It's finally out! Lots of great things have been going on since my last video so this one has taken some extra time. Very happy to work with numerous talented people on this one including Chokepoint Games of the famous Sins of the Prophets mod. Very great team with lots of great people!
I also have started a Patreon to help support and get fan feedback on future films! I have many new upcoming films already filling the pipeline and would like your input on which ones to do, naming ships, canon battles and much more. It already has directors commentary on all of my previous films as well. Check it out here: www.patreon.com/brussellstudios
Thank you all and hope you enjoy
I thought there was a very SotP vibe to this. Great job!
It should be noted: The Elites admired the humans persistence, honor, and sacrifice even against overwhelming odds of the full Covenant might. This was one of the reasons some Elites joined the humans during "The Great Schism;" aka, Halo 3. They believed the Prophets were wrong in not allowing the humans to join their Covenant.
The newer elites inducted into the Covenant right around the time Arbiter was still running around as shipmaster were not as indoctrinated into the anti-human bias. At the very least, they believed that humanity would definitely have been better Covie frontline troops than the cowardly grunts.
Of course, this growing sentiment of "Maybe the prophets are wrong about this" couldn't be allowed to stand. You know what happened then through the events of Halo 2.
@@robofreak425 Imagine shielded Elites tanking hits, with a escort of Human Marines providing precise rifle fire on enemy foreheads? Grunts out of a job.
Lower class Elites might have wondered, but the High Councilors and Military Commanders had been told Humanity had rejected peace and instead started destroying Holy Artifacts. This was to cover up why, after cleansing a planet of humans, all those Forerunner Relics that were detected had disappeared, and to cover up humanity's direct connection to the Forerunner.
Well, some Sanghelli respected the humans. Others bought in to the Prophets' party line. It was a moot point, anyway. Humanity would never submit to an alien theocracy. Some of the Outer Colonies might, sure, but not everyone.
@@Cailus3542 you never know, considering humanity was faced with extinction if there was an option to join (and maybe change their mindset slowly from the inside) it would definitely go about differently.
"I will not sacrifice this planet. We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They glass entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And *I* will make them pay for what they've done!" -UNSC Captain
Jean-Luc has called. He wants his angry appearance back.
This was utterly incredible! I love the inclusion of voice actors, subtitles, more obscure UNSC warships, and the pyrrhic nature of space combat against the Covenant. Even victory was hollow.
Old halo space combat was desperate. UNSC would throw ships to the slaughter to down just one Covie ship of any class. They are Terrifying Shielded, Armored, and Massive Juggernauts that outclassed the UNSC in every way, especially technology. All the UNSC had was a Armored plated ship built around a really big gun, and missiles. The Armor/hull/crews tended to melt to slag on any impact.
It is somewhat disturbing to realise that the UNSC's only viable tactic was overwhelming numbers. Over 27 years of war, just imagine how many people died in space alone, on both sides. Hell, at the end, the UNSC barely had a navy left, although the Covenant did take catastrophic losses in the final months of the war.
@@Cailus3542 The Covenant was able to lose hundreds of warships, and a mobile repair and refit station that had enough armaments to fight entire UNSC warfleets off. The Prophet of Truth's reaction was essentially; "Eh, whatever. We have more where that came from." If the UNSC had lost that many ships at ANY single point in the war, they would have capitulated in a year at most. It shows just how futile their struggle was.
I really believe that a Halo space strategy game would not sell well because the UNSC is expected to slaughter it units just defeat one Covie Carrier. Sins of the Prophets mod however? Hell yah.
@@synth8519 If you consider all of it, the Covenant lost the vast majority of their fleet in 2552. Between Reach, Alpha Halo, Earth, the fall of High Charity, Onyx, the civil war and other events (the NOVA bombs, for instance), the Covenant military was devastated.
Bear in mind as well that before Reach, it was rare for large UNSC and Covenant fleets to amass and fight. Halo Wars actually touches on this, as the Covenant didn't have enough ships to both attack humanity and protect their own space.
Most engagements were relatively small compared to the huge battles at the end of the war. That's one reason why the UNSC thought that Reach was safe, as it was so well fortified that only a vast Covenant armada could hope to take the planet. The UNSC didn't think that the Covenant had enough ships to spare for an attack on that scale.
