The one I can afford and the one that is actually available in my country. Currently I have the ugliest lever on the market, but it's the only stand alone I could find after months of searching.
I love that you guys edit your videos calling out all the mistakes, makes it so much more entertaining and also means I dont have to be a dick correcting you. Super solid as always, very helpful and informative. Ride dirty, stay stoked!
I had a OneUp remote break when I barely nicked it with my knee during a minor front wheel wash out (not even a crash). Replaced it with a Wolf Tooth. Good to see an alloy version coming. The post is awesome though!
I’m an old geezer (75) who still likes to pedal. I’ve found a drop post to be an essential safety feature. You can pedal with good leg extension and still put your feet flat on the ground at a stop. I’ve got the wolf lever. Works fine. I think drop posts should be touted more as a safety feature.
I had a fairly basic Raceface dropper with a generic Raceface lever. I kept the post and swapped to the Wolf tooth Light Action and the difference in feel and performance was night and day. Definitely would recommend swapping out the lever first, before upgrading the entire dropper post.
I'm using E13 lever with OneUp post. Both works very well. And in other bike I modified an XT left shifter to work as a dropper lever, works very well too.
You can replace the piece for 5 bucks on the wolf tooth, or get a brand new lever from one-up for free. Idk, Id rather have a brand new one for free than have to pay five bucks and then shipping and then have to tinker with the lever.
Currently using the stock DVO/Garnet and it feels fine....may put some grip tape. Have a Wolftooth as back up. +Worldwide Cyclery actually I came to visit/looking for you Jeff and you weren't there so Chance gave me some helpful info and free swag. EXO+ tire video......PLEEEEEAAASEEEEE!🤘🏼😀
i have used WT and FOX, but the most varied mouting positions i've used is the Crank Bros. it swivels around a ball joint and can be positioned any way you like. the Orbea brand remote has the easiest actuator, take very little effort to start moving. WT is good, but i've found the sharp edge of the blade digs into my thumb, once in a while. havent used 1-up but do run the droppers on 2 bikes. good stuff!
I have the One Up and the Wolf Tooth on my bikes and the One Up wins out on all measurements. The 1Up is $20 less and comes with hardware, super sweet. The operation is equal to the Wolf's if not a tad better. Aesthetically, the Wolf's design exposes the cable wire which I hate seeing so the 1Up wins again. The 1Up in the video has been replaced by an aluminum which is as durable as the Wolf's. As for adjustment, the 1Up win again having more location flexibility than the Wolf.
I've been reading about people buying old left Grip Shift levers and converting them with a spring removal. Definitely the most stealth solution, especially with my X-9 Grip Shift on the other side.
Jeff, the KS Southpaw has 3D adjustment so you can position the lever more inboard or outboard depending on personal preference. I know this lever has been criticized but the newer version with 360° clamp is pretty good and super adjustable.
Specialized remote is pretty good too, have both that and Wolftooth LA, I actually prefer the Specialized because the lever actuation point can be moved by a small ring clamp. Only works with droppers terminated at seatpost tho..
What? I broke my Wolftooth remote and needed a quick fix before my next ride. My bike shop was closed and the one I took it to installed a new $69 remote. Conveniently never mentioned the $5 fix! Wish I had known about that. They saw me coming, haha
Man I wish everyone would go to I9 standards and offer eleventy different colors of anodization for their products. I lived in the 80's and we had the entire world anodized. I mean damn you bringing back the mullets, got bring the bling too.
My stock lever requires so much force it moves the lever body before it cams the cable. Makes me not even use the dropper. However great video I'll be buying from you guys in a New York minute.
Been using the stock remote of a brandx ascend dropper, it's already flimsy to begin with but it hasn't broken so far with the fair amount of crashes I've had. Going to replace it with a wolftooth when it breaks. Little hack for any dropper remote is to just have the clamp holding it to the handle bar to be not so tight that it can simply rotate around in a crash. Tight enough so it doesn't move around in normal usage but loose enough that it will just rotate when it hits a rock, etc. Same goes for brake levers and shifters and dropper remotes that are ispec/matchmaker that are directly attached. Saves them in a crash 👍
The BikeYoke Triggy Alpha has a lever pitch adjustment, and it's on a sealed cartridge bearing. It feels best opposite a shimano shifter, as it's paddle shape is much more similar to shimano than sram. I've got it on my bike, paired with a 213mm (!) BikeYoke Revive, and it does everything I want it to.
