I loved this game and it's story. A lot of things really worked well, but I have one nagging gripe: Machina. Idk, I just couldn't bring myself to identify with his motives and actions. His growth was is still a good aspect of the plot, but how he started out somehow really annoys me. The Suzaku crystal was supposed to erase the memories of the dead right? Izana's death should warrant for minor questioning at most in this context, precisely because Machina's attachment to his brother is basically gone. It certainly is no excuse to increase tension within the class.
Machina was the best character in terms of development and humanity. My only gripe is how oftenly they take him out of your party as I loved playing as him.

Heres something shocking. I heard this from a person who claimed that he/she have read Type 0 novel. Arecia is a fal'cie, and in the previous "Scenario of the world", Machina got along well with class 0, but thats what makes the world 'failed' during finis. Thats why Arecia 'gave' Rem an incurable illness, and maybe Izana's death too. So that Machina and Rem chose to become a l'cie and not the other class 0 members. And then we got a 'good' ending. Class 0 died, Machina and Rem rebuild the world. It was all Arecia's scenario. Leave it to the god / fal'cie to do what they want, lol
hi, some of these characters and ideas are from the very first games, on nintendo and gamboy. That's why they titled it zero, because it's origin is from early times of final fantasy.
The whole memory wiping of the dead kinda makes the story lose some impact. I know it's meant to emphasise the end when they actually do remember but, I mean. I felt like we were the only ones who cried for that dying chocobo.
machina wasnt whiny,if you really think about it , he wanted to keep rem safe,at first he was WITH class zero, meaning he would of died for them,he saw them as his true team, but when he was told class zero "killed his brother" he then changed,as you yourself would if this was real life, the crystal wiping his memories of his brother made things wose, because he couldnt remember the relationship he had with him,not to mention cator remembering the feeling of dejavu, (because they in a way did the whole thing before)so we dont know the true feelings he really felt,it is all in a way realistic, anyone would feel the way he did,i felt so bad for him,at the end of the game he sheds tears for the whole class, showing he TRULY cared for them.

I have the original Agito on PSP, I downloaded the English translation and loaded them onto my PS Vita, it’s quite different from the HD Type-0 remaster, it’s not as easy.
Yeah the Original version is way harder, pro tip is timing, and Magic is pretty OP, so stock up on ether an learn what are each character specializations, each of them are better with a certain element, also, phantoma farming, search for a phantoma list to make it smooth, just so you know what to do so enemies drop the ones you want, also at least 3 characters on lvl 70 by the end, and 2 of these need long range, not doing that last bit made me replay the game all over again because my 2nd squad was too weak.
Man I never truly finished Type-0 but not gonna lie this stuff remind me why I love Final Fantasy. It just too bad Tabata left the company. FNC is really something of itself, it's dark yet beautiful.
Ali Aslan you don't even know the half of how complicated type-0 is yet. From this video, you still haven't learned the true purpose of the agito, or tempus finis. Or who arecia really is, or what cid's real objectives were, or when he actually died, or who the main antagonist really is (his name is gala). I could go on all day about how much this game doesn't tell you just by playing once!
the second playthrough helps but the plot is so scattered it could easily take 3 or more to see everything. there is a LOT of missable story content. the in-game lore files contain a great deal as well.
@@DoomsdayOdd gameguide said you only need 2 playthroughs to reveal all the story scenes. If you follow the correct guide tho. But I think I myself wont simply understand everything when all the scenes unlocked. The story is just that complicated 🤣
The entire Fabula Nova Chrysalis saga of Final Fantasy is complicated and confusing, in the non-fun way. FFXV was initially suppose to be part of it, but somehow it didn't and miraculously its story was not complicated at all.
nah, you're not wrong, just look up 'Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII' and you'll get your answer why there's a connection there. Initially Type-0 was supposed to be 'Agito XIII' while XV was 'Versus XIII' - its all supposed to be different games sharing the same mythology
Just finished the game. The game does a terrible job of telling its story, but in the end, after watching a more simplified explanation of the story, it was actually pretty good overall. I missed so many of the intricacies especially around who was a L’cie and who wasn’t. Final Fantasy Type Zero had a lot going for it, I just don’t think it all came together that well.