Microsoft and 343 may be incompetent sacks of lies, but through the fans this franchise survives. Thank you for this.
The fact Sins of the Prophets is the best Halo space combat game is a utter shame. Its a mod. A GREAT mod.
@@Daginni1 I really need to try it at some point. I assume you need to buy the base game right?
@@Borgron Sins of a Solar Empire should be fairly cheap, given its age. There are also amazing Star Trek and Star Wars mods.
@@Cailus3542 cool, thanks.
@@Borgron You should. Do it. Its a very simple install. And the base game of Sins of a Solar Empire is already a great game.
That Halbert really lived up to the namesake of a destroyer, had some of the biggest balls in the fleet.
Armored plate that would make the IJN Yamato Battleship blush, surrounding a huge gun? The UNSC fleet is a bunch of A-10 Warthogs. Big hits, heavy armor.
... too bad the aliens overmatch said armor by making it literally boil. It is utterly terrifying to fight the Covenant...
Halberd Class Destroyers are my favourite ship design in Halo. Beautiful ship
This is the best animation of Halo space battles I have probably ever seen, the weaponry design, the UNSC flak canons, the covenants anti missile point defense being little lasers was just magnificent
Greatly appreciated
@@brussellstudiosany chance you'll do an animation of oni fleet assets ambushing and tearing apart a small covenant fleet with a Thanatos, point blank prowlers, and destroyers?
Always a chance. I do like the prowlers and Thanatos
@@brussellstudios yeah oni tearing apart a covenant logistic fleet in retribution sounds wonderful.
My brother in the fight. This is absolutely amazing. I - the Able being chased by those 3 plasma torpedoes? BEAUTIFUL shot. I knew what was gonna happen but I was still freaking out a bit 😅 the music, the lighting, the EVERYTHING. thank you for including me in this!
Thank you always for the kind words and for adding your voice to it!
This Battle reminded me of your camera angle style, good to see the Halo community getting more active like this 👍
Love the inclusion of the Able class
I wonder how many assets were from Sins of the Prophets mod? That mod has so many beautiful UNSC/Covie ship designs.
@@Daginni1 All of the ship models seen in this video were supplied by SoTP. We worked fairly heavily with Brussel to help him out with this project.
@@BaconShelf Absolutely amazing mod. I wish 343 did something official for Halo space combat.
@@Daginni1 Nah, theyve proven that they are just incompetent when it comes to halo, its for the best that they havent touched the space aspect yet.
Yes finally the Unsc catching a space w
Is so fitting for Halo that the total loss of a fleet, and its reinforcements, could be considered a win if it leads to the destruction of a CAS-class.

*A dozen more CCS Class Cruisers jump in*
At the expense of their entire fleet
@@sethcourtemanche5738technically two fleets. The first fleet was already pretty much wiped out when the second fleet arrived. Then the second fleet was wiped out too.
I knew assault carriers were op but that was insane
your work makes a grown halo fan cry, this one little story touched my heart, from the acting to your art, you have been doing more then what 343 WISH it could do..........keeping the halo spirit alive through your media, so AS a halo fan for over 18 years i thank you and wish you to keep these up, whether short or long, i will always be a fan!
i also thank Chokepoint Games for getting involved, SoTP is my favorite mod for quite some time, this makes these videos with your ship assets all the more better.
I very much appreciate the kind words and support on the Patreon. I’m doing my best to bring much more Halo content
@@brussellstudios 💪
Halo at its best is about the absolute desperation of the UNSC against the religious alien zealots who think it is their purpose to wipe humanity out as they are "heretics" to their beliefs. They will have lost thousands of sailors, and dozens of ships to save millions of civilians.
This is just a downright slaughter.
Welcome to the UNSC Navy. Thousands of Sailors, to save millions of civillians... who have to flee the planet and become refugees..
That's pretty much how the entire war went. The UNSC had no choice but to use overwhelming numbers which...well, yeah. Slaughter.
It's an assault carrier aka the super star destroyer of halo
well, 39 billion lives minus 26 billion lives is certainly a slaughter
Turned out absolutely gorgeous, the visuals, the scenery, the music and damn the voice acting !
What halo fleet battles deserved, alas.
The voice actors deserve a ton of respect. They were doing their part!
You've achieved in 4 minutes what two seasons of a high budget TV show couldn't. An actual Halo space battle using actual canon weapons and tactics.
