I have a black cat, too❣️ However, the dominant color in my home IS black. Not as in "dark & moody", but rather as in elegant "Tuxedo" black. My pop of color/pattern is currently leopard print (I ❤ leopards). But, as we all know, black goes with everything and I can literally change the vibe of the room by changing the rug, throw pillows, and other accessories.
Love an interruption from the editor moment 😂. Paige, you're killing it. These videos have such a fun editing style. It matches Caroline's personality so well.
Personal opinion: these sorts of videos, where you squirrel into a common problem and present the conceptual and decisional issues, link the macro to the micro of the problem and possible solutions, analyse the flow and troubleshoot the user experience, is where you REALLY standout. The other video I froth that fits this bill is home organisation from an interior design perspective. Your experience in different fields and how you combine them to create magical transdisciplinary contributions is so unique in a sea of similar takes. It so appeals to my own way of thinking and approaching issues so I just love love love it. Obviously not every video can be on this level because there’s clearly a lot of intellectual thought that goes on behind them, that’d be like expecting an academic researcher to submit an original journal article for publication every week, but I gobble up these gems when they land. Thanks for giving me things to chew on and new ways of thinking about things I’d long given up thinking new ways about!
Wow. This is a favorite comment in a while. I felt very honored and also very seen by this? I genuinely believe that these videos are human videos - whether on design, or dating, or organization, or anything else. 1) you look fabulous as always 2) I’d love a video where you advise how slowly reach your goal style and how to merge different styles without it looking weird. Eg our home is mostly filled with white ikea furniture that we’ve had for years with a few more expensive modern pieces (also clean lines and white). However my style had changed and I appreciate more vintage romantic styles, more intricate details, and darker woods - but I can’t afford to just redo everything and I don’t know how to add more romantic vintage touches and furniture without it looking weird because the styles are so opposing :/

My 10 year partner abruptly seperated from me two weeks ago. Every day is a brutal, miserable uphill climb. I think you summed up your last relationship as a 6 year car ride between two sad people. I'm afraid to admit to my 33 year old self that I'm saying goodbye to an entire life and future I grew to know so well. Your channel is the one thing that helps me stay balanced and gives me a reason to laugh in the midst of so many tears. I turn on any of your videos, bury into the blankets and slowly try to heal. Thank you for being here, Caroline ❤
Weirdly enough, so much of this advice applies equally well to landscape design: have a single showstopper (such as an interesting building, tree, or path) and design the garden around to attracting your eye to it, vary the “airiness” of your plants (don’t go all in on just heavy opaque shrubs or just spindly perennials that you can see through, but use both intermixed to create depth), use plants of different heights in different places to make the garden feel more dynamic, limit your plant selection to a 3-4 color palette (excluding greens and browns, which are neutrals), add interest through texture (leaf/flower size, shape, etc.), and so on.
It’s not a matter of “if”. LOVE the games we get to play with Caroline! LOVE your Editor interjected when things went awry AND gave us the skinny… then gave the loving, don’t be harsh on her, y’all, directive. ;)
The uprise of Paige! Love it. Going through every aspect is so fun and makes you realise there’s more to it than just whether you like something or not. I love knowing what, why, and how I put something together or not. ❤
This was the best and most detailed explanation I have heard that finally explains the why behind the reason a particular room looks good and well- balanced. Thank you for having the insight and ability to communicate the concepts. I will surely watch this again!
This has been an eye opener for me. Loved every minute, I think I need to watch it several times to absorb it all. When you cover ideas it makes me both happy and my head spins. How you can educate beautifully and get make me laugh at the same time is beyond me. Paige is a genius videographer. You two meld together seamlessly. Loved this!
This means a lot to me, thank you! I found the design world to be very unnecessarily arrogant and I’m happy to see that a different approach feels refreshing to others beyond myself
what i really like about you is your color palette! Things you already chose for your home or pictures you choose to show in your videos are the colors i prefer!
