i remember caroline winkler saying something about how investing in a small piece improves the experience of using that item (e.g. buying a real marble tray vs a tray that has a faux marble wrapping). that being said, how dare that company sell $500 coasters that only have a burl wood VENEER LIKE HELLO???? they couldn’t even make those solid wood😭
that’s what i’m saying!! if the core was solid gold or something i’d understand a bit more, but $500 for 6 VENEER coasters is gonna make me sick to my stomach
I moved to NYC a little over a year ago with only 2 suitcases so I’ve had to essentially start from scratch. It took way longer than most people would be willing to wait, but I decided to only get things - from cleaning supplies to cheese graters- that I thought were beautiful (and not plastic). It has weirdly improved my mental health at least tenfold just because I absolutely love every object I own. I feel like, even though sometimes the nicer things are more expensive, I save soooooo much money by not purchasing things that I don’t like or aren’t as good quality
i love this genre of home decor videos, where you just love everything you own + it’s functional and good quality rather than unnecessary clutter for aesthetics. also those $500 veneer coasters r insane for something that looks like those slabs of resin ppl use as palettes for nail polish.
You have a disarming charm about you that I really enjoy. We don't really have similar styles but I still subscribed a few weeks ago just to hear you talk about things.
aw! thank you so much, that’s so kind and i appreciate the support :) i’d like to make some videos covering multiple styles in the future, so maybe something more up your alley will come out one day!
Love these choices! Also take your time with the make overs! Or spread them out over multiple videos. It’s so nice of you to help us for free don’t let it stress you out!!!
I clicked so freaking fast, love your videos! I relate so hard to your lamp addiction. Went to Ikea today to return some shelves, ended up getting two new lamps. Keep the vids coming 🤍
aw!! thank you, you're so kind :') ikea really knows how to make a good lamp! that's the one section i will *never* skip over when i'm in there (or really any store that sells lamps.. but i can trust ikea won't disappoint)
Quiet Town has some very cute shower curtain hooks (and other bathroom accessories, I have one of their shower curtains in a crazy orange and it's v nice)! Love the video!
First of all, I loved this video. First time viewer here! Secondly, I had never heard of the brand Schoolhouse until I saw your video last night. Then I found a Schoolhouse sconce for $5 at the thrift. Then got a catalog from Schoolhouse in the mail today. They sure are quick with it lol can't wait to see more of your content!
whaaaat! finding anything from schoolhouse for $5 is a miracle- but a SCONCE takes it to a whole different level……. im envious in a way words can’t describe (also very happy for you and your new lamp 💌)
Hi Halee, a year ago you posted a thrifting video showing a garfield glass mug - I commented on that video too, but in case you don't see it, be aware that those mugs have high levels of lead and cadmium and you shouldn't drink from them, run them through your dishwasher, etc - anything that could transfer paint. The leadsafemama blog did testing on that exact mug that should come up if you google, also there's a scientific paper "High levels of migratable lead and cadmium on decorated drinking glassware" by Andrew Turner that talks about this issue in that type of glassware in general. Not to be a busybody just want you and others to know the risks when thrifting!!
oh hi!! i remember your comment, and i stopped using it immediately after :) thank you for the heads up, i probably would’ve kept using it if you wouldn’t have told me!
Great finds!! Echoing above- really love your videos! As a fellow student I can imagine you’re strapped for time to make them but lucky us that you’ve chosen to! Thanks! Always looking forward to future videos.
As I said on Instagram, you are making me love primary colors and I'm a goth 😂🖤 I love your eye for details, amazing video and I'm totally rethinking all my choices for basic items from now on 🖤
A nice little gadget I’ve been enjoying is a weather station! Works great with other mcm toys. Those dust goat hair brushes are mega cute but it’s preposterous that they start at $40 and go up 😮💨
gasp. weather stations have never even crossed my mind…… i know what im going to be mildly obsessed with looking up for the next few weeks also, i’ve found that closing your eyes real hard while you’re dusting and letting your imagination take over is a great way to use the fancy dust brush for free 🙂↔️
We have the exact garbage can in my shared flat and honestly i hate it 😭 Its so hard to clean and the lid always looks crusty. And if you have to throw a lot of things you have to remove the whole top piece. But i love Most wooden household items and plastic free ones :)
it’s always in the back of my mind! i’m not confident in the idea of doing it at home, and a professional perm is pretty pricey- but one day when my wallet gives me the green light to pay someone else to do it, i will :)
Go to a hair stylist training school/academy. They're always looking for models for their trainees. All the trainees are supervised by professional stylists at all times, and always do a perfect job on their clients. You can get your perm done just as good, and for a tiny fraction of the price you'd pay at a salon. It'd make a great video too! What do you think about the idea?
psa to anyone who wants one of the shinola/ge extension cords but can't swing the price - ge makes plain white/black ones that are the same style/shape if you like the design but don't mind parting with the fun colors
this was exactly the kind of video I needed! Saved these links on my homeware excel :D By the way, has anyone told you look sort of like Emma Watson? Like a grunge version haha
my pinterest is linked at the bottom of the description where i have a board titled “elevated basics”- everything should be linked there :) lmk if anything’s missing and i’ll edit it!
I wanna elevate everything little damn thing in my home after watching this ✨️ regarding terminator the movie check out the original creator of the franchise (and the matrix franchise) Sophia Stewart, such a fascinating women
but in seriousness, some of the prices make sense! the brands are putting effort into thoughtfully sourcing their materials and paying their workers.. and the rest of the brands don’t care about that stuff and are up-charging bc they know someone will buy it just because of the name attached to it! 😀
@@haleeegreen hahah 😂 I also ask that everyday. Ughhh so true- the sustainable and conscious businesses really deserve the most support. I can’t even afford food, but I dig watching your video nonetheless. Everything is so artsy and I see your background and it just all makes sense - a person of good taste!
i am!! always! i’ll probably spread all of the submissions out over a longer period of time through multiple videos, so feel free to send in whenever you want 😌💌 the email is haleegreenyt@gmail!

Aren't you just as sweet as a box of baby ducks. Stumbled here and thoroughly enjoyed your content.

i’m glad! i’ll add a gift guide to the list :) 💌

ooooh, thanks for mentioning them- i just looked through their website and love their striped bath mats & shower curtains!!
sorry I only buy decor that does emit chemicals that mess with my brain so that's not gonna work for me 😔

ooo those power strips are good !!
Schoolhouse runs some rock solid sales! I got a set of pillowcases at a great price. But the $$$ certainly go up from there.
OMG where is that little mirror necklace from Im obsessed 🤎🤍
