  • Today's workout is our second interval training day in SERIES 3. We'll do various exercises at a regular pace to warm up for 10 minutes then we'll pick up the pace. Today we will go fast for 2 minutes, slow it down for 1 1/2 minutes and repeat for 4 intervals. Please find the pace that suits you best for your 2 minutes of fast walking/jogging. The speed you go for the fast 2 minute interval needs to be geared to YOUR fitness level. Since we are now into series 3, you can really start to push yourself. Try to go as fast as you can (but also keeping in mind any past injuries, etc., and ensuring you do what is safe for YOU).
If you're wondering how to lose weight fast, interval training is the way to go. Often people do the same workouts at the same pace which doesn't give fast results. Today we are ramping up the pace a bit since we are now in series 3. If you are new here, please start with series 1 and 2 since each series we progress to a bit more of a challenging workout so you GET RESULTS. Today's workout for myself is a total of 3859 steps (your pace will determine how many steps you get in so this will definitely fluctuate depending on how fast you go).
    Who is this workout for?
This interval training program is suitable for anyone who can currently walk for 30 minutes 4-6 times a week. If you are at that fitness level then you can start this program (suitable exercise for seniors, beginners, and people of all ages). Interval training is geared for burning calories and fat, building muscle, and getting past that plateau effect that so many people hit. Interval training uses brief bursts of high-intensity activity which provides the effects people are looking for...more results!
    The breakdown of each day:
    Day 1: Intervals: 1 minute fast and 1 minute slow x 7
Day 2: 25 minute cardio and strength workout
Day 3: Intervals: 2.0 minutes fast and 1.5 minutes slow intervals x 4
Day 4: Stretching, rest day or 20 minute workout (up to how you are feeling)
    Day 5: 60 minute workout
Day 6: 20 minute heart pumping strength workout
    Day 7: 20 minute workout

Good morning Jules! I have a celebration to share with you... I got on the scale this morning and officially LOST 60lbs! I started this journey in April and have worked out with you every morning.I started with your beginner level videos and have completed all of the interval series, your 28 day strength series and now do the 5 day strength series sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row. Thank you for your dedication. I am forever grateful to you! You are a true inspiration!! :)

My words cannot express how excited I am for you!!!!!!!!!! I am sitting here with a MASSIVE smile on my face, Valerie. I am truly so happy for you and for how you have changed your life. The fact that you started in April is also amazing progress, but also safe progress (meaning, it's not TOO fast). It's a healthy lifestyle change that can be maintained and continued. Absolutely awesome to read about your progress! I hope you are insanely proud of yourself for working so hard to get to where you are today.🫂

Clean eating and working my (used to be) big buns off (literally)... Hitting 50 at close to 200lbs. was my initial motivation. Feeling amazing and a new wardrobe (i've gone from a size 18 to a size 4) has kept me going. Thank you again for your amazing energy and inspiration.

Many thanks for these interval workouts. I'm 71 and it's been a challenge but am now managing to keep the pace. Thanks to you and Improved Health I've dropped 35 pounds. A few more to go and I'll be back to my young self. :) Belly fat is stubborn. Would be very grateful for a 10 minute workout that concentrates on the lower abdomen. Again, a very big thank you.

@@ImprovedHealth No, I'm in Louisville, KY, USA. I'm always looking for new workouts and I'm so glad I found yours. I'm outside often, however, winters here are very cold and gloomy and last winter was no exception. It was hard to get adequate exercise indoors; however, I think 2 of your workouts daily might be just the thing.

Lots of pluses to this workout: Your smile - contagious. Being able to see you do levels for the "out/out, in/in" move to use more leg muscles. The font for the word BREATHE. The dynamic colors for GET READY and HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY. Seeing in writing that it was time to SLOW DOWN and COOL DOWN. And, being to hold the stretches for a good amount of time.

Squats can definitely leave a 'sore' feeling for a few days after but after doing the squats regularly (I mean 1-3 times a week), your legs will get used to that movement and they will not get that same intensity of soreness. I'm happy to read you enjoyed this workout.

@@farizazainulariffin7710 If you are feeling 'soreness' in your quads, it is okay to do a cardio workout...you don't need to take a day off cardio. The cardio will actually work out some of the lactic acid from your muscles and make your legs feel better. You just don't want to do any strength training for the legs or squat exercises until the soreness goes away:) Ultimately, you have to listen to your body, too. We are all different and you might need a bit more rest after a challenging interval workout but a gentle or beginner cardio workout should be just fine to do.

I wonder if please can you tell me which are your more advance workouts because I'm doing exercises and home for a long, long time and my pace and rhythm is pretty fast . I was trying to find more quick workouts in your videos and I found and like this one . Could you please tell me if you have more ?? Thanks so very much !!

Hi! Sure thing. I create 3 levels so the most challenging workouts will be the ones in the ‘intermediate’ playlists. If you go to the playlists, look for the intermediate level workouts. Most of those are around the same speed and level of intensity.

I would highly recommend starting with strength training if you want to get stronger, while also including cardio daily.
