- Sintra, in Portugal, is a charming community in the metropolitan area of Lisbon. We're on a day trip from Lisbon and in this part 2 video, you'll see the famous inverted tower inside Quinta da Regaleira. That's how it's popularly known, but this construction was actually the initiation well for the Knights Templar, a fraternal order affiliated with Freemasonry. Needless to say, there's a lot of symbology not only in the well but in the entire Quinta da Regaleira itself.
But first..... 😋😋 We start the afternoon (and the vlog) with a nice lunch, followed by a sip of the famous Port Wine (vinho do Porto). Gordon went for chicken with salad and fries, but my choice couldn't be different: codfish cakes (pasteis de bacalhau). They're so typical in Portugal, and on our last full day, I needed some more codfish 😁

We have been to Sintra on two separate trips. First time was 2 day trips, second time 2 nights and 3 days. It is one of many of our favourite places in Portugal. We highly recommend spending the night in Sintra if you can. After touring all of the busy tourist spots, there are some other less busy but amazing sights like Convento dos Capuchos and Monserrate Palace. When we were there everyone was still lining up at The Palace of Pena. We actually thought Capuchos was closed it was so empty. Thanks for sharing your trip!

Question: If you guys had to make a decision on what city in lisbon (Includes the Algarve) or Any of the Azores islands to live in which would you choose? Love the Vids the best on youtube.
Thank you. We have not visited enough of Portugal to decide. But we will return to explore more. It would be hard to decide, city or warmer coast in the south. We like that Lisbon is well connected to the world by the airport. It's cheaper than most of Europe and Lisbon is not too big but big enough to offer everything a city can offer. We wait to visit again.

В начале , возможно стоит учесть , что в России , на большей части территории короткое лето , и как говорят большинство наших женщин им нахватает какого то витамина в организме вырабатываемым от тёплого солнца , поэтому и тащат своих мужчин в тёплые страны отдыхать на море . Возможно это обстоятельство можно поставить на первое место.
Второе по чему отдыхать предпочитают за границей, так это экономия бюджета . В России это дороже чем за границей , как в прочем и шопинг , например в Италию при распродажах .
Третье место , это такой же интерес как и у вас , как впрочем и у меня , например посетить США, Кубу, Лувр во Франции и т.д. и то исключительно в виде туризма и не более
У меня дочь так же ради интереса увидеть что то не обычное .
Возможно и ошибаюсь , но это только моё мнение .
Например , одно время я очень хотел побывать в Стокгольме , только по тому , что в детстве мне очень нравилась детская сказка Астрид Линдгрен про Карлсона , хотя немного и разочаровался , иначе представлял этот шведский город , возможно что то и не увидел ...
Например , очень жаль , что вы побывав в Москве не посетили Кусково( "th-cam.com/video/dgh8cqN4Jbg/w-d-xo.html" ) или древнюю Москву в Крутицком подворье ("th-cam.com/video/xL3rh5jZPhs/w-d-xo.html" ) иди дворец Юсуповых

Но пока для туризма есть препятствия , путешествия превращаются в ненужные проблемы .

We have tomato rice too here in Malaysia. It's one of my fav dish by my late mom. I sometimes like to cook it too, with beef slices, potatoes, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes. We pair it with ayam masak merah, tomato chillies chicken.

The symbology is of course to communicate, not all people of that era could read, so they communication was through symbols. With the Templars there was a strong educational element, unlike the Catholic Church of the time, the Templar were very about empowering the people, not holding them back.
It is worth the time and effort follow the tread/so to understand the messages, the depth of knowledge was extraordinary.

I noticed you pronounce the "R" as "H" in Regaleira is this always R=H or there is a special rule for this. I am starting my first EP lesson today and trying to start picking up anything I can.
Yes, in Portuguese, R=H at the beginning of the sentence, before a consonant, or when it's RR. My name for instance is pronounced "Henata". In between vowels, it's pronounced like in Spanish. Good luck with your studies 😉

I'm sorry, but you have been misinformed. The letter "R" is absolutely NOT pronounced as an "H" in Portuguese from Portugal! Not at the beginning of the sentence, not in the middle of a word, or when it is a double "R"!! Renata is a native Brazilian, and in Brazil, they pronounce it the way she's indicated, but not in Portugal, where an "R" is an "R"! That bit about being pronounced like in Spanish is only valid if you're speaking in Brazilian Portuguese.

Posteriormente, é envelhecido nas Caves situadas em Vila Nova de Gaia, e servido em cálices, e não nos copinhos em que vocês beberam.Eeheheheh