The PNW is the most aesthetically pleasing. All I worry about is the little rubber pad coming off or wearing off like the loam grips do. The loam grips have not been very durable for me after owning them for about 6 months. The rubber feels good it just shears and frays easy. If the rubber pad could ever be replaced then the loam lever would win for me but I opted for wolftooth for my first dropper post.
hey I have a transX dropper and the lever that came with it the screw that is attached to the ring that is attached to the bar is messed up. It kept coming loose to a point where the Ellen key just moves in it. any way I can replace that screw? or should I replace the lever? cheers
Hi, I am planning to use downtube shifter (like) device for my bike. I have 2x360 Nuvinci hub and double crankset on the front. I had 3x9 before and an XT shift lever, then I adjusted the stopper to reduce it to 2s shifter. I didn't want to buy 2s shifter and still don't. Gauges are dead weight, since I have only 2 gears and tell by the feel on my feet which clutch I'm on. My question is: How do the seatpost dropper lever works? Is it capable to do Lo-Hi positions or does it work in press-release principle and returns to same position when untouched?
please tell me which remote work with Hope brakes matchmaker? i used KS that came with it, hated. bought a southpaws, got its own clamp. got a Fox remote not match with the Hope matchmaker. so please help, thanks a lot!
They will work if you have enough room but often times these style remotes are not very comfortable to use when you also need to find space for a shifter.
The WT fits tightly inside Shimano components. I’ve installed one with independent clamp in between the brake and shifter. Ended up getting rid of shifter, less to coordinate & clutter.
I think the best option is the Fox lever made specifically for 2x - www.worldwidecyclery.com/products/fox-transfer-dropper-post-remote-2x-or-3x-left-or-right-position hope that helps!
I think an old Suntour XC Pro topside shifter lever might work as a seat post dropper if your dropper post uses a cable in which the cable clamps at the post (with the cable end knob at the shifter/lever). Or you could use the XC Pro shifter for your front derailleur and use a regular under bar dropper lever. You can find them on eBay and they’re a much smaller and nicer old school shift lever than the old Shimano style. Just an idea.
I got the one up when i got my one up lever as it was cost effective to get the package and shim too. No regrets with it and has been rock solid in performance. Meanwhile i have a buddy with the wolftooth and he says the breakaway feature breaks way to easily. Also, you guys sell the pivot replacement for over $9 when everyone else charges $5.. guess you added shipping into the part so it can still be considered "free shipping"
@UCMI-JIi0yBSB71vXqJzpuLA i will say he isn't the most gentle with bike handling and probably put no thought into the fact that the feature exist at first, or hes just unlucky and it lands just right on the rocks here in NJ 🤷♂️ cheers
all of them have to be better than the one I have that came stock, worked fine until I changed handlebars a few times. On a school employee hourly wage,,,I cant afford a new one. But hey, nothin' some sturdy zip ties can't fix. and I like your Semi-'Trump hairdo.
I fucked up my fox dropper lever instantly. Wanted to change the cable. All went well, but i fucked the inner screw. 70 dollars down the drain! And it doesn't even feel good lmfao. Next one is going to be something else and way cheaper. 70 euro is just insane for such a shitty thing.
Which dropper post lever would you choose? Let us know!
OneUp components! Best thumb ergonomics!
Wolf Tooth ReMote is the best!
The one I can afford and the one that is actually available in my country. Currently I have the ugliest lever on the market, but it's the only stand alone I could find after months of searching.
I wish you had included the X-Fusion BAT Remote. I really like the joystick style remote.
but Great video
My go to is my v2.0 Magura Vyron remote.
They have 5 colours now. You're basically the MTB prophet.
I’m a little biased but I love the PNW loam lever, works great, looks great, feels great! And it is available in 5 different colors now!
I love that you guys edit your videos calling out all the mistakes, makes it so much more entertaining and also means I dont have to be a dick correcting you. Super solid as always, very helpful and informative. Ride dirty, stay stoked!
I got the Oneup with my Oneup dropper. I can’t complain!
Got my PNW Loam from you guys hooked up to a Fox Transfer Factory dropper and I love it!
I had a OneUp remote break when I barely nicked it with my knee during a minor front wheel wash out (not even a crash). Replaced it with a Wolf Tooth. Good to see an alloy version coming. The post is awesome though!
Absolutely love my Wolf tooth remote. Wolf tooth hand grips are also a must For me.

