❤I have watched a couple of your older videos for the 9450 and 9400 for refreshers, thank you for your clear and informative tutorials. I was trying to remember how to do ruler work and decorative stitches. 😊 thank you
Thank you so much Kim. These videos are so helpful as the paper manual tells you very little. You have made me more aware of how versatile this machine is.
Thank you Kim so much for these videos. I have just purchased a 9450 today and tried to thread it with the manual and use the stitches. but your videos are life savers. You are my new BFF!!
I’ve had this machine for a year and I almost sold it because it is so hard to learn. Your tutorials are really great. Far better than the Janome videos. I agree with Marion Curtis that the manual is terrible. I look forward to your other tutorials. Thanks again. I think I will keep my 9400.
Good morning! I want to express my appreciation for your tutorials. Unfortunately my LQS has terrible customer service. The only help I received when I purchased my 9400 was loading it in the car. I am quite the novice so your videos are my only learning tool. Again, many thanks! Annalee, Arkansas, USA
Hi Annalee: Thank you for your lovely comments. I am so glad that I'm able to help you out with your Janome 9400. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send me an email at kim@chatterboxquilts.com and I'll help you out. :)
Thank you again Kim for another fabulous video! So helpful to have for my machine - WOW I had NO idea how much this machine was capable of until you :) Your videos are top in my Favourited Sewing Videos!
Thanks! You may not even need the notepad - just rewatch the videos with wine and chocolate ;) If there are videos that you really want to watch several times, just make a Playlist on TH-cam and add that video to it. Then you'll always know where to find it.
Hi Kim, I want to use decorative stitches on a quilt sandwich. Can I use foot AD with dec stitches? The screen always tells me to use foot A or F. I love your videos. They have saved so many of my projects! Thank you!
Hi Patricia: Thanks for watching! If you go slowly, you can use the AD Acufeed Flex foot for doing decorative stitches. It's not really set up to do these types of stitches however have done them in the past and, as long as you take your time, they will stitch out okay.
Great tutorial! Question...is there a way to set a decorative stitch not to repeat? I'd like to use D41 (snowflake) to add snowflakes to a pillow but only want it to stitch one at a time. Is that possible? Thank you : )
Not sure of the exact number but several hundred and then even more as you adjust the width and length and mirror some of them. All of the decorative stitches are shown in the machine manual which can be found online on the Janome website.
You can reduce the stitch width as you approach the corner to reduce it down and then increase it again after you have rounded the corner. You can also use the tapering feature if you have a Janome MC9450 and if you are using one of the stitches on which you can use this feature.

Hi Marion: Glad you are finding the videos helpful. I could go on and on as there are so many things this machine can do.

These tips have been really helpful, thank you
I'm so glad!
Thank you for the clear videos. You are very helpful.
thanks Kim! That was helpful, I didn't realize there was another page to select stitches. Everyday I am learning something on this !
You're welcome. It's not very obvious that there are more pages for the stitches.

You're welcome, Kathleen! I'm glad that you are finding value in these videos on the Janome 9400.
Excellent, Kim! I plan to rewatch all of your videos on the 9400 with a notepad so I don't forget any of the info you've covered.

You can hold the lock stitch button down and it will only stitch one repeat/iteration of the stitch.
How many character designs total are there, Kim? Thanks so much for the video!

How do you set the machine when you get to a corner and don’t want to distort the stitch?
You can reduce the stitch width as you approach the corner to reduce it down and then increase it again after you have rounded the corner. You can also use the tapering feature if you have a Janome MC9450 and if you are using one of the stitches on which you can use this feature.
