If you are looking to get an optic (especially for a pistol) I would HIGHLY recommend these guys. EXTREME customer service, SUPER knowledgeable and INSANE shipping costs and speed. I personally have talked to Paul both online and over the phone and he spent over 15 min with me and at no point did I ever feel rushed or "stupid" with all the questions and clarity I needed. i love my 407c. works great, but its an older model and doesn’t adjust to bright areas nearly as well. still a fantastic sight. glad to hear holosun has updated and improved their sensors
This video was beyond helpful, you’re out here doing the Lord’s work for us. I’m going to be getting a slide cut and will definitely hit you up for a 407K or 507K.
My favorite is the SCS 320. I love the closed emitter and also the cuts on the optic line up with my Echelon and looks like it was made for it. Oh and being green is nice. I also have the SCRS on my AR9 pistol and it's great. I've had it on my AR15 and I can hit at 100 all day w it
Excellent breakdown of the line up for pistols. Lots of people like to rip on Holosun, olights, and Psa. I think they’re great. I’ll keep this information for my next pistol/Holosun purchases. Thanks!
Man that was information packed. Straight to the point. Now I know what I’m looking for in a pistol sight. Great work. I’ll be shopping from your website. Thanks
I've ran Trijicon for around 10 years. Decided to put a 507k comp on my fun gun. I don't carry this gun that often. No complaints. Then put a 507k on my Glock 48 and the battery life sucks. Must change the battery every month. At first I thought it was because of the battery that came with it was old. Lasted about 3 weeks then the unit would dim and you could no longer use it. Changed out the battery and only lasted 4 weeks. Called Holosun , Sent the optic in. They sent the same optic back to me a month later. No info at all about if they fixed it or not. No longer trust it at all for every day carry. After doing research I realized that if you carry everyday you must have the brightness setting pretty high for it to be of any use outside and you will want to change the battery each month to be able to count on it. For people that don't carry everyday it should last a long time. My brightness setting is 2nd from full bright. 3rd from full is okish but I can really pick up the target fast and the 2nd from the highest setting outside. For me I'm keeping the 507 comp on my fun gun but the 48 will need a new slide milled for the rmrcc to give me full confidence on the optic.
Nice rundown. Thanks for sharing. Which HS (or other) do you feel would be best for a ruger mk4 (SSH edition). It has a pic rail, but it could be removed.
The best of the best is a 509T with a pic mount. But personally I'd put a 407K (budget but great bang for your buck value) or EPS (bigger window/enclosed) both of those also can be put on pic mounts we have on the website.
I have the 507c accs and 507 comp from you guys. I wasn't sure what red dot to pick up so I sent an email. You guys were very helpful plus you have great TH-cam videos. Thank you
Such a good breakdown it really dwindled down my choices. Its for a shadow system xr920p so probably go for the 507 comp cuz i wont be cc it but even if i did its probably durable as most holosun
Just the video I needed. New to firearms and heard the Holosuns are undisputed for the price. Lot of them on sale but not a clue on which SKU is going to work or not. Thanks!
This video is the best! I have a few Holosuns already, and looking for another for my Glock 34. I really like the EPS MRS Green on the FN 510 so well that I’m leaning back in that direction Good heads up on the shorter screws for the EPS carry for the 43X. My LGS just did some grinding on mine until it was clear 😮
Bought the new glx rs15 from you guys, and immediately had an issue with it haha. Primary arms warrantied it and now it’s running fine. Will see how it holds up over the next 1000-2000 rounds
If anyone is thinking about the SCS series, don’t hesitate. The auto brightness adjust works really well In all lighting conditions. The internal battery charging feature is really well designed as well.
That’s not my experience. I had one on my Glock 45. The auto adjust couldn’t properly handle being in a shaded area while the target was in the well lit area. The dot totally washes out. It worked well under other conditions.
Primary Arms, who owns the ACSS reticle, told us that the EPS models will not get the ACSS reticles because it is physically impossible to get the reticle to work in the EPS dimensions. PA's new HTX-1 is amazing though and could be an option, although it does have a higher price tag at $700.
Great video. I'm trending towards an EPS, since I want it enclosed, adjustable and still not that heavy. That one as T version making it even lighter would be cool. an EPS is 39g, a carry is 28g. 509T is 49g which is amazing for the size and toughness. An Acro C-2 is 59g (P-2 is 2g more), an RCR is 56g, Steiner MPS 58g. The heaviest I've seen is the Swampfox Kraken with 67g. Now add a plate as well. One downside of the EPS is a CR1620 battery. It isn't about the battery life, but availability is way worse than a 2032 or a 1632 and there is less variety. Could you do a battery low temperature endurance test till they go down while mounted?

According to Steve, a freedom gorilla employee, the 509 ACSS vulcan WILL fit onto the 509T footprint, but I hangs off the front slightly. In other words, it will most likely not fit on a pistol slide, but it could be used for any application involving a picatinny to SCRS/509 mount
I just talked to Steve he said he never said that so maybe there is some confusion. The 509 ACSS Vulcan and the 509T are meant for pistols and will both fit on pistols. The 509 ACSS has a different foorprint than then 509t but they both come with their own individual adapter plates. We have seen someone mount a 509acss on a 509t picatinny mount but we don’t recommend it.
@freedomgorilla1 you're right I just went back to the messages I sent to Steve and the question I asked was "will the 509 ACSS vulvan fit on a SCRS picatinny mount" that's when he told me that it does fit, it just hangs off the front a little bit, and I assume that's the reason you don't recommend it?
@@Kman09JGC I haven’t personally seen it yet, but I’d imagine so. The suppressor height sights on the CZ P10 take up half the SCS P10 window, so I’d imagine the MP2 would do the same
