Nice report. I bought my 2019 qx80 Luxe six months ago with under 60,000 miles. I've driven it for 10,000 miles and I must say that, if you don't mind using you phone for Google maps, you can't buy a more capable truck with a better engine, well-appointed interior and ravishing looks at a lower price than the QX80. And knowing my QX80 was entirely made in Japan by craftsmen and women truly proud of their craft, it's a great feeling too.
Just because there are better options out there from different manufacturers doesn’t mean that everyone else will buy them. Some people are brand loyal, and if those things that are missing really mattered to me I would either wait for the redesign or add them myself.
I buy cars for reliability not for next years technology. Owned a 2017 for 2 years and very pleased with the vehicle all around. Reliable Strong and Cozy is what I would describe this car
I'll take infiniti over Range Rover and Mercedes any day even with some of the outdated features. You cannot keep those cars past 3 years unless you plan on spending thousands on parts and service per year. Reliability is essential if you travel long distances in your vehicle.
The rear turn signals are not only ridiculous; I'm surprised they don't violate safety regulations. I usually assume that every vehicle has fans of some kind and it's their business how they spend their money. In this case, I struggle to imagine who would buy it.
Just picked up a 2014 loaded to the max, with 72k miles at 35% of the original 81k window sticker. Very happy so far. I have a 23 foot boat to tow, and a family, so I needed a big SUV. This fit the bill, but the Navigator, Expedition, and Escalade, or Denali were other good options.
The Lexus lx 570 and this infiniti qx80 are the king of all suvs.🦁two beast suvs my favorite all suvs piece of unreliable 💩💩💩💩compared to these two suvs. This infiniti qx80 is beast
Derrion Brumfield he actually makes a good point. In their class, aside from the Escalade, every other “SUV” is a car. The LX and QX are true trucks. And overseas, they’re well respected for being durable brutes.
@@DeeeBeee123 his comment makes absolute sense. Perhaps you have no idea about Lexus and Infiniti's reliability and their presence all across the world. Check their sales numbers in other parts of the world and compare it with the best sellers in the US.
Always look forward to your reviews. Absolutely spot on! Another great job by the Mass kid. I bought a used Navigator for half the price and love it. Extra 10K for similar QX80 just didn't make sense. Plus the 3rd row was useless.
A friend in so cal just got one...she's pretty but so many last decade features! At least he's not still driving the Lexus ES 2008 with 233,000 Miles that became a money pit...Still don't know his 6'3" frame fit!! THX!
Totally agree. Placing the turn signals at bumper height level is totally asinine. Especially since the QX80’s taillights are about 3 feet away from the turn signal lights.
navigator is a piece of crap ugly long box with a baby v6 does not matter it has turbos,qx80 is a beast lookwise and BTW suvs dont need fancy tech aur fancy navigations.Navigator is an ureliable piece of shit with aided v6,it cannot beat the sound of a v8.
Who cares? Look at the quality of the competitors, the escalade and the navigator might appear fancier, but the quality is low. Stitching doesn't line up , rattles appear, long term reliability is bad.
This is an off road vehicle made for towing and a work horse and a body on frame. Engineering is for tough work with luxury. Known in the world to compare to the Land Rover
This vehicle has had so many refresh looks it’s ridiculous. Infiniti really needs to update ALL of their cars. That’s why their sales are down , so much cut cost ,and hammy down parts from much older vehicles from its predecessor 🤦🏿♂️. INFINITI needs to either get themselves together or get out of the luxury/Japanese market brand period ,and make tools 🧰 or lawnmowers.
I disagree I’ve owned ml s gle’s gls I drive them all up to 200,000 miles on all never had a problem as long as you do your maintenance your good I keep all of them for 4 years
Yeah not really. The Telluride is nice but that doesnt compete with this. The QX80 offers quality that is vast superior to the KIA. The QX80 may be dated, but its reliable, tried and true. The Telluride is a brand new platform (a car basically) with zero info on its reliability. The VK56 5.6L will go hundreds of thousands of miles. Not to mention the insane power difference here.
Great review, absolutely terrible vehicle. Why anybody... with deep pockets, would buy this suv is beyond me. Too many far better choices on the market.

That’s exactly why I bought a 2020 QX80. Reliability to me is a huge luxury.
@@hertzair1186 💯 🙌. Had a RR before switching to the QX80, RR broke down 4 times. Last time cost me $6500 to repair. Painful lesson.
Made in Japan. Period!
You are wrong about the lumbar support in the front seats. They are the most robust I have experienced after owning cars from BMW and MB.
Great value used. 2018 has the same generation body. You can get one in the $40s
The rear turn signals are not only ridiculous; I'm surprised they don't violate safety regulations. I usually assume that every vehicle has fans of some kind and it's their business how they spend their money. In this case, I struggle to imagine who would buy it.
There are tons of vehicles with this design.
I agree…I like the bold styling…but the turn signals do seem misplaced or an afterthought.
Seems like Infinity like to middle finger the auto world and just do what they want…

@@JokerG16 very true!
The most Masculine looking SUV

Agreed
My next car.!
Holy shit, a reviewer that I can watch

Is Portlandia doing car reviews now?
Qx80 any time, maybe boring(and reliable) but not clunker aka Chevy/Ford/Dodge.

The Nissan Armada is almost just as good. That engine is fantastic. Great option
This covered wagon is pure profit for Infiniti. Maybe they're putting some bucks away for an upgrade in 2025.
Do not like the lower placement of the Directional lights. I have them on my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, there should be a minimum height law.
Totally agree. Placing the turn signals at bumper height level is totally asinine. Especially since the QX80’s taillights are about 3 feet away from the turn signal lights.
A Hyundai 😂
Bextar636 Yea lmao like how are you supposed to see that if you’re in tight traffic..
When are they going to seriously update this vehicle? The infotainment is just a joke...$92K? Buy a Navigator instead.

Hey, "Experts", I still see original Navigators around even Escalades from 20 years ago. How many QX56s have you seen driving around?
Definitely take a competitor
Amen brother!!!

What a dinosaur!
Monster
basically the 2017, 2018, and 2019
Update the infotainment already!!! I don’t see why anyone would buy this car and actually enjoy daily use
You can easily add Apple Car play and Android Auto. You can go even further and change it out for a Tesla Screen Style.
What does this guy know about going off to war?
Half price depreciation within a year

Escalade and Navigator are far better options
two big pieces of unreliable crap.JAPANESE reliability No.1 escalade and navigator are very unreliable suvs.
So old and not very fuel efficient. Evwn TFL Car said you can see the pixels in the infotainment screen!
I'll buy the Kia Telluride over this. The interior looks more luxurious and tech wise, it's definitely much better.
My thoughts exactly... this doesn't even offer lumbar support...kia Telluride for half the price but double the amenities
The Telluride is just a fat and long car. This is true truck.
Joe E. The Kia telluride isn’t even in the same category as the QX80.. This is a body on frame truck that is able to tow 8500 pounds.

Get a Mitsubishi Pajero for that price..
Wow - that's Inifiniti's best? Unimpressive

I'll go with a Toyota Land Cruiser thank you 😇
I love the exterior, but the interior is awful.
It’s ok
But not good lol

They won’t. These will sit on lots like existing models do, with dealerships slashing prices 10-15K just to shlep them off the lot