Why couldn't Machina & Rem be the ones who die fighting the Rursan horde while the cadets of Class Zero live on to lead Orience to a better and brighter future? Machina was a complete jackass who was more desperate for redemption than Cloud Strife from Advent Children, while Rem was dying due to disease. Additionally, they're both l'Cie. How is it that mere mortals could defeat the Rursan Arbiter? And that's another thing; how is it that Lord Marshal Cid was selected to be the Rursan Arbiter even if he wasn't worthy of being the Agito? AND WHY IS THE BAD GUY OF THIS GAME GOING BY THE NAME OF CID?!
FF Type-0 story plotline was not bad to me. At least the main characters were Ace and others to stop this atrocious military. It may have the prequel towards Final Fantasy 1. FF0 fave character was Kurasame, because he's so badass type!
It's really bitter sweet that class 0 died. Great ending Also, WHO WAS Dr.Aracia?? She was the most interesting character imo Also, It’s kinda weird when you look at all of class 0 as the different personalities of Lighting, separated into their own beings Even Rem and Machina to a degree
its hard to explain since simple information will ask you many question so instead of who was Arecia? ill add it "who is arecia, masked man, what is tempus finis, who is/are agito? what are their objectives" they are all connected. this might be half-out of question but her role is interesting as your opinion as well. Arecia is one of the divine servants tasked with overseeing Orience alongside Gala(The masked man who appear in the scene where Cid commit Seppuku) and Diva(the "girl" who appeared in the opening. you know the one spinning around holding an orb-like object). while Gala is a servant of Lindzei, Arecia is a servant of Pulse. while Arecia is human form, in reality she is divine servant and their objective is to find Etro's Gate. and they have different methods how to find it. both of them are "facilitator" of the Cycle, they created the Crystals, forgetting-the-dead concept, L'cie etc. Both Arecia and Gala wants to find the Etro's Gate--a realm where the world between living and dead divides. Arecia's method is selecting chosen soul and she believe that this chosen soul will find and open Etro's Gate---this concept is the "Agito". while historically he/she/they will save the world from Tempus Finis, its main objective is to find Etro's Gate. This explain the Class Zero: because she believe that the chosen souls are the Class Zero and one day their souls will awaken and find Etro's Gate. she also created the Crystals--and the Crystal will select L'Cie who believe that can choose who are possible Agitos as well outside of Class Zero. she has also has the power to reset the cycle(or reset the game's story back to start) so she can retest her method as well. meanwhile, Gala/Masked Man believe that Etro's Gate can be opened by world wide massacre or forcing the entire population's souls to overflow Etro's Gate and opened it. since Etro's gate is the barrier between living and dead. this Concept is Tempus Finis and it is Gala's idea to have "Tempus Finis" at the end of each cycle. he also work behind with Cid(tho Cid has his own motive why) whichhappen to ignite world war and Tempus Finis at the end so he can test his own method, and test Arecia's method at same time. they are not actually enemies. in fact Arecia and Gala work together to find Etro's Gate. they divine servant of their gods, Arecia believe that a Chosen Soul/s will open Etro's gate, Gala is overflowing the gate to force it open. this is why when Arecia left the world, the Crystal lost their powers(ending), because Arecia is actually a some sort of divine servant that almost like a god and she is a facilitator in the game's myth/fantasy. she simply take form of human.
it does fucking happen, noctis dies, his fiance is killed inront of him his friends killed, and the main villain is a sick fuck. fuck ardyn. so sad ;( final fantasy never fails in making me depressed.

I have yet to play Type-0, but I await to one day since the plot is both sad and tragic for the Class Zero. I am curious why players do not discuss Type-0 more.
*I LOVE the return of Gilgamesh, the goofy doofus character from old FF games.* (BTW, original Gilgamesh from the myth was nothing like that, of course.)
It's rare for me to see blood on ff characters. I've only seen blood on ff crisis core, 7 advent children, and ff type 0. Or maybe I just don't remember
Jackie Clan machina is carrying over his grief of rem dying from previous cycles, and when he’s gone through 600 billion cycles of him trying to save rem and failing every time something drastic was bound to happen.
