- The battery for a Corvette C7 2014-2017 is located in the trunk passenger side. Battery replacement is not to difficult except for the fact that the size of the battery is very tight in the area it sits and it is heavy. Ozzstar's Cars shows the steps necessary to remove and replace the battery in a C7 Corvette with the tips and tricks necessary to save you time.

Great video as always. For the positive side, I don’t disassemble the whole fuse bus, just remove the one 13mm connected to the cable, and loosen the 10mm on the battery post. The whole assembly will come off in one piece and go right back on the new battery. Minor difference but can reduce a step or two. AWESOME STUFF GLENN!

good point about properly tightening the four nuts on the postive side ... and i used the battery strap as well ... helpful as the battery doesn't lift straight out. ... thanks.

You should have a little more time. Buy one of those battery handle straps I have a link listed in the description. You will thank me in a couple of years. haha It's a back saver!

I know this is an old video, but I want to add a tip form those with convertibles. After getting all of that crap lose, and out of the way (if you're lucky), you can't just pull the battery up and out as easy as you can in the coupe. The fender wall is shaped differently, and the right side of the battery (lookng from the back of the car) will get caught on a little protrusion molded into the carpet. You have to pull up on the left side of the battery, stand it on it's side, and then pull it out. Of course you have to reverse that when installing the new one. Absolutely the most aggravating battery change I've ever done, and I've owned two C3 coupes with the battery behind the drivers seat. 😀
It's not easy that's for sure.

Great vid. Interesting design with that buss bar and all the heavy duty fuses there. Nice of them to leave a couple optional power feeds there for a thumpin' system, or what have you. I'll probably never see one of those in here, since you need a 4x4 to get down my road, and again in my yard certain times of the year, lol.

when I tried to re-install the positive cable back (at 8:50), the nut on mine couldn't catch the thread of the screw. Wondering if you had the same issue and how you solved it.
Not an issue here.
Gotta love battery hide and seek. BMW loves this same location. Buicks love under the back seat, but the worst is Chrysler Sebring. They make you remove the front bumper and it's hidden in front of the drivers front wheel.
I've been through the Euro trash trunk fun but having to remove the front bumper is just a plain dumb desMoe's. Have a good Christmas Moe.

When changing your oem battery to the duralast. How did you like that AGM duralast and long did it last also i hope you installed the vent tube back up to your new. I'm due real soon before winter here. Thanks sir
There is no vent tube necessary on this AGM just like the original battery had no vent.
@@ozzstars_cars c7 corvette did. Not real sure your transport didn't. I know ther is a provision for that tube on the new battery. Did you like the duralast agm

AGM battery, no vent, don't be confused with a lead acid battery.

How long those AGM batteries last? Is it true that corvettes are notorious when it come to draining batteries.
True but battery drain isn't an issue if the car is used regularly. Your mileage may vary.
No mention of the vent tube? It's easy to break the top fitting if you lift the battery out prior to unplugging it from the battery cap.
AGM battery needs no vent. Thanks for watching.
@@ozzstars_cars But the ac/delco battery you took out did which is what most Corvette owners I assume will be dealing with. Whether or not the battery you are installing has the tube is irrelevant, you have to address it from the beginning considering this is a instructional video.

Wasn't a problem in this case. The battery never went completely dead.
Was suspecting the battery was going to be a coded battery . Is you new vette coded ?
I haven't come across a car that has a coded battery yet. Then again I usually work on old junk lol