I'm using E13 lever with OneUp post. Both works very well. And in other bike I modified an XT left shifter to work as a dropper lever, works very well too.
I hated the e*thirteen lever, way unnecessarily complicated.
Wolf Tooth ReMote is the best! That breakaway point idea is genius and the lever is smooth, well made, has grip on thumb pad etc.
That was a nice statement
You can replace the piece for 5 bucks on the wolf tooth, or get a brand new lever from one-up for free. Idk, Id rather have a brand new one for free than have to pay five bucks and then shipping and then have to tinker with the lever.
Love the Wolf Tooth lever for our Fox transfers. Just works perfectly.
NM Nate, love the channel picture you have on your channel man. Santa Fe Baldy, yeah buddy! I did a video riding Santa Fe.
Currently using the stock DVO/Garnet and it feels fine....may put some grip tape. Have a Wolftooth as back up.
+Worldwide Cyclery actually I came to visit/looking for you Jeff and you weren't there so Chance gave me some helpful info and free swag.

One up has been awesome for me!
That Wolftooth light action lever is great. So much better than the original.
i have used WT and FOX, but the most varied mouting positions i've used is the Crank Bros. it swivels around a ball joint and can be positioned any way you like.
the Orbea brand remote has the easiest actuator, take very little effort to start moving.

Cane Creeks dropper lever is awesome. Give it a try!

Love the screen saver "Snoop dogg drop it like it's hot" Haha

Paul component engineering from Chico, CA makes the best dropper trigger!
E13 is great. I love the built in skate tape on the lever.
Specialized remote is pretty good too, have both that and Wolftooth LA, I actually prefer the Specialized because the lever actuation point can be moved by a small ring clamp. Only works with droppers terminated at seatpost tho..
I went with Wolf Tooth but it's very nice to have multiple good options.
I've got wolf tooth and I still put velcro on it to have a better lever and better grip on it
wolf tooth on my bike. I can't believe i didn't change earlier. Great feel. Throw your stock lever out.
What? I broke my Wolftooth remote and needed a quick fix before my next ride. My bike shop was closed and the one I took it to installed a new $69 remote. Conveniently never mentioned the $5 fix! Wish I had known about that. They saw me coming, haha
That’s kind of lame. I would go back to them and tell them his uncool that is; unless they just didn’t know (which wouldn’t be impossible).
Man I wish everyone would go to I9 standards and offer eleventy different colors of anodization for their products. I lived in the 80's and we had the entire world anodized. I mean damn you bringing back the mullets, got bring the bling too.

That's not a hack, just common sense
@@th_js Not everyone knows it smarty pants
@@AltitudeAerials Well they should.
Paul Components also makes a fantastic dropper lever!
Wolf tooth’s quality is tops and made in the USA. Can’t get enough of it

Alloy OneUp is sick!
I gotta say the Oneup I broke 3 diffrent times. The company replaced it for free of course. It seems like the composite isnt very strong.
Paul components! Bearings on bearings!
Its outdated, just like everything he makes ;)) Handful of fanaticks keep on buying that stuff ..
I liked the wolf tooth LA, but it was too sharp on the upper corner since it was a chamfered scratchy edge. Very bothersome. Going to try the one up.
Out of the three...WT makes a i-spec A/B compatible lever. That's the one I went with.

Loam. Pairs great with the new 200mm rainier 3 I just got. PNW for the money is hard to beat.
I love my Paul component dropper lever.

The wolf tooth for me just great.
Can I use this as a brake lever on my fixie?
Cable actuated brakes? Hell yeah, send it brother...
How about lockout levers, above, below single, double
does wolftooth work with crankbrothers ?

Great Video, as always!
Does anyone know how to mount the Wolftooth one to a TRP DH-R Evo?
Wondering the same question. Did you ever get an answer?

Yes, Wolftooth makes a few, check them out. www.worldwidecyclery.com/pages/search-results-page?q=sustain&page=1&rb_vendor=Wolf+Tooth

Just three for now.
PNW is by far the superior machined product, just gorgeous cnc work.
I'm looking at getting a dropper but I still have 2x, any recommendations on what lever I can use that won't interfere with the shifter ?
I think the best option is the Fox lever made specifically for 2x - www.worldwidecyclery.com/products/fox-transfer-dropper-post-remote-2x-or-3x-left-or-right-position hope that helps!

novice question here; is it easy and a universal fit to just unscrew and screw in a new one to existing cables

I use an old Shimano front shifter.
