Debatable for some people, but its an awesome game, but i havent played all of them, so i have a different opinion, not shitting on the game, i love the game, but i disagree
I can tell that you were realllllly into A Link to the Past, as am I. This has to be my favorite video by you Jeremy. I haven't seen this major passion from you since your Final Fantasy VI review
My favorite Zelda game is Skyward Sword. I don't think I have ever had so much fun playing a video game in my life. I was totally emotionally involved in the story, the game looked fantastic artistically, the music was moving on all levels, the full immersion into the controls of the gameplay, I don't think I could ask for much more in a game. It indeed was AWESOMETACULAR.
I love almost all Zelda games(especially Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past), but the first one i played all the way to the end and completed 100% is Minish Cap. I don't know i just find it so fun and endearing.
I finally FINALLY got my claws on a Link B/w Worlds cartridge (they're pretty hard to come by in my country) and oh Boy I'm so glad You have a review ; but I 'll just leave a like and this comment. I don't want any spoilers. (btw, i love that you review Zelda games. You're my fav. reviewer and LoZ is my favorite game franchise)
Favorite Zelda game has to be Twilight Princess. Just loved that game. Why I don't have this yet? Still need to get a 3DS. Just haven't had the spare money for it yet.
Took me until right before running through my fifth dungeon to finally get the Pegasus Boots. Desert Palace was my sixth dungeon, so I didn't have the Titan Mitts until near the end. I really dug the reveal of Lorule's backstory at the end. Link Between Worlds' water dungeon is be the best one I've seen in the series thus far.
enannoter Not having the Pegasus Boots does make the challenge room where you're supposed to dash past bars before they pop up again very ..."interesting"
favorite 3D Zelda is Majora's Mask, favorite 2D Zelda is A Link to The Past. so excited to get this game. haven't had time yet, but in january, i plan on sitting down and spending a weekend powering through this game. :D
I got mine a couple days after the release and I let a friend of my borrow my 3DS XL to play Pokémon X so I've had to play it on my old 3DS but I just beat it 5 mins and 15 secs ago I then look on TH-cam and I shit a brick when I saw you put a for it review up I freaking love The Legend of Zelda!! Great job man!! :D
Edgar Chavez the problem is its not as simple as occarina of time and has a bit deeper themes. Its my favorite, but alot of my friends at the time just saw it as nintendo trying to cash in on ocarina of times popularity. (btw my friends are stupid)
I actually love Skyward Sword, but I'm positive that Majora's Mask will be my favorite one once I play it. Especially with that hole "Five Stages of Grief" theory.
Both Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess have the most haunting stories the franchise has ever seen, though I'd dock a few points from both for their execution (Majora's Mask for its huge number of recycled assets and Twilight Princess for having a painfully empty world with substandard weapons/gameplay). Wind Waker remains one of the strongest Zelda experiences I've ever had, along with Ocarina of Time. In both games, the gameplay and worldbuilding were breathtakingly bold and lovingly intertwined. A Link to the Past is just a few years before my time. I'll have to play it before picking up A Link Between Worlds.
Why does everyone complain about the water temple? I really dont get it, I followed the map and explored all the rooms I yet to explore and I beat it without little issue, is it purely because it takes the piss having to put the iron boots on and off, or do people find the temple that difficult? I heard that people struggled with a key that appears under the floor after u raise the water level but I really did not struggle finding it since the platform raises up so it makes it pretty obvious that there could be something their now.
So I really barley have played Link to the Past, but I'm planning to. My thought though, is should I play LttP first, or LbW first. I see the common sense of LttP first thing LbW second. But wonder if there is something to be gained by playing them for the first time with LbW first, then LttP second.
I've played very few Zelda games. I've played and completed Ocarina of Time 3D, I'm playing A Link Between Worlds, I've played Four Swords, I've tried Skyward Sword and I've recently just bought The Wind Waker HD for my Wii U which I'm getting for Christmas. At the moment, I'm absolutely loving A Link Between Worlds. I find some of the puzzles tricky, which is good. I love that feeling of, "I can't complete this puzzle", put it down, but rather than forget about it, I'll think about all day long and then rush back to my 3DS and do it. It's so good. It's an 10/10 from me.
