    Everything I wish I knew in one video. I fought this over and over until I watched many videos. Good info. Only thing I'd add, my fluid intrusion came from a failing seal for the plastic heater core connectors.

    I had check engine for both sensors. Changed them out, new harness. cleaned the area, changed intake gasket, and code came back that same day. Drives normal, CEL turns off and on itself 🤷

      That's bizarre. I've heard this happening to some guys, and they can't figure out why. I'd check the ohms at the plug with the multimeter. That will tell you if they are reading right.

    Have you considered doing a video on how to time V6 outboards using the Joe Reeves method of timing?

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried the Joe Reeves timing method before. I didn't like the results. I time the Evinrudes the way the manual says and then set WOT timing on the water. Dangerous, but it gives the best results.

    I have a 2005 Suburban and have went through hell with knock sensors. Getting ready to replace them for the fourth time. I can't get the engine light from not coming back. Even tested the line from the knock sensor wiring to the computer and it had great connection. Going to give it ago again if I it does not work it's going to the shop I am done with it.

      Use Delphi sensors from a reliable source and make sure they read 99k-100k ohms, especially once wired up.

      High temp silicone to stop water from running or pooling up in the sensor cavity.

    I’m can’t get rid of this issue took it to a mechanic I bought the sensors and harness from the dealer ohm them @99 and harness was good also code came back mechanic changed them out again with Delphi and it came back again. I took it back and he said an engine knock must be triggering it . I reset code and drove 60 miles then it came back on cleaned and test pcm checked wires from pcm to ks and it all checked out good. Truck runs good only has 133k on the 4.8 can’t figure it out and it’s ticking me off any ideas would be appreciated

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      On trucks like this I'm guessing it has high miles? I'd test the ohms at the PCM connector. If it was me I might try to relocate them to the sides of the heads where the knock can't really be detected. It's probably possible to bypass them with some sort of resistor. Although that would be an experiment. Maybe think differently and try to figure out why it is knocking and fix that.
