The QX80 came first, not vice versa (to the complainers above). It's "only a $44,000+ vehicle" since Nissan created the Armada after it (which is gonna cost $50K+ BTW, unless you get a barebones one). I'd say, the QX80's really a $60-$70+ thousand Infinity SUV in the current market. Saying all that: I would buy or lease a 2-3 yr old CPO Armada for $25-$30K. It's 90% the same vehicle as the QX80, minus some decorative distinctions and 10 hp.

Great video, guys! You said you would lease it so as not to eat the depreciation, but my understanding is that’s exactly what a lease is. The dealer predicts what the car will be worth after three years and a certain amount of miles and then your lease pays the difference. I appreciate all of the hard work you guys do!
Ryan Porche you would only eat the depreciation on a lease if you chose to buy it out at the end of the lease term, which the lessee has no obligation to do. However if you are happy with the buyout figure (the residual) then it may very well be worthwhile to buy the vehicle and pay the remaining amount via financing. Also keep in mind the residual cost is discussed up front during original negotiations, so there shouldn’t be any surprises to the lessee about their buyout cost down the line. Leases are sometimes a great option but as a consumer you must always do your due diligence to see what makes sense for you.
@@robertopolanko6707 comparing the QX to the LandCruiser/LX is laughable. It's obvious with the resale value on these. You can pick up a 1-2 year old QX80 with under 50k miles for $35-40k.. Meanwhile you'd be lucky to find a similarly used LC/LX for under $60k.
It's a competitor to a durable long lasting global vehicle. The gauges are practical, the lesser the gadgets the lesser of damages. Interesting review. I'll take a new Land Rover Discovery over the Infinity. The Disco is a true SUV that has a 3rd row that seats two full size adults comfortably. Its also the most capable off road SUV and for less than $90.
Why would you spend $91K on a car that is pretty much the same as the Armada? Same goes for a Cadullac Escalate and the Tahoe/Yukon, Lexus LX and Land Cruiser, Navigator and Expedition. I don't get it.