This is the best video ever! I’m going to save and watch it frequently so I can learn it. You are an amazing designer, thanks for teaching us how to fix our homes.
It's wild, no video in history has had better timing than this one - I have a brand new bedroom that I've been stressed about! I was just looking at rugs last night!!
thank youuuu for teaching interior design in such an approachable way! your videos actually help me get past the decision paralysis/general executive dysfunction i get about design 🤸& i loveee ur laugh ☀️
Caroline, I just love your channel so much! Your style and vibe are both so incredibly fun, thoughtful, comedic, and such a joy to witness. Sprinkle in a bit of your curated chaos and it’s perfection! I learn so much about interior design through you and have an amazing time doing it. Not to mention the little life tidbits mixed in. As always, thank you for sharing such wonderful content and pieces of your life. Side note, I ADORE the text used in your videos and have been searching high and low for it haha. I work as an architect and often do graphic design type things, so that text is HAUNTING me. I must find it!!
Love ALL of your content. Just had to say, after laughing out loud, that your ads are by far the most entertaining of any out there, I never skip them 😂
YES something black in every room! There was an interior designer Edgar on tv about 25 years ago from the south and that was his thought and it’s stuck with me and my daughters all these years! 🥰🤣
I always go too matchy matchy. You gave me the confidence to buy a bold accent rug for next to my bed. Its beautiful and has insects on it and I'm obsessed ❤
Caroline, I admire your ability to put in words your gut feelings about spaces and decor. You are so well articulated... This video was incredibly useful.
Love the advice in this video. It encourages strategic and thoughtful choices without all the pressure. Using the imaging tool to see how the rugs look in different space with different intentions, simple drawings to help you figure out how these pieces will fit in the space, in relation to each other etc. like those maps where based on your choice you either go left or right, stop there or continue on. Nice! But also trial and error is a natural part of this process too and to be ok with that. Love the series! ❤❤
I came to this video already feeling burnt out and overwhelmed by endless options for my place, and to have you sincerely validate these feelings by saying there's too much choice was so healing - I adore this channel CW, you're a total babe
Goodness you just put into words what I have been feeling while looking for a coffee table for our hobby room. All two sofas are low to the ground and the two side tables brought in to act as one coffee table felt heavy and I told myself I needed an “airy” coffee table. It is exactly what you said. Everything is low to the ground so the coffee table needs to have a breeze go through. Of course I don’t need the affirmation, but I am glad I got it.
I hadn't paid attention to the lightness of furniture before. That explains why rooms with all heavy furniture look "stiff" and uncomfortable. I knew that intuitively, but didn't know how to remedy that other than just removing the furniture. This is great content following the last subscriber room makeover video. That one got me wondering about harmony, unity and cohesion in a room. This video helped with that. THANK YOU!
Hi, Caroline! I'm a interior designer myself (from Brazil). Realy like your channel and would like to thank you for all your desing inspirations and good content!
You were reading my mind ....I needed how to choose carpets ....great approach ...I am enjoying this format where you show us tools to visualise the option we are considering and the concept behind many good things to think of❤❤❤❤
Hi Caroline! I have been watching your videos for over two years and you have changed my approach to the way I design my spaces! Thank you. I am no longer afraid to buy a piece of furniture just to realize that it doesn't work, and that is ok.I can resell and find something that will actually work.
More outfit videos!!! I loved your ‘everything I wore this week’ ❤ Also I love to listen to your videos while I’m cleaning or doing my morning routine because I love your thoughts and you bring such a fun energy 😘💕
I would love a video like this on choosing paint colors. Honestly, watching your videos encouraged me to purchase a home.. I'd put your videos up on the TV sit back and daydream about making interior design choices in my first home. SPOILER ALTER - buying a home in a price range that doesn't completely wreck you as a young single woman means for the first 6 months you're actually just fixing the home and don't get to do anything designy because you're busy spending all your time and money at Menards and Home Depot.... fast forward to now I have a really fun problem I'd love you to help me solve! I get to pick out paint colors and swap out the free furniture that has gotten me through the move-in process with something magnificent and cla$$y! I've been feeling a bit like a dude since purchasing this home (literally laid my own designer cork flooring and installed custom built-in shelves. Also hired someone to re-do the electric and plumbing, build a deck, and add a third door to the backyard...) and now its time to femme it up over here!!! How do I apply to be one of your subscriber makeovers? This living room is ready for you!
