  • We do a dyno comparison on this MK6 GTI going from stock software/hardware to Integrated Engineering's complete Stage 2 hardware/software package. We worked through some issues and ended up landing right where IE claims for these mods. We gained +40whp +86wtq on 91oct.
    Mods:
    IE Cold Air Intake
    IE Front Mount Intercooler
    IE Highflow Catted Downpipe
    IE Stage 2 91oct Software

    Nice video, I have a IE stage 2 93 octane tune. With every possible add on , for a daily driver I'm very happy with the tune . Power delivery nice and linear . Prior to going stage 2 I had their stage 1 tune as well as APR Stage 1 high torque. APR tune was such a mess , all low end torque wasn't fun to drive at all . Felt too aggressive and not in a good way.

    I went from stock to IE stage 1 to IE stage 2 to IE K04 on my 2013 CC. I was pretty underwhelmed with the upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2. My 2013 IHI turbo also could not meet requested boost up top and would drop to 9.5-10 psi by 7,000 rpm. Wastegate was good and no boost leaks either. The jump to K04 was massive but I’m already considering trying another software due to a few concerns with the IE K04 tune based on my logs. Great video as always!! Love your content.

      @@grumpu I’m vaguely familiar with your platform from some friends that had MS3’s. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the biggest gripe with your OEM K04 was reliability and oil consumption? Going above a K04 on these requires quite a bit of fueling mods, so maxing a K04 provides tons of fun with the lowest investment.

Point is just don't make that the reason if you have others as options, as it will generally save you a few bucks also. I think the car is still slow it just sounds better, it does accelerate harder but I get a lot of wheel spin trying to accelerate from 30 mph in 2nd gear it will just slip and when im in 6th gear and try to accelerate it almost bogs like it makes a "thuuuuuuuuudddddddddeeee" noise which i think is because its trying to flow more air through the stock intercooler than it can handle. hey about a week ago i went ie stage 2 93 high torque and pop tune and tcu tune 3600 on my mk7 gti. included mods so far are dp, intake, inlet pipe, tmd. and i have a buddy drives a3 sline (very similar to mk7 gti) but stage 1 with ie same mods except no dp. anyways, we did some pulls and he was keeping up with me and i wasn’t pulling from him like i was expecting. idk if my expectations were just too high or if im not getting the full stage 2 power, but not sure what the reason for that would be. i noticed b4 you download the tune it says they “highly recommend an intercooler” can the tune recognize i dont have an aftermarket intercooler orrr?? but i have friends and heard from quite a lot of ppl that you only need a dp and intake for stage 2. any ideas?

    • @COMotorsports
      @COMotorsports  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bulk of power comes from stage 1, the difference between stage 1 and 2 isn't going to car lengths. Also how stage 2 performs will depend on the additional mods you have. Meaning our highest stage 2 cars have had FMIC, exhaust, intake etc. The FMIC is a big adder as the GTI and 1.8T golf share the same IC, the Golf R stock IC is bigger, and is still too small when being pushed. Can it work sure, but after a couple of spirited runs on the highway you will quickly notice heat soak and a drop in power.
