Hey linkus7 I want to challenge you to a zelda totk glichless goals speedrun but you have to complete all the story bosses to get to ganon as well. Please except this challenge
I love the Ice Ruins. I can understand the distaste for ice physics, but I love that you progress through the dungeon by constantly moving that giant block. What i really love is when you take a step back and look at the dungeon as a whole. You start on the highest floor entirely indoors, as you go down the interior gets smaller and smaller as you do more and more in the space around the dungeon. The whole dungeon is a massive ice Stalactite inside of Lorule’s Death Mountain. That just so cool as a concept
@friedpinnapple Same! I gor one, hated the dungeon when I first played it, but I've come to respect it, and I think it fits well as the final dungeon, even though you can complete it in any order. The music along with the lava below makes the dungeon feel final to me.
I love how this game handles layering and going outside of dungeons. Climbing the tower of hera as you see the platforms you were just on get father away is the chef's kiss.
I got lost too often to like it. A dungeon that was way more up my alley was the palace of darkness, where you had to blow up the windows on the upper floors to light up below. Also, i had one of my biggest big brain moments there, so i will forever remember it fondly
100% this game is a lot of fun. It's kind of funny that you can get a Super Lamp AND Net that deal 8 damage, though it's sad the online StreetPass mode isn't really used.
As Linkus says, with the 3DS there were exactly two kinds of people that played it: you either literally never used the 3D at all and always had the slider turned entirely off (like Linkus says he did); or you had the 3D on full at all times for every game. (as I did) It really depended on the person playing whether they could handle the 3D without getting sick, whether the 3D matched and tracked their eyes right and wasn't skewed or misaligned, etc.
I always found that 3D effects for me always seem to be micalibrated. I swear at full the 3D seemed like it was making objects appear in positions that would imply they were somehow further forwards that my nose. Turning it down to the lowest setting prevents that effect, but the eye strain is still real and I could only ever use it for 20 minutes before I'd have to put it down. 3D movies similarly make my eyes hurt, never as much as the 3DS did, but I'm glad the fad faded because paying more for an experience which had my eyes hurting by the end of the movies just wasn't really worth it to me. I have to wonder if the things feeling impossibly close is the reason for the eye strain, or if being susceptible to the eye strain makes the 3D effect stronger than it is for other people?
@@scragarI can't say myself, since I never had any form of eye strain or fatigue while playing any of the 3DS models (even the first one) with the 3D fully enabled at all times.
The most frustrating thing for me about the 3d, and the reason I quit trying to use it after about a dozen tries, was the fact that you had to have the screen positioned perfectly parallel to your face and exactly a certain distance away, like a foot or so. If it was even slightly off angle or distance, it skewed everything horribly. After I realized how much that took away from the fun factor of playing games, I would only turn it on for maybe a few minutes at a time just to see how things looked in 3d from time to time, then turn it right back off and keep playing normally. If they'd been able to make it less dependant on perfect positioning, I'd've likely used it a lot more. I thought it was really cool, just too irritating to use.
@@TheHonestL1ar The later firmware updates and especially the later models, like the New3DS, greatly improved on the tracking and adjustments for greater viewing angles and distance variance. But I will agree that the original base model had an extremely strict distance and angle for the 3D.

I've played both but have recommended only this one to newer Zelda fans before and they had no troubles getting into it. I would say it also works a lot better than the two N64 remakes on the 3DS. The art style just works so well on a small console.
@@Zero-c5v The game feels much easier. There's a lot of fun stuff for 100%-ing the stuff such as killing the final boss with a net. You can buff your spin attack, you can get fully powered items, full magic, 1/4th damage reduction, Stronger Master Sword
Makes a world of sense when after a few story beats, you can just... rent or BUY a weapon. "I'm feelin'... Ice Dungeon. 'YO, RAV! Lemme borrow the Fire Rod, yeah? Here, have some rupees I found under a vending machine."

This was my favorite game out of them all but Triforce Heroes comes in a close second just because of the music and the nostalgia that comes with it. I first played through this game around last October and I have played it twice since. Love them both.
"I think the water temple in Link's Awakening is also not bad. But it maybe just something about water dungeons in handhelds." Uh yeah, Linkus? Jabu-Jabu called from Labrynna. He says his Belly took exception to something you said.
