Tip: leave your pie to rest for 15-30 minutes so it has time to cool down and set a little. That way it won't fall apart when you cut in to it.

Genius. I’ve seen so many recipes but this captures the spirit of a rustic comfort-food dish.
Just made and more than enjoyed this Chicken Pie. It reminded me of the kind of chicken pie I have had in those famous pubs in England. The crust is unbelievably flaky and buttery and the filling is succulent. Great balance between filling and crust. Like so many of your recipes, this one is a real keeper!!

I wouldn’t have thought of simply cutting the chicken in half, browning it (skin side down) and then popping it in to the veggies n stock , cover, cook, until voila, the chicken is cooked and ready to fall off the bone. The pastry looked so easy the way Jamie made it.
I have been making this dish for decades for my wife on Oscar's night. I messed up my kitchen, but it was worth it. This was my best to date. May thanks Jamie.

The flavour, the homemade pastry. To make a long story short, this pie is delicious, 10 out of 10. I love it. I didn't have dry cider, I used red wine vinegar instead and it was my first time making a pie in my whole life lol 😆 and turned out so good. Thank you Jamie,, always love your recipes ❤