Every argument I have heard against the Halo show......."Season 2 wasn't as bad as 1". And so on.... Why should I defend it at all?
343 should've said "This show will hurt us" -canceled. Why should fans not do the same? Let it rot. DO NOT WATCH. We all failed.
🎈
@@Daginni1 I actually thought it was worse. Mostly because it proved they learnt nothing. But also the first season actually had more canon combat.
@@sam23696 The fact 343 Greenlighted this show makes me sad.
This "show" is what a majority of people now believe is what "Halo" is; even if they never played a single Halo game. Master Cheeks banging a alien brainwashed female human of the Covenant.
Maybe.. MAYBE.. it will have some viewers who have watched the show to then think "I should play those Halo games" and get into the actual Halo universe instead a lazy "alternate timeline."
The damage to the entire franchise was done.
This was really well done. There's a specific manner to space combat in Halo, as described by Eric Nylund in his novels, and you've captured it very nicely here. One small bit of feedback is that the UNSC had no countermeasures against plasma torpedoes. No known methods to confuse or interfere with their guidance and no way to shoot them down. It's part of what made the Covenant so unstoppable in space.
Thank you! Old canon correct, new canon plasma torps can be. Ive taken bits from both canon since the official halo is a bit messy.
Actually, it has been found that the radiation from nuclear missiles going off between the plasma and the UNSC ships CAN provide a temporary shield. Admiral Cole used this in the battle of Psi Serpentus, his final battle as far as we know.
@@brussellstudios Oh! I actually didn't know they changed that. Definitely prefer the old canon, that's a big nerf to the Covenant's main armament. It does make for some great shots though!
@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem That's true, but it is very much a fringe case. I wouldn't say having to use nukes would make for a feasible counter-measure system!
New to me too. I’m a fan of the old school but the original halo novels, while great on paper, don’t translate to screen as well. Im always working on balancing lore accuracy with what is cinematic
Thank you so much for making this. I teared up when the commander said "We are all that stands between these bastards and the 20 million souls below." This franchise is in desperate need of media like this and you can tell it was made with a lot of love.
fantastic work! Real shame 343 doesn't put any effort for space battles. All we get from them is uncompleted games and power rangers. But that leaves the door open for talented people like you to make great content. keep it up!
Spartans are more or less superheroes and only Infinite was uncompleted.
"Status report."
"The entire prow is gone, the humans' use of nuclear warheads is annoying but nothing to write home about."
"Very well, we will begin orbital landing and secure a foothold on the human world. How long until reinforcements arrive?"
"They are already here."
"Good, hopefully the humans send their demons next time."
You guys seriously rocked it, that was awesome. You really pulled of how outgunned the UNSC was against the Covenant. Loved the video!
Incredible. Love the animation and voice acting. You've managed to capture Halo space combat as it should be.
Incredible, it’s just like my imagination
A few dozen UNSC Ships exploding just to stop a single CAS-class assault carrier? Ya me too. UNSC was losing the sky battle, but winning the ground battle. The sky battle glasses the ground battle.
This perfectly shows the massive disparity between UNSC and Covenant ships excellent work!
I love the use of the rampart point defense guns, you hardly see that in battle nor mentioned in any of the books
THIS is what the Halo show should have been. Well done
I LOVED doing the music for this! Nice work, Brussell! ❤
The music makes it! Looking forward to working with you again
You did a awesome job! Music makes the scene.
This is so good! This is basically official Halo cutscene quality!
Great work, transisitioning to different angles of the battle is an excellent choice of scale!
It was all a ONI inside job all along. I knew it.
This was amazing.
Fans come out with things like this for the love of it, while the multinational companies with all the money 💩 all over their works.
That was incredible. Please MORE :D I would have liked to see the MAC's take out the shields first but I get that it's implied the first fleet did that. One scene from the reach book I would love to see is when the Pillar of Autumn fires it's three MAC burst to open a brief hole in a carriers shield and Cortana flies a Pelican with a Nuke inside through the gap. The Autumn then flies past as the shields close and contain the blast inside, melting the ship but protecting the Autumn. But yeah this was incredible, such a great job.
Great Work….. they need to make a “Battlestar Galactica” version of Halo that is focused on the fleet- and its support of planetside operations with cameos of the Spartans at various important points in the story that are consistent with the lore. This show could easily gain success and would go on for at least six seasons.
