  • Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. Are you looking to use some metallic edible paint on your cakes, to really make them shine but not sure what you can use? In this weeks video tutorial I'm going to show you my 6 best methods for creating edible paint. From mixing lustre dust with dipping solution, extract, lemon juice, water, vodka and also using pre-mixed edible paint.
    You can then choose from the list your favourite to use the next time to want to add shimmer and sparkle onto your fondant cakes, maybe to paint a royal icing drip, or add detail onto buttercream.
    I really hope you enjoy the tutorial. Thank you so much for watching and don't forget to subscribe for more cake decorating tutorials!

    you are an amazing person . i always watch your tutorials. i have a question for you . where would you keep your metallic painted cakes once they are done. in the fridge or over the counter. i live in florida and the heat here forces me to put them in the fridge but when i take them out they sweat and wash away the paint. also what do you think is best using airbrush or hand paint with alcohol.for metallic finish. thanks

    • @CakesbyLynz
      @CakesbyLynz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is the lustre dust coming off like dry lustre powder or is the paint still wet? I find that if using oil it stays quite wet for longer than some other solutions. With things like dipping solution as the dipping solution evaporates the lustre dust turns back to dust form. If you can you can brush over the top with a large fluffy brush to get off any left over dust to stop it coming off. I really hope this helps.
