So many reviewers are not even bothering to fine tune their wheel settings before giving impressions. Thanks for actually putting in the effort to get the most from your setup.
The thing is, they shouldn't have to.. Turn10 should of had profiles for Popular wheel basis from the get go
I understand not having good defaults for all wheels, but the most popular definitely should have good defaults
I agree and it honestly annoys me in most cases. What makes it worse is some popular streamers and youtubers like Jimmy were complaining about it without even touching any of the settings.
@@RoyalATP : Exactly!! Why bothering with all those 20 parameters. It absolutely sucks. That should work out of the box. In iracing you have 2 settings and everythig is fine. Maybe Forza wanted to win a price for the most confusing parameter FFB setup.
@@valkeitos Right, they just complain rather than actually getting into the settings and fixing the problems which would be much more useful for players. The game actually had much improved wheel support if you change the settings. Sim racers arenât going to mind changing a few settings anyway since they do that for most games.

OMG THIS VIDEO SAVED MY LIFE. I have been playing with the settings since the release of the game. No matter what I tried I would turn into the corner and the front end would completely lose grip and go straight like as if I was on Ice. I tried every setting and could not find a solution I used all your settings and the problem still happened. So therefore I knew it was not the settings and I started to troubleshoot the wheel and realized with the controller on in the wheel on at the same time this was the cause of my problems. Thank you for providing a Baseline and given me a reason to look outside the settings and solve my problem
Man you are a life saver, your settings helped a ton, especially when trail braking and mid corner at exit. The wheel used to feel off and unrealistic, it has totally changed everything now. Thanks a ton.

nice, the mechanical trail scale was the setting i was looking for, i could not understand why break of traction made my wheel so disgustingly light. now i know. I have the Moza R9 so these settings should work pretty well.
Called understeer what you wanna feel. Tells you. I have it at 60. This is mental will try it all but vibration!!??ð nah. What a wolly. Off..

You must really like a tight wheel. That much in game and on base dampening will guarantee you don't feel a single detail.
@@garrett9839 haha yea I know it isn't ideal and I was trying ways to overcome oscillation. After some more testing and watching videos from various great Sim racing channel I think I finally got mine done now (no longer heavy and no more oscillation) :) it was a tough but fun learning journey haha
@@nothingproheretv I finally got mine in a spot where it doesn't feel completely loose on the straights, and also allows me to hit the e-brake and throw the rear around whilst also letting the wheel go to catch it on an auto center.
Like I used to do in my 97 Camry as a teenager on snow. Haha.

I understand that these games are made for controller first and wheel second. But because they have wheel support, I just don't understand why the developers don't spend a few hours of time to create great default wheel settings for the top wheels on the market. Are you telling me there isn't a single staff member at turn 10 that does sim racing? It boggles my mind!
That was my first thought! Like how does not one person at t10 plug a damn wheel into the game and see how it worksâĶ is the no Q.C. Dept/Play test at all?

@@DrMatt96 I donât think this is a great excuse. An experienced sim racer could do this in a single day and still have a far more tuned experience than what ships.
Simulation regarding what? No game simulates real life. In each Sim they program and encode physics and sensations differently. In the end everything is a matter of personal taste and that is why they have made multiple configuration options possible so that each person can leave it to their liking.

Load sensitvity is for road oscillations and bounces. Similar as Road Feel Scale but for lower frequency bumps, instead of the high frequency bumps of curbs.
Dynamic damping doesn't increase damping. It reduces the damping as tires slip in order to reduce the unwanted effects of the damping. The default was set to 100 for this reason

I did however made 2 changes, vibration is set to 0 and Mechanical Trail Scale set to 200. Oh also, I suggest you try to disable ABS. I had it on initially like you suggested but personally I feel that braking is much better without it when using a load cell brake pedal ð
Yes, your absolutely right, Greg! Vibration urgently needs to turned off, otherwise it just overcovers all FFB effects with constant vibration which feels absolutely not natural!

