Thank you so much for going into detail with your process, yes it was extremely helpful and informative. Your hair color is gorgeous and it truly suits you, I lighten my natural hair as well. Again thank you!!
1st of all, your hair is beautiful 🔥🔥🔥. Love it❤. My question is, this colour is only for your roots. What about your entire hair. What colour did you use? I need to colour my hair as well, but looking for the exact colour you have for your entire head.
I colored my hair with the same color before having locs and before that I had a slightly different shade of brown from Dark and Lovely that you might notice on the very ends of my locs. Other than that, my entire head has been colored the same color through touching up the roots as they grow out. I will note that some strands seemed to get lighter during the summer when I'm outside a lot so it gives the appearance of more dimension, but I promise I'm using the same color that I was 4-5 years ago haha
I'll also note that my ends have lightened up a lot on their own and that they aren't the original color that I dyed them...again, I think it's just sunbleaching mixed with how the color faded over time.
It was either Brown Cinnamon or Brown Sugar. Still in the brown shades. My ends lightened a lot on their own overtime, so the color that you see on my ends isn't how it originally looked.
I rinse throughly and then do my regular wash a few days later or the following week. My hair is generally a few days to a week post-wash when I dye it.
Stop the madness. Box dyes are terrible for my locs. No cap, no conditioner, no little brown rubber bands - they get tangled and cut like a knife. She is not a typical loc. Her hair looks healthy for now.
@@melodylyles9892. This is true. Box dye is WORST for the hair than bleach. We learned this in cosmetology school. Hence, why you don’t see hairstylist using box dye.
Hi how you, I am new to your TH-cam channel and I just finished watching your video you dreadlocks are absolutely beautiful I love this color I was thinking of coloring my hair this color and wanted to ask you question if you don't mind I have my deadlocks for 2 years so I'm completely locked up and i wanted to know should I be using the developer like 30 volume creme to help me lift this color So it would penetrate deeper into my dreadlocks and get a better results or should I just use what comes in the box by itself I just wanted to make sure before I colored my hair also I have small to medium locs so I have 135 dreadlocks thank you in advance and have a blessed day
Welcome! I personally haven't ever mixed other third party products with what comes in the box, but I have seen some videos of others doing it...because I haven't tried it both ways on my own naturally dark hair then I'm not exactly sure if it would work better or not. I do know that on dark and lovely'a website, for this color, they mentioned that the products in the box provide 2.5 levels of lift. A 30 developer would be ideal for lifting 3 levels depending on texture and natural hair color. If there was going to be a difference, my assumption is that it wouldn't be by a ton, but DISCLAIMER, I am not a professional and I've just been doing my own hair forever!
Hey I know you said that the ends are from time and the sun, but you also mentioned that you used a slightly different shade of brown, do you remember the shade?
I was going to ask the same question, so what do toi reccomend to achieve😮 the same look as your as far as the lighter ends ? Like you said i want the look but dont want to lose/damage my ends…first time loc dyer here btw so im nervous lol
It honestly looks different in different lights and even between different cameras. The color is labeled "sunkissed brown", but it is closer to a warm auburn to me and sometimes appears oranger in the summer. I don't mind it.
Whew that was a time ago 😅 but it was either Brown Cinnamon or Brown Sugar. My ends lightened a lot on their own overtime from probably being outside and swimming, so the color that you see on my ends isn't how it originally looked.
@@locsandthecitythe ends are lighter because most box dyes have peroxide which lightens hair, overtime as the color fades, you’re left with the “bleached” hair
This is the best tutorial. I absolutely love the color.
Thank you so much!
I love this color on you it’s perfect for your skin tone
girl obviously your tutorial is great but the SOUND is CRISPYYYYY!!!! Yesssssss i love the quality!
Thank you so much for going into detail with your process, yes it was extremely helpful and informative. Your hair color is gorgeous and it truly suits you, I lighten my natural hair as well. Again thank you!!
This video is extremely helpful. I color my hair the way you do and it works. Thank you
I only color my hair black, but your locks are pretty and healthy with the color you chose. Nice job.
Yea, they're the gloves like the ones that come with perms and their instructions lol...hoping to try and color my locs soon maybe using this product.
Thanks for the detailed video, very informative and helpful. Beautiful color, love it! Beautiful on you!!
You have a beautiful head of hair and smile! Nice color! I will try and color my hair without bleach next time. Thanks!
Beautiful!
When you did all of your loc, how many boxes did you use?
I had been coloring my hair prior to locs...and I think I used just over 2 boxes at the time, so I bought 3 total.
Thank you for this! I colored my hair just like yours before I locked it 2 years ago. Now I know how to re-color it.
You're so welcome!
Finally I get a chance to watch this video. Hi twin!!! 👋🏽

You did a fantastic job, im going to di mine😊😊
Your locs are Beautiful
Love this!!❤❤
Thanks so much for this informative content 🙏🏽
Hi did you bleach your hair before color
I didn't. I only used what comes in the box.
What color is on the ends?
It was either Brown Cinnamon or Brown Sugar. Still in the brown shades. My ends lightened a lot on their own overtime, so the color that you see on my ends isn't how it originally looked.
@@locsandthecity
It looks really good!!
Thank you!!
Love this color. Typically, dye mine lighter almost blonde. Now with locs i will do your color for darker shade. Do you wash after dying your hair??
No you dont need to wash your hair after dying it. Just need to rinse the dye out until the water runs clear !
Please try to avoid using any bleach products for your locs. They will ruin them over time. This is a perfect solution since it’s no bleach 🙌🏾

Quick question: Why don't you wash your hair after coloring it?
Hey I know you said that the ends are from time and the sun, but you also mentioned that you used a slightly different shade of brown, do you remember the shade?
It was either Brown Cinnamon or Brown Sugar from dark and lovely. The color on my ends now doesn't look like how it was when I first did it years ago.

Are those sister locs or no ?
Soo beautiful..how many locs do you have
Around 360/370 ish
The color looks very orange brown I’m not sure if you’re using natural lighting or if your camera has some settings that make the color look like this
It honestly looks different in different lights and even between different cameras. The color is labeled "sunkissed brown", but it is closer to a warm auburn to me and sometimes appears oranger in the summer. I don't mind it.
Do you remember the dark and lovely colour you used on your ends? ❤

You are pretty, you resemble the singer Amerie to me.