I am digging the bangs! I haven’t been tuning into yt lately but god knows I need to buy furniture so thanks for sharing your formula. Keep doing you, as always I love the attitude and the look today is 🔥
I agree about the black. I have a black marble coffee table and some pictures framed in black. To make everything come together with black,I had all interior doors painted in SW TRICORN BLACK. It’s a wow factor. I also think every room needs a mirror. Some rooms need a huge mirror, some maybe just an accent mirror.
You always look cute, and today you look gorgeous! Like a French actress! (And gold suits you in a marvelous manner.) Thank you for the great, fun, helpful and captivating video! Loved it!!
Have we all been curious to see when the wine will get spilled or it was just me? Oh, it was just me 😅 All that twists and turns... I'll have to watch the next episode now... Caroline, many would say that you are an incredibly talented content creator, but I would say that you are such an incredibly talented screenplay writer, story teller, director, producer, advertiser, performer, mental and emotional health advocate.
i move out in a week and am currently looking for a rug and living room furniture so this is a blessing right now! thank you and also thank you paige, revival is great!
coming back here to tell you that I've just spent an hour playing around with Revival Rugs. love love love it. Thanks to you and to PAIGE! I can also recommend the Graber Visualiser for curtains and blinds, there's not a ton of options but I still found it helpful
Yessss, I live in a country where functionally there is still only one option for a couch, three kinds of rug, and one table, and in some ways it is so freeing. Sometimes I miss the endless possibilities that allow for more self expression in decor. But then I remember how rarely I feel choice paralysis or have to spend hours sifting through options.
This was a great video. It may me look around my living room. I have black end tables. They were from my old house. But are in great shape, so I kept them. Then I bought a black cabinet to put across the room. It moves to the hallway when I put up my Christmas tree. I have a small house and only have one spot for all my furniture. And my furniture is of various heights. I have a gold sofa, an antique brown wood with upholstered middle back and seat. It’s a green pattern. And a big brown recliner, that is my husband’s chair. I have a rug with off white, black and a bunch of different colors. Some of the gold from the sofa is in it. My end tables are leggy. But they’re up against the wall, and I have baskets under one and a small shelf thing under the other one. I’m a true maximalist. I love all my stuff. I’m sure some people think my house is junky. But they don’t live here so I don’t care.
Caroline, this is exactly why I haven’t bought curtains or a sofa despite actively attempting to for the past 5 years! It also just takes so long to look through all the slightly different curtains on like, Wayfair or something. Like literally hundreds of pages of blue curtains, I just can’t. Such anxiety there.
At the 13:29-ish mark, I thought the wine had the potential to spill...but no. You have a good mattress, good option for a mattress sponsor ad😁 Great ideas, as always. thanks!
Balancing leggines is the best tipp! a few years ago i heard to the advice "if your room is small take pieces who do not take much floorspace". I had a midcentury Sofa (very pretty green one) a leggy table, a bookshelf- and i hated the room, it had a feeling it will fly away, no ankering (is this a word?) now changed to a bulky off white, very textured sofa - and t is pinterst worthy :)
i found your channel recently and i’m absolutely loving your humor and taste and style and everything! i was wondering if you could do a video on how to decorate a college dorm? cause ya girl is already stressing about next year when i’m in college (and i knowww it might not be your usual thing bit it would be much appreciated to help a gen z girlie out). thank you and i love you!!