I haven't finished A Link to the Past... Dammit. I'm gonna have to play it, then wait 3 years to buy this game and feel the "NOSTALGIA BOOOOOOOOMB!!!" for myself.
My fav zelda is TP, some people didn't like it but I thought it was really cool to see a more mature (not dark as people say it tried too hard to be) zelda game. hope the one on wii u is in a similar style
yeah I know, and thats kinda what I want. not too much like SS but no sooo realistic that its like TP, somewhere in the middle would I think be the perfect balance, also it would make sense as wind waker hd was recently released on wii u. My fav 3 games are TP, SS and WW.
I have a 3DS and a PSVITA and 50 bucks (and food ). And theres 2 nostalgic games to choose from. TLOZ: A Link Between Worlds, an easy but good paced dungeon crawler for 3DS, or Ys: Memories of Celcetta, a hard but with it requires some grinding dungeon crawler for PSVITA. Red hair or blonde hair ?
I got the special 3DS Zelda combo and I am so happy this is my first game for the system. The depth that they built in this game is fantastic, I am literally sucked into the world when ever I turn the 3D slider up. The music is so beautiful, and the art style of the paintings is really awesome(Its nice too see a different cartoony style from years of windwaker link). I have never played link to the past, but I don't feel like I am missing anything when I play. This game really deserves that 10/10 it got.
Minigames are the reason why I'm missing two of the ultimate weapons in Final Fantasy X. Seriously, who the fuck dodges 200 bolts in a row and that chocobo game is stupid...
I finished this game two days ago in Normal Mode and also beaten it without being defeated once, and also collected and upgraded all my gears, which includes the Lamp and Net. As someone who've never played A Link To The Past, A Link Between Worlds is... AWESOMETACULAR!
If you have club nintendo points and a wii/ wii u, you can get Link to the Past on virtual console, for free at least untill midnight, before the monthly change up of whats a free download.
The Celestic Warrior if you have a Wii U you could wait until they brought ti VC and paid only 1.48 for the game, if you had participated, or buy a Wii Classic Controller Pro, which is cheap.
It's hard for me to choose between A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. I love them both so much, but Ocarina of Time I've spent more time playing. I would, however, like to point out Twilight Princess for having one of the best final boss fights. I mean, Zelda ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING!!
Been a while since I've actually played the game, but I can distinctly remember the bridge horseback fights and the Ganon chase because I thought it was so cool that it was different than what was normally in a Zelda game.
I agree that you could theoretically stick to only renting items and get away with that, but buying them as an incentive beyond not using them if you die; you can upgrade them to make them 10 times more badass!
My favorite Zelda game is by far Minish Cap. I like the art style and game mechanics. Had a lot of fun with it and the conversations between Link and Ezlo are hilarious - Way better partner than some annoying fairy.
Chris Hill was just wondering if he had played all of them :p but I know, on of my favorite 2d zelda games out there, freaking amazing! the music and all the secrets and different areas you have to go to :)

*****, thanks for asking. Yes. I played all Zelda games so far. He is my favorite and Twilight Princess is the worst (of Nintendo's Zelda titles), imo - It lacks Zelda features, when I played felt like playing some generic medieval game (even with great graphics and soundtracks). I like the "upper vision" 2d-ish Zelda games more than the 3d - But that doesn't mean that 3d ones are bad (Farores knows how much time I spent wandering around Kakariko's in OoT, just enjoying the cenario and the music) - I just like the gameplay experience that "2d" creates (with puzzles and such), but it's my taste for games speaking. Besides I don't think all games must be 3d in order to be good. My second on list is WW. Because it is what Zelda meant to be - I just think it is too easy and the boss design isn't that good. I like playful art style over mature because people forget what games are meant to be and those can place us somewhere we can journey trough wonders and marvels.
