GMC Chevy P0332 P0327 Knock Sensor Circuit Low Input "TSB"

- In this video we are working on a Chevrolet truck that had it stored code p0332 and stored code p0327 for knock sensor circuit low input for Bank 1 and bank 2.

I briefly go over what goes wrong to cause those diagnostic trouble codes to set for the knock sensors and also what the repair entails and what the service bulletin is wanting you to do to prevent future failure of the knock sensors.
Labor to replace a knock sensors on the Chevy truck is about 2 hours.
Vehicle is setting a DTC P0332 and P0327 for low or insufficient knock sensor activity from sensor 1 and 2.
Average Reported Mileage: 338036
Tests/Procedures: 1. Disconnect the Blue Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector and check resistance value on Light Blue wire at pin 11 for sensor two and Dark Blue wire at pin 51. Both of these should be on the Blue PCM connector. The value should be 93K to 107K ohms.
2. If resistance is low, check circuit for shorted wire or shorted sensor.
3. If resistance is high, check for corroded wire or poor connection at the knock sensor.
4. Use an AC voltmeter and check the Hz on each wire listed above while tapping on the engine block.
WARNING: Do not tap on any plastic engine components.
5. While tapping on the block, the frequency on the meter should go over 125 hz.

I'm getting tired of changing these. I'm on my second set of OEM sensors and harnesses in one year. Error code goes away for a while then returns. Thinking about throwing this truck in the swamp out back.
I just replaced both knock sensors 5.3 L with new wiring harness. Sealed both sensor boots as directed. All a/c delco parts. Cleared codes. Drove until all readiness codes were complete, same codes as before. SEL is on. Connector is in place correctly and now wonder why the low voltage code is back. Could the PCM have issues or wiring issue between sensors and PCM?
Had a Saturn sl1 1.9 w/ a p0327 code, driving me crazy I had a brand new duralast ks put in and the code is still there. Turns out gm only want u to use their oem ks and any aftermarket ks won’t give a correct voltage reading to the ecu for some reason. A trip to the junkyard help fix the problem
Hi on my gmc I have bank one code .I have two sensors one bad can I still drive it with one good senser.Ty.
What if u change it brand new nd light was off then the check engine light comes back on
They were saying to clean up the ground wire connection. My wire had some rust so it seems to be running better so far

Had anybody solved the "low voltage" aspect after replacing harness and sensors with OE parts and proper torque?
Adding a ground to the cmu straight off the battery is what I'm trying next. It shows it helps in SUVs
changing the harness and making sure the port is free from rust and debris to get a clean metal to metal connection. Using the good AC Delco sensors. Change both while you're there. You might have to take the valley cover off to clean it properly. DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON. If you're gonna put in the work, buy OE parts. RTV around the caps.
Yup. Splice the wires of the bad sensor to the good one and run on one sensor instead of two. I’m done fucking with it.

I just changed my knock sensors and wire connection not a month ago. Now its throwing the p0327 code for knock sensor again... 😠
Me too. Replaced the new sensors and harness with another set. Torqued to spec, everything by the book...no luck.
Same knock sensor issues ... replaced them ... engine and battery light ... stills comes on and off ..does anyone have a solution !

Don’t get aftermarket knock sensors!! AC Delco only! Go to an actual parts store and ohm test them with a multimeter before you bring them home. You want a reading of around 100k ohms. Specs state should read between 93k and 107k ohms of resistance.
So I put in brand new sensors and wiring harnesses and cleaned everything super well and now it says low circuit banks 1 and 2

Hey man I got the same problem I replace mine and I've got all the codes off everywhere except that onethis time I was just got gas and pulled out to the road everything was clear then it come on and almost the car almost quit running
So how did you fix it I’m having the same problem replaced with oem parts and was good for a week and bam came back

The truck in the video is definitely not a 99-02. The steering wheel and cluster give it away.
Anybody ever replace the sensors and when the computer resets itself still gets a low voltage code
I replace them n I still get the knock sensor code. do u think they may have have been bad from factory?

you should torque them at a specific number
Replace sensors and wiring harness twice, OEM parts. Torqued to OEM spec. Thoroughly cleaned the sensor cavity and check for continuity. Still bad.
Had a 2004 yukon with code po332 install a new sensors..after 2 weeks the the check engine light appears agen whit the same code...I'm sooo stressed 😀
Can you keep driving if you got the knock sensors check engine light on?

Funny 😂my 1999 Yukon 5.7 vortex has only one knock sensor on the left side of the engine block right under the starter.

1999 gmc 5.7 vortex engine. This guy is showing two knock sensors under the intake manifold.
