    Thanks for this very helpful video. It’s very interesting for me because I make labels often for bags and other projects. I don’t have the ribbon attachments but I saw that quilt tape which is washing away also will be very handy to use working with ribbon. Have a nice day with much creativity.

    Am so enjoying these videos - thank you so much for providing such inspiration and such clear explanation and visuals . It is great to see the demonstrations and the up - close camera shots of the feet and stitches you select for the various projects. I especially like the various practical projects too and your tips for success e.g types of stabilisers etc. I bought my amazing 9450 machine during the lockdown period and , as a newbie to all things sewing , I really value learning new sewing and quilting techniques through watching U tube videos. I would love to see more on programming stitches , practical use of accessories e.g knee lifter , working with different materials etc.

    What lovely ideas. Loving the ribbon guide.
    Will it work on a Janome 5270QDC please?

      Hiya sorry for the delay couldn't get to a 5270 until this morning.Yes! Use the thinner pad ,shorter screw into the first hole on the right side of the stitch plate (next to the 10) xx

    Thanks so much! I didn't realize that there was that foot that could embroider around a curved object (thought I'd need an embroidery machine for that!) 👏

    Just found you. I have a Skyline 9 as well so I love seeing the stitches that I haven't used yet so I can see what they look like and how they stitch out. I have found that to press your ribbons to flatten them after they have been tied onto chocolate or just got crumpled in storage, use a hair straightener (looks like a curling iron but to make hair flat instead of curly), heat it up and then stick one end of the into the straightener and close it and run the ribbon through and it easily straightens the ribbon and makes it ready to reuse in your projects. That ribbon with the blue leaves and the pink flowers would look great with Christmas green leaves and red flowers would look terrific as a Christmas embellishment. I would have never thought of the sailboat and waves! Thanks for the great ideas.
    I am a Yank so pardon me for bringing up something personal. I am a retired RN (nurse) and seeing that dark spot on your hand bothered me. It didn't look like a typical mole but that could just be the camera angle. I hope you have shown it to your doctor or a dermatologist so they can see it. I have many splotches myself, but none that look like the one on your left hand. I think it is the left, I have no idea how you can reverse a video so the printed things are in reverse from normal.

      Hiya no problem, thanks for caring! I have had it checked but I have had it for as long as I can remember. My Dad used to tell me it was from eating too much chocolate🤣
      Glad you enjoyed the video and great tip about the straighteners! Xx

    • @gailrodgers3079
      @gailrodgers3079 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@janomestitchclubuk I should be plastered with them as I eat so much chocolate myself. It is going on 9PM and I am fighting the urge to go make some brownies or chocolate chip cookies. I'm glad you have had that checked out. You can take the nurse out of the hospital but you can't take the hospital out of the nurse. My ex died of some rare skin cancer in Dec. 2022. Glad he had someone else to see him through that as he was a horrible patient.
      I keep the straightener in the sewing room and it is so much easier to use than a big iron while trying not to burn your fingers.

    Great tutorial, thank you! Could you use other fabrics in the Ribbon guide? I have the lettering on my Janome too and it does seem to come out neater if you stabilise the fabric or have thicker layers. I recently discovered that it is particularly neat on cork fabric to make handmade labels! I just need to learn how to keep things straight!

    • @janomestitchclubuk

      As long as they are the right width I don't see why not. Am off in search of my cork scraps...great idea for bags etc!

    Which needle do you use?

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That depends on the thread thickness but usually a Janome purple tip...good for no skipped stitches. X

    I have a 6600 and a 7700 jenome, do all feet work with all jenome machines?

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both of these models are category C so the feet that came with both will be interchangeable for others double check with the spares catalogue (link below) that you're getting the correct version of the foot.A few will be specific for cat C and others will say cat C/D. This is the UK catalogue but part numbers will be the same wherever you are if not UK. Xx

    Hi I was wondering which thread you used

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi There, I usually use Gutermann, Madeira or Coats. For this kind of thing I would usually have bobbin fill on the bobbin which is finer, Janome do a bobbin fill or Bottom Line by Superior. Xx

    How do you apply Rick rack. Would the ribbon foot be good for that?

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually use a small zigzag but I have used the French knots/star stitches before in a contrast colour .Anything that keeps the ricrac feeding through straight is helpful so your stitch is centered so either the foot or the guide.I quite like a fat ricrac so the attachment gives me more width choices. Xx

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All kinds but nothing too thick as it can lose the stitch definition.! Variagated is my favourite...Gutermann or Madeira but usually just a bobbin fill underneath like Bottom Line in your bobbin

    Hi Julia, I love your videos. I am wondering if your text can go Vertical on the ribbon, instead of horizontal. This video is a year old and I am not sure if you will see it. Thanks

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Debbie it has to stitch vertically but if you want to make labels etc maybe take a look at this one where I show how.(I think it will answer what you are trying to do! Xx