I had the same exact thought 😂 one of the few dungeons that I never felt bad about using a guide for, just to save on the tedium. Oracle of Ages had loads of cool mechanics but man were some of those dungeons rough compared to other Zelda games. I remember really enjoying Ancient Tomb right after Jabu Jabu, at least.
I'm not a big fan of A Link to the Past, but Link Between Worlds was a nice little surprise. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It's been a few years; probably worth a replay soon.
Hey, little advice for you, sometimes, there are things you can only see in the dark. Try and turn off the lights. (I've played albw and was looking for an item that the path to the chest was hidden in the light. It's a very useful item.)
The most recent video I've seen of someone playing this game, glad to see some other people are playing with this again! I dug up my old 3ds and haven't stopped playing since. It's amazing! I almost have 100% completion, I love this game!
ALBW is the perfect little self contained story. Like if Zelda games were Magic the Gathering cards, it would be like you owning a favorite card and one day someone gave you a Japanese foil, autographed by the artist of your favorite card as a gift. It doesn’t effect anything in terms of the wider story/function but it sure does put a smile on your face.
i remember when i was 9 getting my first 3ds and playing a link between worlds it was the best game i have ever played I'm so glad Linkus finally playing
20:57 Timeline wise, this takes place after the botched resurrection in the Oracle games so Ganon in this game is completely mindless though I'm curious how Ganon came to be in posession of the Triforce of Power when Link (Hero of Legend) took posession of the complete Triforce at the end of Link to the Past (which also sent him on the quests to Holodrum and Labrynna in the respective Oracle games, which then led to him being shipwrecked in Link's Awakening).
I just like how the fact we get to experience a parallel world where one small different decision changes the whole timeline. Plus the wall merging is very fun, I dare say this game did open world better than BotW and TotK combined.
this is the first zelda game i completed and helped me feel a whole lot more confident in my ability to play games, since i had been told most of my life i was bad at it, and have pretty bad anxiety with games on top of that, but zelda has always been one of my favorite game series :)
This is the first time I’ve ever watched link between worlds, I’ve never played it, never seen anyone play it and I’m also a 1,000+ hours Zelda fan. I’m glad we‘re sharing this experience :)
I have replayed this game so many times I've lost count. I don't think its the most incredible, memorable Zelda game I've ever played, but what I love about it is that its so compact. Every part of it is just fun, there is no fat, no bad pacing, no backtracking, it just goes. And every time I play it I get sucked right back in.
This is my 2nd fave zelda game ever made, only outdone by Wind Waker I genuinely love watching youtubers play this game more than any other zelda(couple of reasons, but not spoiling for commentors) Glad to see you play this linkus!! I can’t wait till Linkus finds out how funny a lot of the glitches in this game are I will always love Double Ravio Feels like it has the same goofy energy WW glitches do and it’d be right up his alley
Handheld systems are amazing. Sure, the lack of any sort of screen lighting on the Game Boy Advance was really obnoxious, but they got so much better with rechargable batteries, and screen lighting.

Actually fuming at these mispronunciations, I can feel the chat's pain
How the hell do you mispronounce lorule?!
@@Odindoesstuffreallow rule
@@thedarkdoggy THATS HOW YOU PRONOUNCE IT
Link Between Worlds is one of my absolute favorite Zelda games, I'm so glad you gave it a try!!
"I think the water temple in Link's Awakening is also not bad. But it maybe just something about water dungeons in handhelds."
Uh yeah, Linkus? Jabu-Jabu called from Labrynna. He says his Belly took exception to something you said.
I had the same exact thought 😂 one of the few dungeons that I never felt bad about using a guide for, just to save on the tedium. Oracle of Ages had loads of cool mechanics but man were some of those dungeons rough compared to other Zelda games. I remember really enjoying Ancient Tomb right after Jabu Jabu, at least.
I love A Link Between Worlds! Glad you're giving a shot!
Looking forward for part 2!
How the hell does Linkus not know how to say "fiend" and "abominable".
Add it to the growing pile of "can this man read" moments
I really enjoyed counting out each Maiamai with a Pog, was one of the best parts about the streams lol
Would love to see some A Link Between Worlds Randomizers Linkus, if that is even a thing yet!