I think the problem is that with the attrition rate you wouldn't have any time to get to know characters before they got obliterated lol
I just wanna see something similar to The Expanse, using real physics like light lag & thrust vectoring in a 3D combat zone, seeing how UNSC ships fight against Covenant ships that superior in every way.
Halo may be dying but fans like you keep it alive
Felt like a scene out of the Expanse good job
This was fucking amazing. These are the fleet battles Helo has been missing.
Nevada and Artemis sacrifice will not be forgotten.
A great animation, you can see the effort put in, I think a representation of the battle for the land would be epic, even if it was brief.
Holy shit this was amazing! I love to see you recreate the Keys maneuver.
Ive always imagined someone making an accurate recreation of the Keyes Loop, along with snippets of the audio book, after seeing this I finally think we might see it one day. Great work.
that was really good like WOW you did an amazing job making that video!!
it was well worth the wait man it was perfect
Beautifully displayed the utter desperation the entire time. Even when the UNSC 'wins', its a pyrrhic victory. Not just the animation but the voice acting too!
A++
The bravery and "never surrender" of human forces were one of the primary causes of the Covenant Civil War and the ensuing Human-Sangheili victory over the Prophets and their Loyalist. The many books of Halo do a great job tying it all in together.
Its so cool loved it
amazing work, love the animation, voice chatter and acting, everything. halo's space battles are mostly off-screen or in books but they are some of my favorite parts of the halo lore due to the mismatch in tech between human and covenant fleets. this captures that perfectly
This way better than halo series on Parliament plus. The graphic is epic and voice actors is good.
Hot DAMN this was amazing. Such attention to detail and audio full of emotion. This really helps puts into perspective just how completely and utterly outmatched humanity was in the space combat side of things.
Like Owen Wilson say one time: "Wow"
that's absolutily awesome. If only Paramout was half talented than you are, the serie would have been great.
'Can't whait for the next battle.
Amazing, quality halo content is always appreciated
I would love a halo tv series that looked like this
Hello there!

You’ve refined these videos very well I think this and the novus massacre are your best ones the lighting and camera angles even the way you’ve implemented score and dialogue was great and it shines in this one, awesome work dude!
Absolutely fantastic! We need more great halo space battles! The hollow victory, showing how one-sided battles against the Covenant really were, was a neat touch.
Only two minutes in and I absolutely love it!!
Why don't we get more of this?!
Because, sadly, some board of directors said "RTS is such a decade ago". Meanwhile, Homeworld 3 just launched and has epic sales.
This was awesome. Well made, love how quiet it was in space along with lore accurate tactics.
*SEE THIS IS WHAT WE LOST UNDER 343 INDUSTRIES:* Feeling the stakes, feeling the weight of what is occuring on screen. Being in the dark, desperate, on the backfoot in front of existential threats that we barely understand, that are mysterious, deadly, ancient, noble, majestic and grand, that you owe respect and admiration to for its sheer might, even though you are desperately fighting against it.
I've felt more emotion in these four minutes of amateur animation than in the ENTIRETY of 343's artistic works.
The reason we feel that way, is because the old fights had normal humans throwing everything they had, and it still wasn't enough. Nowadays everyone is a spartan and they can easily 1 v 100 everyone
Gorgeous, amazing animation work.
I tip my hat to this masterpiece, accurate to most of the lore and fun to watch. It also gives the real perspective to what truly was the space battles against the covies.
If the UNSC wins is by drowning them on their own blood.
Phew, excellent animation... Without a doubt, it's cinema
Have your like good man
Phenomenal, your works have been getting more and more incredible with each video! love the close in weapon systems of either faction, real life sea faring cruisers and destroyers have CIWS which literally for lack of a better word "piss" into the sky with glowing tracers.
More people need to watch this
10/10
Mission complete; the colony is safe. Respect to the UNSC.
I can't believe the video ended with a draw between Humanity and The Covenant.
Nice work! 👍🏻
This was FAR BETTER Halo content than anything Hollywood has put out in YEARS!
This is gold ! Nice work ! Impressive dedication !
This is awesome. So much better than the current halo franchise.