Yea the ending got me when I finished it, its super sad, especially considering that you actually get to like most of the class zero characters. If Machina died and the rest lived, that would be a far better ending :D
Great video! Really cleared up some of the gaps in my knowledge about the game, a lot of information rather quickly in game amidst the action was hard to digest and follow at times. To be honest, i enjoyed the much darker story, in a way it felt more realistic showcasing the true tragedies of war. I have not attempted subsequent play throughs but may consider it. What would you recommend keeping an eye out for and/or doing? Thanks again!

Reeeeally wanna play this game. Never knew the story was this savage
Oh hell yes!! I love another recap with oni✊🏻
Man I never truly finished Type-0 but not gonna lie this stuff remind me why I love Final Fantasy. It just too bad Tabata left the company. FNC is really something of itself, it's dark yet beautiful.
God's sake how complicated is that story what type of person can imagine such a thing, unbelievable.
Do you get all these details from the second walkthrough?
the second playthrough helps but the plot is so scattered it could easily take 3 or more to see everything. there is a LOT of missable story content. the in-game lore files contain a great deal as well.
Everytime I hear the word L'cie or fal'cie.. I cant help but connect it to ff13 lol
nah, you're not wrong, just look up 'Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII' and you'll get your answer why there's a connection there. Initially Type-0 was supposed to be 'Agito XIII' while XV was 'Versus XIII' - its all supposed to be different games sharing the same mythology
The ending was good even though it was sad. Well, it was good except for the fact that Machina the Whinebag got to live.
Great video, dark and tragic Final Fantasy...
Please cover Final Fantasy A2 : Grimoire of the Rift :)
It was well put together compared to the XIII series
Best opening sequence, made me tear up the first time I watched it.
What a strangely beautiful ending. Damn, now i have to play this game.
U know this game is hardcore when even the Chocobos get killed...😭
Geez even with this explained like this it's still abstract as hell!
The chocobo part made me cry
Why couldn't Machina & Rem be the ones who die fighting the Rursan horde while the cadets of Class Zero live on to lead Orience to a better and brighter future? Machina was a complete jackass who was more desperate for redemption than Cloud Strife from Advent Children, while Rem was dying due to disease. Additionally, they're both l'Cie. How is it that mere mortals could defeat the Rursan Arbiter? And that's another thing; how is it that Lord Marshal Cid was selected to be the Rursan Arbiter even if he wasn't worthy of being the Agito? AND WHY IS THE BAD GUY OF THIS GAME GOING BY THE NAME OF CID?!
liked and subbed. Great content!
Psp probably has the best ff games i was crying like baby from both endings of those!
at the end, does that mean that type 0 is also basically type-next when you mentioned alternate endings.... ;;
I actually like complex war chronicle stories like these.
Ahhh man! But it's the "mother's" big scheme that I have a hard time grasping; I was hoping you would discuss that at least a little.
jachyra4 basically "mother" and cid know about the cycle and are trying to open etros gate to become agito
I am impressed. good job summarizing.
FF Type-0 story plotline was not bad to me. At least the main characters were Ace and others to stop this atrocious military.
It may have the prequel towards Final Fantasy 1. FF0 fave character was Kurasame, because he's so badass type!
I've had this game for 3 years, I never got into, the other I sat down to play it, just finished it, and damn, it is so fucking good
It's really bitter sweet that class 0 died. Great ending
Also, WHO WAS Dr.Aracia?? She was the most interesting character imo
Also, It’s kinda weird when you look at all of class 0 as the different personalities of Lighting, separated into their own beings
Even Rem and Machina to a degree
Look up the extra endings that happen in the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs and you'll find out who she is.
its hard to explain since simple information will ask you many question so instead of who was Arecia? ill add it "who is arecia, masked man, what is tempus finis, who is/are agito? what are their objectives" they are all connected. this might be half-out of question but her role is interesting as your opinion as well.
Finally I've been waiting on this!