I had to laugh...about the Vision Board..I have that " Vision Board " installed in my Blonde Brain ...😁...I chose the Rug in my Lounge to be on the " cohesive side " ..based on the colours/ pattern on a large Console piece I have ...I looked for months online. Saw nothing that spoke to me ... out one day,at a Consignment Store ...boom ! There it was... the colours ,the size ,its mostly a Wool Rug ( a Wool Blend ) and was a S t e a l. Truly it was... So I'm glad that you included either " Cohesiveness or Contrast " ...because a lot of people don't look at it in that context.... ( I usually opt for Neutral draperies, (Curtains , whatever, lol) ...because that creates this really nice backdrop for whatever I want to do in the room and it's not competing with anything else.) I. Have been subscribed for some time now....But this whole series that you're doing ,really, to me is one of the best things on your Channel that I've seen ....it's so relatable, its got " Carolines style " it is actually h e l p f u l ....You've done a lot of good things....Don't get me wrong~ but this little Series right here....Caroline, I think this is part of your Niche. 😊 One last thing, on this " Novel " of a Comment.. yes, the Black accent .
LOVE your Editor interjected when things went awry AND gave us the skinny… then gave the loving, don’t be harsh on her, y’all, directive.
;)
Caroline - I appreciate that you’re flexible with your personal style vs. other styles!
The revival rug suggestion over and over was perfect 🤣
The uprise of Paige! Love it. Going through every aspect is so fun and makes you realise there’s more to it than just whether you like something or not. I love knowing what, why, and how I put something together or not. ❤
This was the best and most detailed explanation I have heard that finally explains the why behind the reason a particular room looks good and well- balanced. Thank you for having the insight and ability to communicate the concepts. I will surely watch this again!
Adding the black accent into a room is a STATEMENT ❤ I love it!
Loved this!
I love love your videos! You are so encouraging and never arrogant or haughty toward others’ design tastes. Thank you for your content!
Yeah, she's so encouraging. I really do admire her lifestyle and behavior. Where are you from?
This means a lot to me, thank you! I found the design world to be very unnecessarily arrogant and I’m happy to see that a different approach feels refreshing to others beyond myself
what i really like about you is your color palette! Things you already chose for your home or pictures you choose to show in your videos are the colors i prefer!
Was looking for a new rug in our living room. Your tips are just so helpful. Loving it.
Yay ! Love the jewelry and the bangs , so cute .
Now let's watch ❤.
Doh! Thank u❤
I super-duper appreciate the level of detail you put into this video. I've really been enjoying your return to decorating videos. So much chill.
Rugs are always the hardest decor item for me! And a rug can be a big investment. Will definitely try that visualizer.
Just had to say, after laughing out loud, that your ads are by far the most entertaining of any out there, I never skip them 😂
Can't love this channel more. The Caroline, the content, the dry humor....Love it.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 You deserve five stars for this one - so helpful and so amusing. Excellent editing too, Paige.
Your haircut looks fab!
Did she get her lips done?
@@annemurphy9339I was just wondering that lol
@@Dr.MarinaBudge and cheekbone additions? She needed nothing! Caroline you have natural beauty-STOP
@@annemurphy9339I thought so too. Looks great!
Love your new hair style! Wow, I have curly hair so I can't do that with mine but I love it on you. 😊
im only a few minutes in but so far this is so thoughtfully and didactically edited. Its appreciated!
THANK YOU!
My days get instantly better, when you upload a new video! Loved this one
Hi, Caroline! I'm a interior designer myself (from Brazil). Realy like your channel and would like to thank you for all your desing inspirations and good content!
Also, thank you for using COLOR! Every single designer I see only uses beige and white! I can’t stand it! You’re the best 💜
I loved your ‘everything I wore this week’ ❤
Also I love to listen to your videos while I’m cleaning or doing my morning routine because I love your thoughts and you bring such a fun energy 😘💕
Keep doing you, as always I love the attitude and the look today is 🔥
Your hair looks really cute today❤
Such useful tips, the rug guide is a game changer! Thank you so much, Carol!
