Hi Tyler! I don't regret anything I have not done while studying. Keep living life. That is the best school you can ever attend. The biggest drawback in the western side of the world is the greed for money and getting "success" judged by the amount of money you have accumulated. Family, health , peace, religion ... all the things that make live really worth living is thrown by the wayside. In most countries and mostly the US, people live to work. The opposite should be true. If chasing money and reputation is not your thing, then work to live is the better option.
You were quite happy in Spain where you had time to live, explore and live your passions. When you get to fifty, you realize that what people think about you is not important at all. When you get to sixty, you realize people never thought anything about you at all. So you wasted a lot of time instead of doing the things that you will really regret not doing when you get older.
But it is good to see a video from you again. Keep them coming.

Great insights Jacques. I tend to shy away from the word regret, as I’m a strong believer in leaving the past where it belongs. While my past is written, I hope others of a younger generation might benefit from these tips.

Hey bro.. Great insight and very sincere. I spent 5 years in college and for 3 of the 5 years, I worked full time doing various jobs. I also studied abroad, and had several life changing travel experiences. I could've traveled without college, but the Uni definitely gave me the infrastructure to do so. However, I still think college in the USA is a big misleading "scam." There's no way in hell it should cost the amount it does.. But hey, we know that (even if we're barely adults when we start). I still had to use loans to help pay for living and tuition, but the jobs I had were amazing. While I think you missed out on a lot of social opportunities, you saved a lot of time and money by finishing so fast. That way, you started working and saving right away, and since leaving your office job, you've created a pretty interesting life for yourself. Hindsight is always 20/20 I suppose.
Anyways, if I could go back and restart my whole college career over, I would've chosen journalism and spanish as my majors. I studied geography and GIS (geographic information systems), which is a really useful skill to have, but I realized I hate being on a computer for 40 hours a week. My dream job was to always work for National Geographic, but because I chose a major that was rather difficult, combined with my heavy workload, my grades suffered. Anyways, life is a fun ride and while I dwell on the past sometimes, life is far too short to live in regret. I think the most relieving thing about being able to move and live abroad is to know thath we've already done it and that we can do it on very little. The USA is far too expensive to live unless you have connections (like a family place to stay for a while to save up), or a great job that allows you to actually afford paying off student loans AND the ridiculous cost of living. If you get the big job offer, you're then going to sacrifice a lot of your other dreams.. Anyways, working for yourself is the ultimate freedom, and knowning you can do it from anywhere in the world is awesome. Many people are just too afraid to leave home, so they'll gladly stay in their debt trap lifestyle just because they can't jump that barrier.
Good video bro, I hope you keep uploading. You will definitely have success on youtube if you keep it up.. Although the dang algorithm is so frustrating sometimes. I got to a point (on my English channel) where I was so sick of working so hard for so little views that I just created a Spanish channel and it's going great for me. Now that I finally learned how the algorithm works, my channel is being promoted. If I want to start another English channel and have growth and make it profitable, I have to choose a niche and be VERY deliberate about the videos I make. That's how the algorithm rewards you. Bouncing around topics can really confuse the robotic algorithm and it doesn't care how objectively good the video is. Take care bro.

Always good to hear from you man. I’m excited to check out your Spanish channel! I realized toward the end of last year that the algorithm favored my Spanish content as well. My channel has been an interesting case study in the importance of niche, which I think I’ve finally found, but time will tell. Thanks for reaching out

@@Tyler_Teacher no problem man. Keep making high quality content.. it’s only a matter of time. If the content is good, people will binge watch all the videos. My old videos on this Spanish channel that originally has 1-2 k views are now blowing up because people are finally discovering the channel. The problem I had with my English Channel is that I got a bunch of Spanish subs who don’t watch the videos because they don’t understand English.. so no matter how I hard I worked on a video, it didn’t matter.. INSANELY frustrating. I think your channel is still small enough to rebound and have big time success because quality is quality… but you should be aware of that. Many of your subs don’t understand English and certain videos/topics won’t make them click and therefore the people who DO want to see this content might not ever find it.. I hope that makes sense. It took me over 200 videos to finally learn from that and I thought I could overcome it.. but idk. I’m gonna start a new English Channel soon. Take care brotha.
Also, if you get to a point where you’re not growing at say, 100 videos or so, you can always start a new channel (which is last resort) and re upload the videos you mitt identify with niche wise to a new channel. I hope that isn’t necessary, but many big TH-camrs have mentioned that strategy. I use Vid IQ and channel makers for content strategy. Great channels.
