The choir and orchestra were from Berklee College in Boston, where three of the original Dream Theater members (Petrucci, Portnoy and Myung) studied decades ago.

I always get a laugh how James fucked up the lyrics at the end where he said "in joy and joy" rather than "know the joy in life"
Regarding the orchestra section, it felt boring to me at first listen, ngl, but the more I learned how to appreciate classical music, it just made sense and became one of the highlights of the song for me. There are chills running down my spine when the orchestra starts playing the main theme.
Remember, DT songs are growers, not showers (except for the technical aspect lol)

If you guys want to hear a killer live vocal performance by Dream Theater check out Live at the Marquee "Another Hand / The Killing Hand" This was before the singer ruptured his vocal chords (in a food poison incident) It is from their first live album.