Love this video. PLEASE do a series on window treatments, types of curtain rods, types of curtains, types of blinds. a real deep dive.
Hey Caroline, just wanna let you know that your vibes and videos are wonderful and always make me feel fulfilled and happy ❤ sending big love
i move out in a week and am currently looking for a rug and living room furniture so this is a blessing right now! thank you and also thank you paige, revival is great!
coming back here to tell you that I've just spent an hour playing around with Revival Rugs. love love love it. Thanks to you and to PAIGE! I can also recommend the Graber Visualiser for curtains and blinds, there's not a ton of options but I still found it helpful
Doing some redecorating and scoured the internet a month ago for content like this.. you are a godsend 🤲🏻
Love your real life examples/edits! Very helpful.
I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this video 🥺
My evening just got better 🙌
This video is so cozy and so Fall 🍂 🍁 just perfect 👌🏼
I’m able to move on from IKEA to West Elm/CB2. This video has come just in time! ❤️
I always learn more than I needed to know with your videos, Caroline. This is brilliant thank you 🙏🏻😘
Your bangs look so good in this video!! 🤩
You are like a new found friend to me🎉 and i like your music choices❤
The red wine on the white comforter is one of the bravest things I have ever seen on Gods green earth.
@@cassidyroberts9592 Right? I would've flipped that glass over in 9.4 seconds.
Your hair and make up in this video is perfection ❤
ahhhh it’s christmas I JUST opened YT
oh my god paige’s disclaimer 😂
Caroline, this is exactly why I haven’t bought curtains or a sofa despite actively attempting to for the past 5 years! It also just takes so long to look through all the slightly different curtains on like, Wayfair or something. Like literally hundreds of pages of blue curtains, I just can’t. Such anxiety there.
omg your metal accessories and bangs, love how you styled it
I just moved and this video was sooooo helpful because I need to buy rugs omg. Thank you!!!
At the 13:29-ish mark, I thought the wine had the potential to spill...but no. You have a good mattress, good option for a mattress sponsor ad😁 Great ideas, as always. thanks!
This is actually gold. You’re so skilled at this, thank you for sharing your wisdom!!
Balancing leggines is the best tipp! a few years ago i heard to the advice "if your room is small take pieces who do not take much floorspace". I had a midcentury Sofa (very pretty green one) a leggy table, a bookshelf- and i hated the room, it had a feeling it will fly away, no ankering (is this a word?) now changed to a bulky off white, very textured sofa - and t is pinterst worthy :)
i found your channel recently and i’m absolutely loving your humor and taste and style and everything! i was wondering if you could do a video on how to decorate a college dorm? cause ya girl is already stressing about next year when i’m in college (and i knowww it might not be your usual thing bit it would be much appreciated to help a gen z girlie out). thank you and i love you!!
...Paige being that little interruption was so " on point Caroline "...👌🏻👏🏻..good work, Miss Paige !
There it was... the colours ,the size ,its mostly a Wool Rug ( a Wool Blend ) and was a
S t e a l. Truly it was...
So I'm glad that you included either " Cohesiveness or Contrast " ...because a lot of people don't look at it in that context.... I have done that for years with my rugs.My furniture, my drapes my accessories.I look at what might give the most visual interest but keep everything balanced in a way that there's enough " Neutral " in the mix. ( I usually opt for Neutral draperies, (Curtains , whatever, lol) ...because that creates this really nice backdrop for whatever I want to do in the room and it's not competing with anything else.)
I.
Have been subscribed for some time now....But this whole series that you're doing ,really, to me is one of the best things on your Channel that I've seen ....it's so relatable, its got " Carolines style " it is actually

One last thing, on this " Novel " of a Comment.. yes, the Black accent . I learned this 30 + years ago ,( yepppp. I'm o l d e r 😁) whilst working for an Interior Designer, and it doesn't have to be anything " big "...Picture Frame/ Artwork Frame . A column type lamp. ..A clock. Whatever it is, it
