I think BMW design engineers had a great sense of humour the way they laid everything out for access especially if all I need to do is the air filter! That aside you made tackling these jobs look less daunting in this video. Big thank you and thumbs up.👍
Great video Tom, I believe there be a fair few people benefiting some way or another from the well illustrated step by step video you've put in time and effort creating.
Thanks, hope it helps, just use OEM manifold gaskets and make sure the swirl flap holes are clean so the seals seat correctly on the blanks or the manifolds off again, Should hopefully have the dpf delete vid out tonight 😎👍🏻💪🏼
Thanks mate need any advice just let me know, figure are 285hp, 620 nm u will definitely notice the difference when u put your food down, normal driving is just a bit easier 😂💪🏼😎👍🏻
Thanks mate, It’s all fitted mate, & STG 1 mapped, feels a lot quicker but exhaust not is subtle with std exhaust, can’t wait to stretch its legs with the dragy 😂😎👍🏻
Hi great job love your detailed work which most mechanics wouldn't even do like cleaning manifold etc would you be interested in doing these jobs ? For me on mine thanks
Hi mate would love to, got the misses to do first, but it’s all in my spare time for now, we’re NW based hope your local?, I soaked the inlet overnight so would probably be a full weekend job, just to make sure it clean mate, 😎👍🏻
Hi mate, if the cars healthy you should fly through, but also depends on the moter, the best way is to knock the internals out the std dpf so all looks original, then once mapped they will never know the difference 😎👍🏻
@330dfam thank you mate il get mine gutted then should I gut the cat aswel as its on a e60 2007 lci it's all in the 1 dpf cat aswel or should I leave the cat in and only gut the dpf I'm confused on will it smoke more with the cat gutted
That is up to you mate, personally I’d have a word with whoever is mapping the car after you gut either as they will be able to advise better, for me it was just the dpf as no cat, so an easy choice
Hi mate if yours is the later model m57 with the anti shudder valve like mine, it will 100% need mapping out, you will be ok to drive it to your mappers, but I wouldn’t advise any long journeys or leaving it as engine management light will be on 😎👍🏻
If it’s a 2010 e series it will almost defiantly have the anti shudder valve, you can tell as it’s just in front of the egr valve on the inlet, basically if it looks like mine in the video it has it, any reputable mapper will be able to map it out with a generic map, I would advise a stage 1 as well as it shouldn’t cost any more, or take it to some where with a rolling road, a quick internet search should tell you who is closest to you to map it, would advise ringing them first, they may even be able to do the job for you aswell unless your doing it yourself 😎👍🏻
Following along your videos with my 330d, unfortunately you missed off quite a critical and time consuming part of the video where you clean the caked up engine side of the intake (not the plastic)! 😢
Hi, thanks for watching, yes I agree with you but there is a reason I left that out, as it can be a very fiddly/meticulous job and if you leave any sludge in the ports you can risk it being sucked in, or catching on the valve seats/piston bore loosing compression etc etc, and I felt most people needing to watch the video probably wouldn’t clean properly 🤷🏼♂️, I may be wrong tho, I still need to do the wife’s so that may be a video🤔💪🏼😎
Hi mate most was of eBay, egr blank/swirl flap blanks, filter was direct from pipercross, all seals bmw dealer for the inlet etc, downpipe was direct from darkside, any issues just email suppliers mate to make sure its correct for your car 😎👍🏻
You can drive it a sort journey but the egr need to be mapped out regardless of stage 1 etc, the earlier e46 204 bhp m57 without the anti shudder doesn’t need mapping out 😎👍🏻
Hi Iv just checked and they are still selling it, it’s off eBay, item no, 185276657920, seller was landy321, hope that helps, ps you will need to use sealer between the shudder valve and the delete, but mines not leaked yet 😎👍🏻

Thanks mate hope it helps

Thanks mate, if it helps someone I’m happy 😎👍🏻
Well done mate. Nicely done and a little blood to show for it. Looking forward to the results episode. ✌🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Thanks mate, feels quite a bit quicker now 😎👍🏻
I’m doing the same just have the egr to blank off so handy having this to use as a reference.🤘🏻look forward to seeing what it makes.
Thanks, hope it helps, just use OEM manifold gaskets and make sure the swirl flap holes are clean so the seals seat correctly on the blanks or the manifolds off again, Should hopefully have the dpf delete vid out tonight 😎👍🏻💪🏼

Great job Tom! Can’t wait to see the new downpipe fitted 😊
Thanks mate, It’s all fitted mate, & STG 1 mapped, feels a lot quicker but exhaust not is subtle with std exhaust, can’t wait to stretch its legs with the dragy 😂😎👍🏻
that is just stunning content bro fairplay to ye i enjoyed every second of it bro amazing work done you deserve a few large cold ones 💪💪💪💪💪💪👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks buddy 👍😎
Thanks mate, car feels a lot better, just need to get some draggy times done 👌😎👍🏻

Thanks mate 😎👍🏻💪🏼

Just about to tackle the egr delete myself and thinking about the dpf delete pipe… just wondering how do you get through MOT without the dpf on?
Hi mate, if the cars healthy you should fly through, but also depends on the moter, the best way is to knock the internals out the std dpf so all looks original, then once mapped they will never know the difference 😎👍🏻
Hi mate what the difference between a downpipe and gutting the dpf and cat out
Basically the same mate, but replacing the downpipe for 3” will flow better, but you wouldn’t notice the difference without turbo mods etc
@330dfam thank you mate il get mine gutted then should I gut the cat aswel as its on a e60 2007 lci it's all in the 1 dpf cat aswel or should I leave the cat in and only gut the dpf I'm confused on will it smoke more with the cat gutted
@@330dfam ??

@330dfam ok mate thank you
for the swirl and EGR delete/coolant removal do you need to reprogram the car? can I drive it as is?
Hi mate if yours is the later model m57 with the anti shudder valve like mine, it will 100% need mapping out, you will be ok to drive it to your mappers, but I wouldn’t advise any long journeys or leaving it as engine management light will be on 😎👍🏻
@330dfam thank you for letting me know. Do you know if the 2010 model has that? Also do you have any advice on where and how to do the remap?
If it’s a 2010 e series it will almost defiantly have the anti shudder valve, you can tell as it’s just in front of the egr valve on the inlet, basically if it looks like mine in the video it has it, any reputable mapper will be able to map it out with a generic map, I would advise a stage 1 as well as it shouldn’t cost any more, or take it to some where with a rolling road, a quick internet search should tell you who is closest to you to map it, would advise ringing them first, they may even be able to do the job for you aswell unless your doing it yourself 😎👍🏻
@@330dfamI appreciate your advice and time!
No problem any time, good luck hope you get the work done soon 😎👍🏻

Hi please send me a link to all the parts uve used cheers mate

@330dfam cheers do you have any links also I'm not sure of the swirl flap blanks what size I need for a bmw e60 525d 3.0 2007lci
Can you drive the car like this without a map ?
You can drive it a sort journey but the egr need to be mapped out regardless of stage 1 etc, the earlier e46 204 bhp m57 without the anti shudder doesn’t need mapping out 😎👍🏻
I cant find this egr delete kit anywhere
