I love this old school "golden age" violinist. He plays in the now forgotten "grand manner" style. His approach reminds me of the late great David Oistrakh. Simple, beautiful, elegant, and unpretentious artistry served straight up. No gimmicks or grimaces. Thank you Mr. Zalai!!
Yes; I cannot stand all the head-tossing and grimaces. It's refreshing to see the noble bearing, like Heifetz, Kreisler, Zimbalist, Stern, et. al. It allows you to concentrate on the beautiful music. Histrionics distract the auditor from the music.
If you don't, the Devil gets ya!, or your teacher, one. My teacher broke a bow over my shoulder on a week that I was playing basketball and neglecting practice. "Ju played this bedder last Veek!! Vut haff ju been do-ink?" "CRACK!"
every time i listen to this i almost cry, i dont know why but this piece of music gives me a sense of hope, especially when i'm sad, it somehow reminds me how beautiful the world is. but i can't explain why, it simply defies logic.
Best Devil ever. The definitive Devil. Maestro, you play this masterpiece from your heart to the back of the auditorium, so naturally as the wind blowing through and lifting us all along. Spellbinding.
this recording is miles better than some others i've heard! it's not necessarily as fast as some other interpretations in the grand ol' world of youtube, but it's actually CLEAN. some recordings i've heard are fast at the expense of accuracy, and i never really realized how great this sonata could sound until i stumbled across this video. thanks so much for uploading a clean, yet still expressive version-- you have no idea how long i've been waiting to find something like this!

Beautiful! I don’t know anything about actually playing violin but a lot of people seem to fidget and move around a lot when they play. This man does not and it was way more enjoyable this way
12:08 isn't that suppose to be a cadenza? But why the piano accompaniment just made it so idk I have mixed feelings about this it sounds good but it feels sacrilegious
Last year I saw Antal playing piano in Brasília, and was a amazing concert. Today I seek for this music and the first result is him playing this great song.

Thank you Mr Zalaï, I particularly appreciate your interpretation, I would like to know the luthier who created your Violin, I love the sound, for yourself what a feat ...
Greek Mythology of the Halycon the transformation into winged birds inspired the music arrangements acoustic guitar percussion in music bed application.
His violin may be from a famous maker, I don't know; but it isn't good enough for him. I notice his finger-stops on the strings are done excellently, but on this violin they don't *pop* like they should, displaying his well-done execution of them. This violin has a rather muffled tone, and doesn't have clear voicing. Just my opinion. His playing is better than his violin, and that's not right. I read that he wrote a piano part for the K. Cadenza, which begs the question, whatever happened to the violinist-composers? They seem rare these days, and it's a shame. The repetoire needs to be expanded IMHO, and fiddlers need to be part of the answer. It certainly isn't because violinists don't have a good musical education these days; they have the best.
Concordo plenamente. O sr. Zalai é um violinista incrível!

It's the "I play for music not for money" approach :D
Exactly. David Oistrakh is who I thought of when watching and hearing Antal play. A very solid artist.
Couldn't agree more!
I love the old school as well. Not because I am a lot older !

I heard that who learns this piece never misses a trill anymore.
Haha probably

He is one of the most talented violinists to emerge in a long time!

First time I heard of a piano accompaniment with the Cadenza! It's amazing!!!!!
I also watch your Paganini 24.I play the violin myself and I must say I've learnt a lot from your playing. It is like learning a great lesson.

Love this! He makes it sound so easy.
makes it looks easy too. he is probably top five ever in terms of bow control and his stance has him looking calm no matter how difficult the piece is

Thanks for your answer and I think violin is stradivarius !!!!!
Greek Mythology of the Halycon the transformation into winged birds inspired the music arrangements acoustic guitar percussion in music bed application.
Where did you bought the Kreisler Cadenza?
Does anyone know what violin is he playing on?
I'm pretty sure this is his strad, but can't tell

i think he skipped a section of the cadenza
Do you think his extra chin gives him better stability points

But it should be cadenza solo
He wrote a piano accompaniment to the cadenza

OMG thats y ladys crazy about violinist. lol
The piano is playing way too loud to hear the solo
As much as I respect his technical wizardly this sounds too much like a drawn out etude with the sole purpose of just cranking out the notes.....