I know it's a bit old, but can you review beyond two souls... please, because I think it's a bad game while people are trying to beat me up for saying that
it's a great story, and that's all i really ask for in a game, im not a big gamer so the story is big for me, but for gamers who mostly care about the game aspect of games then they might not like it
I actually thought the story sucked really bad, like for a long time there was no story and about 70% into the game, there is suddenly a story, it felt like three big sections that have nothing to do with each other, and only one actually mattered
@2:00: Actually, in LoZ you could do any dungeon in order, in OoT you could do the fire & water temple in any order, as well as spirit and shadow... and in aLttP you could do the dark world dungeons in pretty much any order except for turtle rock for which you needed to have finished misery mire and the ice palace, for which you needed to have finished thief town.... and you didn't have to finish the dungeons, just needed the items. I know, i'm too much of a Zelda geek. Great video by the way!
I played some of the old ones and got into it a little. Phantom hour glass i didnt like.. Should i buy this game? I just bought a 2ds with pokemon x( yes i still play pokemon) but can this game get me really into the series
yeah, even so, this game is fantastic! Worth my purchase of the 3ds a while back ago.overall, expect to have a fun time with this game. Cant wait for Majora's Mask to come out for the 3DS!
Hey man I don't know if you know but Paul Walker (Fast and the Furious) just passed away and I am really bummed by it and if I remember you said you were a fan of the series so I just wanted to know what you think about it. Don't mean to sound insensitive (if I do) I am just in complete shock right now.
snoth cambin I guess b/c of the "time" stuff. That's what I didn't like about it. Also, Ocarina of Time was so epic, it kinda paled in comparison when the sequel came out. I didn't hate it, but I personally don't think it was my favorite. Please don't reply with some random defense either, I don't care... this isn't a debate, just an opinion.
Has anyone seen this theory video claiming Link has been dead throughout these Zelda games? I know absolutely nothing about the Zelda games, but it was such an interesting video. I wanna know other peoples' opinions on it.
My favorite is OoT and ALTTP. I had alot fun playing ALBW gave a lot of nostalgia feels, but I thought the game was a little on the short side some dungeons could be cleared relatively fast. I completed my first playthrough in about 15-16 hours felt somewhat lacking, but i still had an awesome time playing this game.
It is an easy game, but still very good (I'm playing through it right now). Ocarina of Time is still my favourite because of so many things, but the pacing is one. It's like they couldn't make the dungeons get harder with each one because you can do them in any order. But that part was interesting too.
You mean which to buy? If so, start with OoT. It's pretty much required. I love TP and it's a really good game so get that too. SS is so-so depending on who you ask, some love it, some don't. Seriously though, buy every Zelda game. Just do it.
Link between world's was such an easy game to beat. Beated that game in 3-4 days. Ocarina of time and majora's mask was more challenging. I would have to say that this game was one of the easiest zelda games I ever played.
Good to hear. Say, out of curiosity, are you going to review Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U. I want to know if it's worthy of being put on my wish list.
So, would this be a good one to get if you're looking to get into Zelda games? I did try Ocarina of Time for 3DS and had fun in the beginning, but I didn't really get sucked in and got distracted from playing it pretty early on.
I love Zelda do not get me wrong! I know i can't be the only one to say that Link between world's was a major let down for me.. The graphics and the game play mechanics were awesome and the idea of sifting between little cracks and around walls was pretty nifty. Seriously though, please tell me I'm not the only one who found this game to be very mediocre and easy and the story was bland with not much exploration and side quests outside the simple 8 or so "dungeons". To compare this to Link to the Past is just down right retarded and IMO an insult to a perfect classic. I would consider this game to the casual's or little kids that are trying to get the feel of the Zelda franchise.
Easy yes , but play on Hero Mode and prepare to get your shit handed to you by even the weakest monster. Also if that is still too easy how about play through with no deaths and then shit gets real.
cortster12 For me, the puzzles and the monsters and also the boss battles were more challenging in LTTP then they'll ever be on LBW. You can't compare those two IMO it's like apples and oranges.
look, people can kick me in the butt for saying that but i actually think the new commentary section is kinda better (now) because you don't have just two top comments, they all appear equal and its more easy to see the replies (now) its more easy to edit your comment, there's no limit text, you can put *SPOILERS* and then just put your text down below and no one will see unless they click "show comment" and you can clearly see when someone replyed or liked your comment and quickly respond. Only bad thing is that you can't dislike comments. But even so, google plus can still go fuck IT self for forcing us to do this shit.