Let's hope final fantasy xv doesn't end the way this game ended. Then again the King is dead from the movie. Great Video
Yeah, but the King was played by Sean Bean, so that death was a given.
Yeah they already dug the grave and everything.
it does fucking happen, noctis dies, his fiance is killed inront of him his friends killed, and the main villain is a sick fuck. fuck ardyn. so sad ;( final fantasy never fails in making me depressed.
Stay Mad just finish the game everybodys dies wth.i knew he was going to do something like this.
Alpha i now like wtf man i love final fantasy but cmon i want people to live
This game is a gem
Love the video! I get so happy when these come out!.
Still hoping for magna carta 2 one day.
The story is one of my favourite final fantasy stories. And the ending my second favourite after X.
And hajime tabata ruined 15 the end
I don't care what people say but I loved this game and is one of my PS4 favourites and I also like it better than disappointing XV.
To do list
What Happened in Final Fantasy XI XIV and XV
What Happened Chrono Saga
What Happened Dragon Quest Series
And Fire Emblem
XI/XIV not likely ... XV when all story DLC is out ... Chrono Saga are 40k/50k sub specials... Dragon Quest/Fire Emblem will be covered in 2018 (unless mass request bumps it up)
I'd like to request Earthbound! I know that one would be hard to do so what about Fire Emblem 7 or Golden Sun 1 & 2 as a runner up?
There are so many choices! Great vid as usual
awesome vids. you should make Legend of Dragoon recapitation :3 keep up the amazing job!
One of the best games I've played.
Great videos. Are you planning to do some recaps of the Final Fantastic Tactics series? I'd love to see one :)
Hey O.B.M I have a request. can do a video on Final Fantasy XI and XIV.
Not being able to remember the dead is an awesome plot device.
I appreciate this video so much. The plot of this game is such a mess it’s hard to follow.
This game looks amazing!!!
It's rare for me to see blood on ff characters. I've only seen blood on ff crisis core, 7 advent children, and ff type 0. Or maybe I just don't remember
I remember hating Machina so hard, he got the ending that the rest of the class deserved o.O Great vid tho :)
yeps hate to say it, but i cried fck haha
KaiSaeren there’s actually a really well explained reason as to why machina is so emotionally unstable.
@@Whompwhomp1028 How so?
Jackie Clan machina is carrying over his grief of rem dying from previous cycles, and when he’s gone through 600 billion cycles of him trying to save rem and failing every time something drastic was bound to happen.
@@Whompwhomp1028 Damn thanks for the info bro
That ending is kinda sad. Just because everyone dies except Rem and Machina. Also is there a ending where none of the main characters die?
One of the alternate endings is a happy school life free of war, but its not for the world you just played.
Well, I'm happy that there is a ending where nobody dies
I know right. I was going to get the game and still probably will but, but the ending hit me hard
man u spoiled yourself before u even got to play the game
Yea the ending got me when I finished it, its super sad, especially considering that you actually get to like most of the class zero characters. If Machina died and the rest lived, that would be a far better ending :D
Thanks for your hard work and putting this together.
I love you ❤️i can sit and talk about final fantasy all day with you
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Final Fantasy type 0 is my top 3 favorite final fantasy game
are you going to make one of these for ff tactics?
Great video! Really cleared up some of the gaps in my knowledge about the game, a lot of information rather quickly in game amidst the action was hard to digest and follow at times. To be honest, i enjoyed the much darker story, in a way it felt more realistic showcasing the true tragedies of war. I have not attempted subsequent play throughs but may consider it. What would you recommend keeping an eye out for and/or doing? Thanks again!
I bought this game for Xbox one because it was Final Fantasy and I just wanna say this game is really cool for gameplay despite the graphics being ‘old’ now....if you like real time combat and magic I’d recommend....if you’re looking for story......eh I wouldn’t say you should get this because it’s confusing and doesn’t always make sense....if you’re looking for cute anime boys and girls and to fight.....yes get this game
Subbed with the bell on
cus you are the GOAT bruh
How the fuck have I barely heard of this game? It sounds great!
Found the HD translation lacking... other than that love your video all the best for you.