4th generation space combat! How quaint! A droplet would like to land, undisturbed, in case there was still some fuss over the matter. Thank you very much for your cooperation, Earthlings! ;)
Before anyone asks, that's a reference to "Dark Forest". Read it. :)
Wow, NICELY Fn DONE! Good Job!
If only the halo TV show had been this good
Amazing work.
Great script production visuals... thank you for your work it was interesting to watch this space battle unfold🤩
This is peak Halo! Keep up the good work!
Great work! I loved the cinnamontography
Incredible! Love the voiceacting
Holy shit. This took me back to the books, and to Halo: Fleet Battles. All, to a terrifying detail I still remember.
Holy shit, what a find!!! Amazing!
Amazing! and the opening shot is menacing!
Very cool man, keep up the good work, also this kinda reminds me of the gameplay from Nebulous Fleet Command
Absolutely beautiful! Keep it coming and keep fighting the good fight. The franchise may have been betrayed by big wig corporate but not by the fans.
Me after the Human Covenant War: Hi Sanghelios meet NOVA.
This is it, chief.
*Looks up into the sky* So beutiful.
*Looks around at the panicked faces of civillians and UNSC Army personnel*
But yet it forshadows death for us all.
This was fantastic, the angles, music and voice acting was incredible
The missile launches were too quick imo, and the textures/lighting were holding you back from a blur-quality esque animation
But honestly, you guys have Massive potential
Keep up the good work!
This is what i was hoping to see in the show awsome work
That was fantastic !
Amazing job !
Maybe next time LEAD with the nukes..... shield were down when they came out of slipspace, couple of nukes in contact mode would annihilate that carrier.
This was realistic. UNSC in space got waxed the whole war.
amazing!
Imagine a full blown show like The Expanse but in the Halo universe. Seeing space combat.
I love this animation but.. a CAS would not get destroyed by a Nuke like that
It took 3 SMAC’s to the nose (while unshielded) so 1(likely Shiva class) nuke wouldn’t even scratch it
No, the Shields were up when it got hit by the SMACs; they just lasted long enough to get them past the ODPs before they were brought down. How do you think the Fighters were able to open a hole for Chief?
While it did take 3 super MACs to the nose, it was not unshielded when it did. But, you are right about the nukes not doing that. Shadow of Intent is noted to have burn marks on the hull where UNSC nukes got through the shields, meaning that they did damage the hull, but not enough to destroy the ship or warrant replacement of the armor.
@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem That could simply have been from when Nukes were used on the Carrier while it was still shielded; in which case, the armor would be able to handle what was left of the explosion not absorbed by the shields. So I think a nuke would still be lethal to a CAS with it’s shields down.
@LordCommander-ui2fw Possible. Given that a physically small UNSC nuke (the Havok) has a yield of 30 megatons, a large, ship scale warhead like that on a Shiva would probably be in the hundreds of megatons. But that would probably still be manageable, and certainly not whole ship destroying - CASs are known to have redundant control centers. Even though the Super MACs hit while the ship was shielded, they are in the gigatons of yield. I'm pretty sure at least one of the rounds made it through the shield, and even with that taking most of the power, it's still going to be a massive hit. Heat isn't an issue for Covenant ships (they are confirmed to be able to withstand several minutes of 1000s of degrees Celsius before STARTING to deform), so a nuke doesn't have that advantage. It's also a spaceship, so radiation shielding is an absolute given.
That's _awesome_. Well done!
Genial video!!
When fission reactors are operating as designed they are critical. That means they can maintain power generation.
There is nothing dangerous about a critical reactor. And they can't explode other than a steam explosion
Awesome
Holy shit this is what halo needs more of not any of that bullshit from the TV show
Beautiful animation, you have one more subscriber on your channel
Thanks for subbing!
this is all I ever wanted from a Halo TV just humanity struggling so hard to survive an overwhelming enemy and taking such horrific losses
show off that human side of things, not just cool green man
give me a band of brothers style show but it's ODSTs, and they just get massacred at the first major battle with the survivors carrying on because the only option besides fight is to die
my only complaint for this video is the sound mixing, it's a little hard to hear the voice actors over the music going nuts and drowning them out a little
Better writing in this 4 minutes video than in 2 seasons of the TV show
NICE!
Хорошая анимация, мне понравилось, спасибо за проделанную работу ждём ещё таких видео !
