- Removing pinstripes or decals with a rubber eraser from your cars exterior is fairly easy. With the help of a drill a rubber eraser wheel can remove vinyl stripes in a matter of minutes. This short video details all of the necessary steps to complete the job.

I tried everything! I finally ordered one of these wheels on Amazon for 10 bucks. I have a white Chrysler 300 and some kid went nuts with silver pinstriping and put it everywhere all over everything. I couldn’t believe how quickly it took everything off. It was amazing. This is the only way to go! Even better than a heat gun
Hi Glen
I have the exact same one , had it for at least 20 years , never tried it yet but it looks like it works pretty good to me. Nice one 👍
Steve you probably have at least three of these. haha Hope your doing well.
About to tackle this on my truck. I used one on my last truck over 15 years ago and don't remember it taking very long or being too difficult. Another video I just watched said it took them 2-3 hours. I don't remember it taking more than 30 mins. Glad to see it didn't take you very long either.
Maybe that guy didn't realize the stripes were painted on instead of.vinyl. lol
Cool . love the Rubber Eraser wheels .
Great share Glen, that will be really helpful to get those really stuck on strips and decals
Works like a champ, thanks Rusty!
If its the same we are using it has a nice smell when using it.
Dan that's the fresh scent of artificial rubber. The best perfume to mankind. haha
@@ozzstars_cars The smell is sometimes the reason they are called caramel wheels, smells good but don't eat them. 😱😉🤣
I noticed that said you use it reverse so the chuck won’t unlock on you, if you turn your chuck to to the right slightly kinda like your trying open the chuck that will lock your chuck.
Thanks buddy
@glennzook3042 you got it Glenn. Take it easy. -Glen
I’ve found using a heat gun, a plastic razor blade, and Rapid Tac brand decal “Remover” with paper towels it seems to be faster and less messy. You just have to be careful that it doesn’t sit too long and slightly discolor as it’s a citrus cleaning agent.
So far, I've only used mine for removing the glue from stick on wheel weights from wheels
That's a great idea, never thought of that.
Hello stranger! nice to see you posting again 🎉 those things are a god send alright!
I was hiding under a rock. 😁 Thanks man!
Thanks for the tip Glen, appreciate the video, you have a new subscriber, Dan from Power Probe
Not sure why I never saw this until now Dan. Hope.all is well!

@@dannysdiygarage your channel is looking great. Keep those informative videos coming!
@@ozzstars_cars appreciate that buddy 👍🏼
I generally like to go until I see bare metal then push a little harder until I see smoke. Then I repaint the entire car and it looks Great.
Keeps you busy and out of trouble! haha
Missed you at SEMA, Dan from Power Probe
So.. how do I know whether I have painted or vinyl pinstripes? I’m surprised no one asks this question!?
If it's painted then it's very thin to the touch. If it's raised up it feels like a sticker.
I thought the pin striping was a nice touch! I guess my age is showing. 😁 That thing worked great! 👍 Finally caught up on your vids. 🍻
Thanks brother!
Hey, would this work on a pinstripe from a car from 2015?? I asked the dealership to take it off and they told me that they couldn’t do it after attempting all they did was scratch the shit out of my car and leave residue. So I figured I’ll take care of it. It seems to be baked on there will still work?
@@Dinkerstu There is only one way to find out.Give it a try in a small spot at your own risk.
@@ozzstars_cars thank you 🙏
thanks
Nice demo with your instructions. 👍Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks for the comment Peter
You're more than welcome. Your thumbnail really caught my eye in that I just purchased a new SUV and contrary to my instructions, the dealer affixed his name to the rear hatch. AARGH! I tried just using my thumb nail to peel it off, but those suckers refuse to move. So your video will definitely come in handy with me purchasing the eraser wheel. Thank you again.

Do you get ghosting on tbs paint?
@@Scott-to8ri very slightly. Polishing takes it right out.
Seems obvious to not use it on a painted stripe, but I could see someone trying to…”it’s not working!?!” 😂. Thanks for the video, I’ve had one for months but wanted to make sure what I was getting into before I did it. Doesn’t seem like a big deal/job at all.
You’re welcome. 😊 Not a bad job at all.
I’ve had better luck with the rubber discs that are perforated / cogs ⚙️ . But it’s very messy and you will definitely want to wear a mask so you are not inhaling rubber bits.
🍻
Where have you been hiding Art? Cheers.