Sick of youtube reviews of the game or the game itself? Explain why because I´m planning to get the game on PC next year and I´m literally searching for legitimate reasons not to buy this game.
Sorry to inform you but there is no reason not to get it, unfortunately like with skyrim, a bunch of hipsters have to piss, moan and bitch because thats the flaw of being human, 4 in 5 of us are idiots.
Jake Harrington Im not talking about Jeremy, i really like Jeremy, Hipster essentially means being different for the sake of being different or standing out. And that statement at the end just demonstrated that you're a moron, thanks for saving me the trouble :)
DallasFlett It is. But out of all the things he does everyday do you really think he is gonna get 100 perecent sync in the biggest and longest game this year? I doubt it. He probably didn't even do that for this game or other games like arkham origins. And besides all you have to do is main missions and any available strangers adn freaks missions and you should be in the mid 70 perecent done with the game. Thats what I did atleast.
A Link Between Worlds was really great - a bit short overall but a great time playing it on both the normal and the hero mode. I actually put the hero mode right after the normal mode because the game was so exciting to play. Yup - i totally go with the rating Jeremy gave the game and would say especially when you´re a gamer who played A Link to the Past you will instantly fall in love with this game
I haven't had this much fun in a zelda game since Wind Waker! I had to beat the game two times, one on hero and one on normal, and I couldn't allow myself to die either. As well as getting 100% in both. Well, everything but the cucco mini game, so I didn't get the giant cucco.
Jeremy have you ever played Darksiders? from the PS3, I have played it, and it is a good game, I have heard people compare it to Zelda, tell me what you think?
dude, you released this video just in timed...i was JUST debating with a friend yesterday about if i should get it, but im new to zelda games, and just got oot last week and realized that zelda games were not for me ;_; i lack the ability to complete the dungeons without a youtube assistor and i wanted a zelda game that was a bit...easier? and wanted to know if lbw was easier? and it sounds like this would be a better fit for me. not to say im not enjoying oot its just i find myself on youtube way more than i should on walk throughs
Jermey! Ultimate SFX maker at 1:00. Spot on Master Sword pull! Btw, my favorite LoZ is AlttP... my very first game... ever. SNES. Why don't I play ALBW? Because I don't have $200 or so for a 3DS/2DS nor for the game.
Greatest franchise in gaming.
Debatable for some people, but its an awesome game, but i havent played all of them, so i have a different opinion, not shitting on the game, i love the game, but i disagree
Probably best game on the 3ds
@@prestonbrower762 easily in my top 5. And I've played a shit ton of 3ds games

You should review Majora's Mask 3D.

Nah, pretty sure my favorite is still Twilight Princess. But thanks for checking ;).
FlareKnight yea same i love twilight princess
nah Mr Unknown ocarina better
ALBW is what got me into Zelda when it hooked me in 2020. I then played OOT and Majora's Mask and so Zelda became my favorite game series.

I never played a Zelda game before..got this 2 weeks ago and I'm totally fucking hooked. I need to get Ocarina 3DS now
Majoras Mask was by far my favorite

SS wasn't really cartoony. It was more impressionist-esq than cartoony.
yeah, it was like a mix between TP and WW art style with some impressionist-esq style mixed in
i would actually buy an Wii U just to play that.
I have a 3DS and a PSVITA and 50 bucks (and food ).

TLOZ: A Link Between Worlds, an easy but good paced dungeon crawler for 3DS, or Ys: Memories of Celcetta, a hard but with it requires some grinding dungeon crawler for PSVITA.

Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 review !
There any chance of you doing a behind the scenes video? I'm interested to see your process of filming these reviews.
Haha I actually thought the final boss in Twilight Princess was dull compared to the battle against Zant. I really liked facing Zant.
Been a while since I've actually played the game, but I can distinctly remember the bridge horseback fights and the Ganon chase because I thought it was so cool that it was different than what was normally in a Zelda game.

I was supposed to play A Link Between Worlds today, but my mail delivery messed up and delivered my neighbors mail to me, instead.

