    I bought my wife a Polygon D7 size small, it came with a 150mm dropper, I had to drop down to a 100mm setup to get her fitted.

    Good timing Anna. I have been thinking of getting a reverb to replace my ascend. I like how you explained the jargon then got into it. #ASKGMBNTECH A video on dialing in suspension with jargon explained and shots of suspension movements explained would be great. Like: this is high speed compression and this is what it does or this is what linear looks like versus ramping up.

    Anna’s helmet strap always looks very loose, is it safe? I get that this can be more comfortable though.

    The max extended height, and insertion length, for the overlap sticking out past the seatpost collar. The frame design and bike size are going to determine the dropper size, and the extension. It's gonna be a compromise in some situations. My hardtails have an advantage, even at different tube lengths and bends. Going with a 210mm dropper for the difference between them. Even still, a regular seatpost can be more beneficial, just not as convenient. So stop and drop it.

    If you real want max drop try to make it so the collar sits right flush with top of the seat tube and still extends to the full height you need which could mean getting one that needs shims to reduce it's extended height. However you can't all way's do that because of things like seats hitting the rear wheel at full compression. Often tall rides will have more seat post sticking out than they should and in fact could have a longer dropper so you get that seat way out the way when needed.

    If you already have a dropper, you can drop it completely and measure from the bottom of the collar to the saddle rail to find the measurement to add to the drop to find the max stack height.

    Stumpjumper's are really bad for insertion depth because of the way the frame is and the bolt bosses for the pivots. Buying a pnw loan dropper post that has 25mm of adjustment without tools save me on two separate builds getting things perfect.

    I'd say the absolute most L-XL bike frames should be able to fit in a 200mm dropper. Why even bother with a shorter one?

    • @Ferrari255GTO
      @Ferrari255GTO หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because dropper posts are ment to be used at full extension and/or compression, you need the dropper's travel to either match or be slightly shorter than the distance to the frame, also as a bonus you get to save some weight. You would need to consider saddle height too since if you swap it you could end up offseting thr required travel, it's not a bad idea to leave some extra space just in case

    Havent used a dropper in 34 years of mtb. My new build doesnt have one. Only 1 situation in recent memory where I would have wanted one. To me its just more dead weight on already porky bikes. All I have to do is stand on the pedals and my seat drops. Another Industry "must have"😂
