanks so much!
Literally all I was thinking about was how much I love your T-shirt! 😂 It gives me late 80s, early 90s vibes 🙂 Also I think your bookshelf looks great, love when artwork is added like that and layered with the plant👌🏻 I recently got a rubber tree back from a friend looking after it while I moved away for a year….its already perking up-hope it does well!🌱
-also I think that black leather chair somehow works there!
@@livingwithlk It sounds like you've tried everything. Somehow, I hope you find a way.
Love this style of video!!
Yay!
It's all coming together - great! And your hair looks fantastic!
Thank you so much!
I love your place, black leather is nice for furniture because you can use so many colors with it to change the look.. I have cigar boxes that I love .. I have made key holders with a couple of them and hung them up in the wall,, just wanted to share …😊
Love the casual check-in! Love the show and tell style of all your recent finds, big and small.
Excellent thrifted treasures. Love the Miller dupe lamp. I’ve been looking for a corner hanging lamp for my artist son daughter in-laws house. This seems perfect. I just became a subscriber - living on the north coast of California 😉
yay hi and welcome! I love northern california so much!
Your little crab ash gray legit gave me a little jump scare. How cool, though! ☺️
I would absolutely photo copy plant plans (maybe enlarge it a bit or do a group) with the chrome frames!
I was looking hard at the guest room window to see if the chair would fit through 😂but looks like it won't. Loving the bed changes/additions and that Dansk candle holder is gorgeous and what a steal. You always thrift such good items.
LOL sadly it will not fit anywhere :(
About your chair… Usually the back comes off this type of chair.
I love the green blanket in the bed, adds a lot of texture.
I think the black leather chair would be a great replacement for the wood-framed chair in your living room. It’s a new element that would balance the wood overwhelm and the planned chrome additions you want to make.
I totally agree! I just think it’s size overpowers the coffee table and couch :/
Did u try passing the black leather chair thru window ……we once brought a second hand sofa from the outside thru patio door in living room (on the 3rd floor!!!!!)…..
Your fiddle fig is doing great and love the pot. They love summer out, in shade and remember to water.
I love the texture you brought into your bedding! I have a brown tabby named Lucy, and ya, that's what they want to do with their life. Lucy works her way between the bed pillows and sleeps there.
so sweet 😻
Bookcase looks better
Could you possibly maneuver the chair through the window?
I love how you are experimenting with your bed linens. Texture is really "in" right now and I have been adding that to my bedding to experiment with it. I love your blue-greens, it's my favorite color and so soothing with browns, tans, and neutrals. You have such an eye for detail, and a passion for surrounding yourself with things that move you. And you keep it affordable, it's fun isn't it lol?!?
Aw thank you so much! I wish I didn’t have to keep it affordable hahah but one must try!
I L-O-V-E that oil burner!
me too!! it’s so cool
Hi LK, I just found your channel, and am sure loving it , especially since you live in So Cal. I live in Palm Springs so of course I love your vibe !! Your new sub, Myra 🌴🌈🌡️
Yay hi Myra! welcome : ) thanks so much! I absolutely love palm springs if you couldn't tell from some of the videos on my channel haha
man I love that leather chair!!!❤
Truly! So bummed about it
❤your slow development and the 😻 bed is👌as was the sound, and 🙏 for slowing down your commentary a tad. 👍 from 🇬🇧
The black leather chair does not look too big for that corner. That's where you'd find me for coffee, reading and watching tv. I get that your couch is brown.🤔
That’s exactly how I do my pillows. They all come in handy for watching TV in bed.
exactly haha
Fun update!
Keep the new black chair! Move the wood frame chair somewhere else and pull the new chair onto the area rug to replace it, maybe pull the sectional out another 6 inches or so to accommodate. I don’t usually comment on anything but you need to keep that chair IMO…
Haha we tried that! None of the configurations worked.. I didn't show it on camera because we tried for like 2 hours late at night
Your hair is On Point🎉
Possibly fit through the windows in the office or any close windows
As always, great content. Your bed is looking especially comfy. Don’t blame the kitty for not wanting to move.
Love the black chair!! Would it fit through the window🤔😂
Checked it out very closely for about 2 hours.. : (
I love this style of video! Very realistic and a nice break from feeling like everything has to be a dramatic makeover. Your kitty is soooo cute
Glad you liked it!
I like the bedroom looks very cozy.
I’m sure you tried many positions to put the chair into your guest room but what about turning it on its side and putting the back in through the door first?
yup
Omg please keep the chair! Even change out your sofa for something else to balance it better!
LOL if only sofas weren't thousands of dollars.. I have been considering a new sofa tbh! But haven't found the right one..
Love your ideas ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Can you bring the chair in through the window??
Did you try turning the new chair on its side and rocking it through the doorway?
Yup.
where did you buy that single tall fake dandelion? I’ve seen it in a few of your makeovers in different vases and always wanted one!
it’s a drumstick flower! and it’s real :) you can find them at some places that sell flowers! I’m currently trying to grow my own in the garden 😊
Is it possible that you get the leather chair in your office through the window?
I like the chair shape but not the color. It is just too big a chunk of black and it looks off. The same chair in a warm brown would be great.
LK, can you get the leather chair through the window?
I adore this channel. Plus I get to creep on the stores/estate sales you go to as a SD local
what a creep! ; ) haha thanks!
