    Actually, I'm kind of impressed. That Harbor freight garbage could handle all the weight.

    Tbh you will keep more subscribers by keeping a stock engine. People can relate to you if they have the same motor. If they don't have the same motor then it's just watching for entertainment and less about how this might help them and their truck.

    Good choice on keeping the S14, we've had ours for about 20 years. I would love to see you build the 5.0 rather than a swap

    As a Nissan technician. I can honestly say it's easier to pull the cab.

    Just found your vids cuz i bought a pro 4x grill for my platinum xd. I too am a big Nissan fan. My dilemma is screw the warranty (lifetime) and do the upgrades (delete &lift) or ride it out till I blow an engine, then do upgrades. Anyway love yer work, keep the content comin my guy!

    Hey brother, im getting ready to do this myself. Is removing the transmission necessary?

    So would love to know what your plan is! Had the exact same issue happen about a month ago. Truck is in great condition overall and paid off so kills me to scrap it. Trying to figure out options and get it back going. Please reach out and let me know your plans.

    I just have to say thank you for documenting this. We that have the 5.0 do not have many examples let alone procedures of this type of process to our engine. I appreciate your hard work with the mechanical and video editing aspects.

    Awesome work dude, incredible how small our engines are for the power they produce. Would love to see a full teardown in hopes of finding out what may have caused the premature failure, you have a lot of us Nummins owners following your journey man. We really appreciate it.

    My dad's crank broke on the interstate. My guess is that's your issues.

    Get a bigger Cummins and bulletproof it. The 5.0 is trash. When mine blew the only reason I allowed another 5.0 to go in is because I didn't have to pay anything. Not sure if you need to upgrade the chassis with a bigger Cummins.

    Awesome dude! Was really happy for you when you finally got it out! Haha
    Please consider taking the time to figure out what *caused the failure* and not just *what failed*… I think this is the big question out there with these engines. No one really knows what’s causing them to fail…
    Awesome job! Thank you for doing this!

    What a great attitude you have to deal with such insanely hard tasks. I'm a Titan XD Pro4X fan and I can only hope I never have to do the same thing to mine. Big difference is I'm still running bone stock with AMSOIL for the drivetrain and Howe's fuel lubricant. Had a 6.0 that I treated the same way and programmed it to never let EGT's get over 1250 along with a 5 minute turbo cool down cycle. I never had any of the issues that plagued that engine. Hopefully the Cummins responds well to the same love. Can't wait to see what you find moving forward. There is another teardown of a 5.0 on TH-cam and the issue was a snapped crank. There was literally nothing else wrong with the motor except one small ding in the top of a piston. I'm assuming it had at least one bent valve to match. Shouldn't be too bad to rebuild if that's the case for you too. Wishing you luck!

    What tunes were you running? Synthetic off road tubes or others. From the FB forms any other tunes that is not from synthetic this will happen. What are your thoughts 💭?

    If it is your crank, please look closely at the flex plate. I'm really curious to see if there is any distortion between the torque converter bolts or the crankshaft bolts.

      Cuda going to be the go to/ is for this platform. However a 5.9 swap for this truck would be awesome if some sort of resolve for the crank issue is never found

    I recently blew my engine in a 16 pro4x. I was running SOTF tunes and when it blew it was on the 4th map going pretty hard. My theory on why mine blew was sometimes it would shift well above 4000rpm (probably closer to 5k). I’ve heard that the rev limit for the engines should actually be 3800rpm and never see higher. I plan to put in a new engine and just baby it. Lesson learned for me. Curious if this is what maybe happened to yours… Good luck on the build! Can’t wait to see the finish.

    • @radfordmunz9577
      @radfordmunz9577 หลายเดือนก่อน

      they really dont like revving that high. it makes tons of power down low and likes to hold steady rpm and the turbo will spool up and do the accelerating without revving which is a crazxy feeling

    I'm curious as to why you chose to tear the front end off the truck vs just pulling the motor itself from the top. I understand if you had intended on pulling the whole drive train together to start with. But I think that was not your intent? Was it necessary or did you do it just for the filming aspect of the video? Either way I'm glad you're videoing it and I hope I never have to do this to my 2017 Texas Titan. Doesn't look fun at all :)

    • @kbridges5.0
      @kbridges5.0  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It made everything 100 times easier, and the radiator, intercooler, and ac condenser definitely had to be removed, so pulling the front off wasn't as big of a difference. In my opinion, the only 2 ways to pull the engine are from the front like I did or pulling the cab, but that's just my opinion. Maybe it could be done the way you're saying, I'm just not sure

    • @dbel723333
      @dbel723333 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kbridges5.0 Thanks for the response :). In case you don't already know this, I saw a vid by CFT Performance talking about snapped cranks on the 5.0. He found that the engine harness are stretched to tight and zip tied near the injectors. Guess it causes the wire coating to wear off and causes some issues with fuel in the cylinder resulting in a catastrophic failure. If you happen to inspect your harness could you let us know what you find? thanks for all you do it helps us all !!
