Follow the steps below to Fix Xbox One Headset Sound Not Working:
1. Press the Xbox One button on your controller to open the menu.
2. Scroll down and select the audio icon in the bottom right.
3. If the options are greyed out ensure you clean out the headset plug on your Xbox one controller.
4. Plug the controller back in and see if that works.
5. You can now turn on the headset mic, change the volume, chat mix, and mic monitoring.

I have a Bluetooth headset (pdp lv50), and my audio settings are greyed out (headset volume, headset chat mixer, and mic monitoring) not allowing me to turn anything up or down from anywhere but my headset, but my headset doesn’t change mic monitoring other than muting and unmuting, how can I either change my mic monitoring or allow the Xbox to control it?

Get a new wire for your headset or your headphone jack might be messed up, so yo either need to get your controller repaired or buy a new one

I know how to fix it look up: how to fix headset mixer sound not moving on xbox one then click on the video made by jageracogpls he explains how to do it and I know it’s weird but it actually works.
Or unplug and replug you mic until it works

Hey man could you please help me out? I have turtle beach stealth 600s (they are Bluetooth) and recently they broke. I then got another pair that was the exact same make and model and connected them to my Xbox (I have a series x) and now my mic monitoring will not work. It was automatically turned off when I connected the headset the first time and it won't let me adjust it, turn it on or off etc. On my previous pair of the exact same headphones I never had this problem. When I go to try and adjust it in the audio hub everything is grayed out. I've checked everything all my software and firmware is all up to date so can you please give some suggestions on how to fix this?

I have a wireless headset that has the audio settings on the Xbox grayed out, but there is no way to change the mic monitoring from the headset is there something different I can do?
Mic monitoring should be on minimum ? can not get what for is that, simply amplify my mic if set to max?

Hey so I’ve tried everything and mic monitoring still isn’t working for me i.e. I still cannot hear myself. I have a turtle beach headset and use the adapter it came with as it is wired. If I use my headset without the adapter I have a static sound which is annoying lol. Out of nowhere the issues happened. Because I use the adapter I don’t have access to the audio settings and cannot edit the mic monitoring settings or any settings. I’ve tried unplugging both pieces, updating the controller, turning and resetting my Xbox, reconnecting my controller. Going into settings and changing them. My adapter isn’t broken as I can still mute, change the volume settings for both game and chat. I’ve also tried to mess with the volume on the adapter. There also isn’t any volume settings on the headset. Other than not being able to hear myself everything is fine but is it driving me crazy because this wasn’t an issue before. Any tips!?

Thanks for this video, have some ideas to try. Specific problem is my kids broke all the wired and expensive Xbox wireless headsets. All we really need is the mic for party chat, so I got a very clear yet tiny 3.5mm mic without wires. It allows people to hear us, but afterwards now we can't hear the people through the TV speakers when they speak. Is it my chat settings or a limitation of the controller having only the mic as input to the 3.5mm jack?