I'm not a big fan of A Link to the Past, but Link Between Worlds was a nice little surprise. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It's been a few years; probably worth a replay soon.
The “my name is yuga” sounded soo real I was so confused 2:25
Linkus is NOT having his chat help him with words
Hey, little advice for you, sometimes, there are things you can only see in the dark. Try and turn off the lights.
(I've played albw and was looking for an item that the path to the chest was hidden in the light. It's a very useful item.)
The most recent video I've seen of someone playing this game, glad to see some other people are playing with this again! I dug up my old 3ds and haven't stopped playing since. It's amazing! I almost have 100% completion, I love this game!
This was the only zelda game ive 100% and it's pretty close to my favorite. Hope you enjoyed it and cant wait for pt2
This is hands down my favorite 2d Zelda game. I'm so happy you see you playing it and enjoying "most" of your time.
Sweet! Been waiting for this one, thanks a bunch for the upload 💙 Happy to see you finally play ALBW
ALBW is the perfect little self contained story. Like if Zelda games were Magic the Gathering cards, it would be like you owning a favorite card and one day someone gave you a Japanese foil, autographed by the artist of your favorite card as a gift. It doesn’t effect anything in terms of the wider story/function but it sure does put a smile on your face.
i remember when i was 9 getting my first 3ds and playing a link between worlds it was the best game i have ever played I'm so glad Linkus finally playing
one week later: "Zelda Speedrunner Speedruns Link Between Worlds for the FIRST TIME"
First zelda game I ever finished. Very cool 👍
YES this is my favourite zelda game to play back too from my childhood
Now someone need to make a mod where EVERYTHING has icy floor mechanics lol
i still remember my first death in the wind temple, the nostalgia is actually insane
this is the first zelda game i completed and helped me feel a whole lot more confident in my ability to play games, since i had been told most of my life i was bad at it, and have pretty bad anxiety with games on top of that, but zelda has always been one of my favorite game series :)
This is the first time I’ve ever watched link between worlds, I’ve never played it, never seen anyone play it and I’m also a 1,000+ hours Zelda fan. I’m glad we‘re sharing this experience :)
this was the first zelda game i ever completed, it's still one of my absolute favorites to this day
First time commenting on my birthday! Love ur vids :)
Happy Birthday! 🎉
I got this game 5 years ago. It's one of my favorite zelda games of all time.
This is my 2nd fave zelda game ever made, only outdone by Wind Waker
I genuinely love watching youtubers play this game more than any other zelda(couple of reasons, but not spoiling for commentors)
Glad to see you play this linkus!! If you thought 1000 koroks was bad, theres a reward for dodging cuccoos for 15 minutes straight on hardest mode
I LOVE the DS Zelda Games so much. Triforce heroes was so fun for me, as the co-op mechanics were just hilarious and amazing! I love this game so much as well, so it’s nice to watch someone experience it for the first time!
I can’t wait till Linkus finds out how funny a lot of the glitches in this game are
I will always love Double Ravio
Feels like it has the same goofy energy WW glitches do and it’d be right up his alley
this is one of my favorite zelda games. thank you so much for playing it! can't wait to see part 2!
this game's dungeons are some of the best in the series in my opinion. surprising more people haven't played it
Handheld systems are amazing. Sure, the lack of any sort of screen lighting on the Game Boy Advance was really obnoxious, but they got so much better with rechargable batteries, and screen lighting.
Omg this is my all time favorite!!! Thank you so much for making this!
Would love to see more of this and also maybe a phantom hourglass playthrough along with a randomizer of both said games!
I forgot how great the game's sound design was
This is one of the few Zelda games I actually enjoy 100%, you get rewards constantly as mile stones and its just plainly fun.
I got a total of 8 15 second unskippable ads
I 100%ed this game so long ago.
I loved it!
10/10 i would recommend!
ALBW (particularly Hilda) is literally half of my personality. It’s such a good game. My absolute favorite. So glad to see Linkus is playing it and it’s been getting the love it deserves over the years. I really do wish TOTK took more from it
I love this game tbh
This game single-handedly brought me back to playing zelda and dungeon crawlers in general
