i was enjoying music first, then i listened to the story and ngl it got me from the start, everything seemed fishy......then it stressed me out......i was looking what happened in the end so badly like i was scared......then the end was peaceful.......this song gave me emotions i didnt know existed

This tune goes into the annals of truly great prog music tracks. It's right up there
the last true Dream Theater masterpiece ... the Intro is still spinechillin' after all those years ...well aged as a good wine.....

This song is a 2009 song... I remeber I saw my first DT concert in 2004 when they played in a small town between Florence and Lucca. It was the year of Octavarium, they opened with Panic Attack. I wonder in the meanwhile, they tasted memorable good wines and visited old and historic mannors worth a song in the next album
Errata corrige, it was 2005. They played after Labirinth and Angra and was memorable. Damn, time flies fast...

The band's last great masterpiece. After that, it was literally over. The albums that came later, I have to hunt for a good song or two. And it seems that they already felt that because the end of this song is so beautiful, so epic, so fabulous that it makes you want to cry. As if it was a farewell, which actually happened to Portnoy. Say what you want, but when Dream Theater made songs like this, there was no competition, there was no other option but to bow your head and revere the genius of the greatest Prog Metal band on the planet.

Remember, it was Portnoy's decision to leave. He thought he was joining Avenged Sevenfold but they didn't want him . Now he wastes his life in second rate and cover bands.

Yes, is about an experience that petrucci had in italy
they are related to the history of the Hannibal movie. In real story, his family had a vineyard and his brother helped him to do his murders. In the story of the song they invite him to visit his house, to tell his macabre stories, then he thinks he will be kept arrested and murdered but they let him go to tell ther stories and "The Count of Tuscany"
From What I Can Tell, It's Based On A Story Of When John Patrucci Meant Sebastiano Capponi, Who Told Him About How Hannibal Lectar Is Partially Based On His Brother, Niccolò, And How WWII Soldiers Hid In Wine Barrels In His Basement Which They Never Managed To Get Out Of, As Well As, If The Song Is To Be Believed (I Can't Find Any Outside Source For This) Showing Him An Altar With Behind It The Body Of A Saint, These, Naturally, Lead To Him Being Quite Scared, And (Again Basing This Solely On The Song) When Sebastiano Noticed, He Tried To Reassure Him, Saying He Wasn't Going To Kill Him And He's Free To Go, And Even Suggesting He Tell People About This Occurance, Which He's Done Via This Song.

muy buen tema. en algunas canciones dream theater sonaba como una banda de deaath metal, pero se fue arreglando siendo un poco mas melodica y eso los salvo en la fama. pero john petrucci conoce mucho de musica, jordan tambien, ellos fueron evolucionando mucho. el mejor album para mi es el de a dramatic turn of events, le sigue el de dream theather. es un grupo unico donde meten partes clasicas en heavy metal, las partes en la guitarra en clean son muy buenas, hay que tener mucha creatividad y conocer mucho de musica para lograr una isnpiracion asi .
