Dear Prof. Zalai, Thank you enormously for sharing this impeccable, exhilarating performance with a huge and appreciative audience. Your amazing hands are the BEST violin hands I have ever seen. Your thrilling wrist vibrato is second to none. This video is fit for a time capsule! Love and admiration from Lilian Duval
Maestro Zalai, WOW! I have listened to a lot of great violinist in my life, but you hit the spot. I’ve never seen such an unflappable stability of rhythm and precision with such transparency of extreme expression of warm and wonderful emotionality in the beauty that comes from your bow in every phrase. Your playing goes straight to the heart, and there is nothing in the least bit mannered about your playing. While you definitely have your say in what you want to express in your music, in the telling of your own unique and wonderful story with nuance tenderness and grand expression, you are at the same time at home and in unison with the orchestra that supports you. You are not one of these self-congratulatory soloists who could care less if they are in accord with the orchestra. You are a capable of being one with the orchestra, but at the same time able to express an extreme amount of individuality, lyricism, AND when you express your self to the utmost, it yet seems as if it is Tchaikovsky himself who is singing. Bravo.
Dearest Antal, I can't believe this video was added 3 years ago and I'm just seeing it now. I remember when I first discovered you more than 10 years ago, it was this piece of music that was the first I heard from you! I listened to it over and over, and was devastated when the video was taken down. Seeing this today makes me happier than you know, and I'm playing it now for my baby son! I'm so excited that he'll be able to grow up listening to my favorite violinist play one of favorite pieces of music! I hope you're doing well, Madeleine (your biggest American fan)
Dear Madeleine, It's so nice to hear from you, and congratulations for the beautiful news!! I deleted the previous copy of this performance because that was split into several videos and this one is the complete performance on a single video file. I hope you're doing great, warmest greetings! Antal

Very well played. Please consider Leopold Auer’s edition. He changes a few things which makes it more violinistic. He also makes cuts in the third movement to remove some of the redundancy. I think it makes this piece a lot stronger. You’re such a great artist and it seems that your approach to violin playing leans towards the style of the older great artists of the past. They all played the Auer edition of this concerto and I think it would fit your playing as well.
I am sorry to ask, but are you currently in a relationship? Is just that you seem to be very hansome to me. I apologize if this may cause you any inconvenience, but it's just curiosity. 😅 God bless you and have a very lovely and sucessful carrer! 🙏🏼
Hi, it's very nice of you, thank you! But this video was made in 2005 (when I was 24 years old). Now I'm already married, for 6 years. Best wishes to you!

Antal Zalai is the Master of violin in classic way!!!
FANTASTICO. RICORDA OISTRAKH.
ChE BEL SUONO, GRANDE
一句話拉的完美太棒了!
He's holding hands with Oistrach, Perlman, Hann, Mutter. Among the best ever.

Breakneck tempo and it's still immaculately tight! Bravo!
Потрясающе!!! Нет слов просто!!! Мощное исполнение, а скрипач просто Волшебный!!!

Wellspring of emotion the violin evokes and the violin virtuoso akin to Italian Rennaissance Architect of Music Theory.
Гениально!

Excelente interpretación, un gran saludo y felicitaciones desde Colombia, Sur América! :)
Sonido puro! Un poco corto de pasión...

OMG
how come there aren't any sibelius or brahms performances of you on youtube?

Tremolo undulating quivering tremulous resonance attunement akin to violin virtuoso polyphonic ensemble. Timpani percussion instrument ancient origins.