I played some of the old ones and got into it a little. Phantom hour glass i didnt like.. Should i buy this game? I just bought a 2ds with pokemon x( yes i still play pokemon) but can this game get me really into the series
Very good game, loved a link to the past! This is one of my fav Zelda games. Great review...NOSTALGIA! Lol
Even with out the nostalgia I think this game stands strong. If only for the fact they remembered how to make a good 2d Zelda.
yeah, even so, this game is fantastic!
My favourite was majoras mask
worst zelda ever lol...
HellthyJunkFood how?
hey, I'm just stating facts from IGN, Gamespot & Gameinformer... this isn't an opinion. If it were my choice the worst would be majoras mask
HellthyJunkFood You still havent said how its the worst.
snoth cambin I guess b/c of the "time" stuff. That's what I didn't like about it. Also, Ocarina of Time was so epic, it kinda paled in comparison when the sequel came out. I didn't hate it, but I personally don't think it was my favorite. Please don't reply with some random defense either, I don't care... this isn't a debate, just an opinion.
3:15 I wonder what point in the game he's referencing?
Has anyone seen this theory video claiming Link has been dead throughout these Zelda games? I know absolutely nothing about the Zelda games, but it was such an interesting video. I wanna know other peoples' opinions on it.
Nowwithguns Oh sorry about that lol.
Blew my mind, especially after I just beat the game! It made it all the more amazing. :)
Not a game i know, but will we see a Watchmen movie review in the future?
It is an easy game, but still very good (I'm playing through it right now). Ocarina of Time is still my favourite because of so many things, but the pacing is one. It's like they couldn't make the dungeons get harder with each one because you can do them in any order. But that part was interesting too.
I can't decide between Ocarina or Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword.
You mean which to buy? If so, start with OoT. It's pretty much required. I love TP and it's a really good game so get that too. SS is so-so depending on who you ask, some love it, some don't. Seriously though, buy every Zelda game. Just do it.
Liam Swan SS>TP
Some people think so. Many don't. I haven't played it, nor did I say I did. Generally speaking, MOST people consider TP>SS.
OoT is the classic, SS is my favourite but some people didn't like the story, TP is a bit meh at points but still really good.
Liam Swan Oh, I already have them. I meant which one is my favourite.
And why haven't I played A Link Between Worlds BC I don't have a 3ds but I do have a Ndslite but my R4. Keeps freezing up on games.
For the love of GOD....review GTA V
why there are so many reviews a;ready for that.
Blah Blahs I want to hear his take on it, the way this Zelda review was done.
His delay of reviewing GTA V shows that he probably doesn't care about requests.
How annoying would it be, if people told you how to do your hobby?
I've said this many times: It will happen. Be patient.
You run around you shoot people, that's it.
I got the last master ore in the last dungeon so I had to stop by at the blacksmith while that awesome music was telling me to go to the castle
I will be getting the Zelda special edition 3DS XL and this game, oh yeah.
I got it for my birthday, I am super happy with it.
I love how music goes mono when you warp into the wall
ill get a lot of hate, but my fav zelda game is 'Windwaker'.
It's a good game
thank u. im glad im not the only one that loves it too
I know you said its a good stand alone game but should i play a link to the past in order to fully understand whats going on?
Super Mario 3D world review?
It's awesome. Joy incarnate. Buy it. Review over.
AC 4?
Jeremy, beat the game, play on Hero Mode. Get wrecked by enemies doing 4x damage to you. Also, where's the Super Mario 3D World review?
When will you review ac4
I think I'll have to pick up this game. :D
did you play the game on a 3DS or 3DS XL? I'm trying to decide which one to get
All A Link Between Worlds was was A Link to the Past 2.0.
Would like to know what he thought about killzone or ryse
Link between world's was such an easy game to beat. Beated that game in 3-4 days. Ocarina of time and majora's mask was more challenging. I would have to say that this game was one of the easiest zelda games I ever played.
Amen to that! You must've not been born yesterday!?
It was definitely very easy, but it was fun!
Good to hear. Say, out of curiosity, are you going to review Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U. I want to know if it's worthy of being put on my wish list.
