  • Hey guys , here’s a problem I’ve been dealing with the past few weeks, usually I keep my locs protected and tied up, I slacked for a little and this happens .A lot of people can wear their locs down and don’t have this problem. I think this problem came for me because I oil the back of my locs a lot which attract lint . Comment down below how you get rid of embedded lint !

    Just to clarify on a regular I only use rose water to moisturize , but because after you dye your hair it’s important to condition I’ve used the box dye conditioner diluted for a couple days after dying.

    Our locs don't really need oil thats what attracts lint. Water is all we really need. Beautiful 👑 family.🙏💓

    This video literally just saved my life 😭 my locs are FILLED with noticeable lint. After an Avc wash, the lint came to the surface and it was uncomfortably noticeable after that. I really didn’t know what I was going to do ! I’m so thankful that i found this video 🤎🤎

      Omg this is me right now. I've been so bummed out about it because the lint is unsightly and it's deeply embedded in my locs at the back of my head and along my edges. I was actually considering cutting my locs off and starting over. Did you end up dyeing your locs?

    Hey queen,
    Just a tip: when you are around the house wrap your hair in a silk scarf or put on a satin bonnet. I know sometimes scarfs and/or bonnets may slip off at night (especially if you are a wild sleeper) , so make sure you sleep on a satin pillow case. I hope this may help from keeping you lint free

    The color looks great on you. I’m having the same issues smh. The ones I have problems with are in the back for me too. I wonder if it’s my bonnet? I’m not even a year locd (8 months) but my hair locd quickly. I was trying to pick it out, got frustrated over how I was basically undoing my locs, and said screw it.

    I ended up cutting my locs that I’d been growing for 3 years because of this same issue. I went to get my locs dyed and my loctician wouldn’t dye it…..so I cut it. I miss my babies. 😩. But the lint drove me crazy til I picked apart a few locs seeing just how “linty” my locs were.

      @@missunique5414If you keep using oils, the debris and lint will be back. I don’t use oils anymore cause that’s not what parents used back in the day. They just used grease or pomades on the scalp and a leave in conditioner/moisturizer. Good luck!

    This looks more like buildup from shampoo/conditioner.... it looks fuzzy when pulling it out but it tends to feel slightly moist or oily and clumped... lint won’t really embed into your locs like that to the capacity (that’s a lot of embedded stuff in there) I’ve come to understand it’s imperative to thoroughly rinse out and squeeze shampoo from the hair. I heavily dilute my shampoo to ensure less buildup but sometimes it gets stuck at my ends but next wash I pay for attention more and it comes out.
    The color looks great btw !!!! Absolutely love your hair 💜💜💜

    • @IZATVdr
      @IZATVdr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you , I actually do that I truly think my lint came from over piling the back of my head w coconut oil and forgetting to wrap my locs at night , because they weren’t there at the beginning of this year and it’s only in the back row of my head

    • @IZATVdr
      @IZATVdr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have any recommendations on what I can do moving forward tho (including diluting the shampoo)

    • @neen8369
      @neen8369 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@IZATVdr ohhh okay, yea coconut oil is pretty tricky since it can easily harden when cooled and with rubbing on your pillow and such I see how that can happen.... maybe try other oils that don’t harden when cooled? I use grape seed oil for my hair.

    • @neen8369
      @neen8369 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@IZATVdr I wash my hair in the sink instead of the shower so I squeeze maybe a teaspoon to tablespoon only shampoo into my 360 mist bottle and fill with warm water.... when my hair is dry I start spraying my roots and hair and massaging it in as I go and continue to spray.... I thoroughly rinse and squeeze it out as best as possible and then I do it again. refill bottle with a teaspoon to tablespoon of shampoo, add water, shake it up and repeat that process. I find that double shampooing really gets everything out.
      If you prefer to wash in the shower then do the same thing with the mist bottle or even just an applicator bottle. the key is just making the shampoo mixture heavily watered down, but enough in their to create suds. I hope this helps!! 💜