Review Pokemon X/Y...lol
So, would this be a good one to get if you're looking to get into Zelda games? I did try Ocarina of Time for 3DS and had fun in the beginning, but I didn't really get sucked in and got distracted from playing it pretty early on.
Absolutely! A Link Between Worlds is a perfect start. I recommend it and I know you won't regret it :D
Good game but majora's mask is better
Please, Please Review TRANCE !! I really want to know what you think about it.
About as easy as LTTP.
cortster12 For me, the puzzles and the monsters and also the boss battles were more challenging in LTTP then they'll ever be on LBW. You can't compare those two IMO it's like apples and oranges.
Glad to see you're still playing 3DS games Jeremy, thought you left it for good.
Jeremy Jahns on the new commenting system..........
Who cares?
the comment system is just fine now :)
Thomas Ålsen People want reasons to bitch and moan about everything. Everything is amazing and no one is contempt with it.
look, people can kick me in the butt for saying that but i actually think the new commentary section is kinda better (now) because you don't have just two top comments, they all appear equal and its more easy to see the replies (now) its more easy to edit your comment, there's no limit text, you can put *SPOILERS* and then just put your text down below and no one will see unless they click "show comment" and you can clearly see when someone replyed or liked your comment and quickly respond. Only bad thing is that you can't dislike comments. But even so, google plus can still go fuck IT self for forcing us to do this shit.
LockedPixels
Just like games/movies and gamers in general... Amazing games/movies and we just hate or complain about it.
I can't wait to get this game since I got my 3DS on Friday.
Jeremy, please don't review GTA V. I'm sick of it.
You hipsters make me sick.
And that statement at the end just demonstrated that you're a moron, thanks for saving me the trouble :)
hey Jeremy, do you use a DS XL? or a regular one?
I'm still waiting on GTA V review, and Assassin's Creed 4 review
Yo Jeremy I'm sure you heard about Paul Walker's untimely death. Thoughts? What do you think they'll do with the unfinished 7th f&f movie?
Chris Stuckmann said that he wants to fight you Jeremy Jahns!!!!!!!!!!!
Im still kinda sad that u cant play after beating the story(well u can play, but its from ur last save point).
JEEZ MAYBE YOU SHOULD REVIEW GTA 5 LIKE YOU SAID IN SEPTEMBER?!?! Getting a bit annoying
its a pretty big game dude, I believe jeremy likes to 100% complete it before he reviews a game
Just finished Link to the Past and it was great but I'm not at the nostalgia threshold as of yet. Do you think people like me will take to it?
A Link Between Worlds was really great - a bit short overall but a great time playing it on both the normal and the hero mode. I actually put the hero mode right after the normal mode because the game was so exciting to play. Yup - i totally go with the rating Jeremy gave the game and would say especially when you´re a gamer who played A Link to the Past you will instantly fall in love with this game
Jeremy will you PLEASE review 2001: A Space Odyssey??
I haven't had this much fun in a zelda game since Wind Waker! I had to beat the game two times, one on hero and one on normal, and I couldn't allow myself to die either. As well as getting 100% in both. Well, everything but the cucco mini game, so I didn't get the giant cucco.
Jeremy have you ever played Darksiders? from the PS3, I have played it, and it is a good game, I have heard people compare it to Zelda, tell me what you think?
Ocarina of time is my all time favorite, played it as a child on N64, then again on the 3DS, so awesome and so much nostalgia!
dude, you released this video just in timed...i was JUST debating with a friend yesterday about if i should get it, but im new to zelda games, and just got oot last week and realized that zelda games were not for me ;_; i lack the ability to complete the dungeons without a youtube assistor and i wanted a zelda game that was a bit...easier? and wanted to know if lbw was easier? and it sounds like this would be a better fit for me. not to say im not enjoying oot its just i find myself on youtube way more than i should on walk throughs
Jermey! Ultimate SFX maker at 1:00. Spot on Master Sword pull!
Btw, my favorite LoZ is AlttP... my very first game... ever. SNES.
Why don't I play ALBW? Because I don't have $200 or so for a 3DS/2DS nor for the game.