I have the exact same setup, how on earth did you like his setting recommendations? I tried his settings and the wheel felt like a floppy numb pos.
Settings work great on the t818, i dialed ffb in-game down to 45.

Glad your Moza R12 base is working so well. I cannot get my Moza R12 base to work with this game whatsoever. It works with all my other racing sims/games including FH5. Nothing is mapped even if I go an try to use the Moza R12 CS input setting. All mappings just show as "unknown device", and if I try to map anything to my wheel/peddles, it just shows "Device 1, Input 3" no matter what axis, button, peddle I try to map.
I had a Logitech HOTAS plugged in that had a small joystick that was drifting, which was stealing the input when I was trying to bind the wheel controls. Once I unplugged that, I was able to bind my controls to the R12. I did have the reverse the force feedback for it to work correctly though. Now, the only problem is that the graphics start failing a few minutes into a practice session at Laguna Seca, manifesting in sections of the track tuning a reflective black, then progressing into the entire track turning this weird reflective black if I continue on, ultimately forcing me to stop and exit. I get first post-session menu screen, but I I try to exit to the event setup, then the entire screen goes black, forcing me to kill the app.
Just thought I would pass my experience on to those what might be experiencing similar issues. I'm sure an update of the graphics drivers or game will fix at some point.
Most relevant, your settings work very well for me and my Moza R12 (with FFB reversed in Moza Pit House).
make sure to turn off base/pedal forza horizon 5 compatibility, that fixed it for me

Quick correction. You mentioned adjust the force feedback scale if you lowered pneumatic. That isn't necessary. Steering alignment scale is a combination of mechanical and pneumatic together. You can adjust that without affecting other overall FFB settings if you make an adjustment to pneumatic or mechanical trails.
Ok these settings you outlined worked wonders my man in case anyone wants to know I got the Moza R5 with a CS wheel these settings change r game in a very good way it feels so so much better
Iâm still using these and have very little feel on my R5. Maybe Iâm just used to iRacing? Guess Iâll do some more tweaking!
@@DMRVR Same issue here, copied these settings exactly on the R5 and very light feeling. I may be able to offer a solution. First Invert your FFB, Road feel to 125, Wheel Damping 165 (Still tinkering with this) , Centre spring scale 150, I'll warn you, its powerful but I like it that way. If this does correct the light feeling it should be just a case of dialling these down until it feels right for you :)

Nutze an meiner Series X nen csl DD 8nm und hab die Einstellungen getestet. Funktioniert soweit ganz gut, hab aber Asphalt GefÞhl und force Feedback auf 150 gestellt. So macht's richtig Spass Þber die Strecke zu ballern ððŧ
Einziges Problem was ich immer noch nicht ganz weg bekomme ist wenn's einfach gerade aus fÃĪhrst und Lenkrad los lÃĪsst, das es dieses durchgehend nach links und rechts am wobbeln ist. KÃķnnte dies weitestgehend beseitigen durch Inneren Toleranzbereich Lenkung auf 1 zu stellen (man spÞrt diese wobbeln immer noch minimal)
Fals ihr dieses wobbeln (hin und her wackeln bei geradeaus Fahrt habt) und evtl ne bessere LÃķsung dann gebt mir bitte Bescheid âðŧ

I'm using the same, you can try my settings. FEI 40, FF 100, DRI - 2 on the wheel. In game settings, Vibration scale, 40, FFS 90, SSA 100, MTS 65, PTS 125, RFS 200, LS 60, WDS 40, CSS 80, DDB 100, SS 40, SL 50.

Thanks for this I thought I had my settings dialed in on my R5 until I took the Supra to maple valley and yea settings not so good! Your settings though damn near perfect . One thing is on the R5 for some reason you have to invert FFB in game settings if not the feedback is a mess.

I honestly sat for hours and thought it was a waste of time trying to get any sence of real car or "sim" feel from the wheel. I finally got it close but still not there yet. But one major thing that i cant explain helped. If you turn invert the ffb, it for some reason makes the car way more realistic in my opinion. It actually feels like the weight is being thrown around vs just an immediate oversteer/understeer feel. Also, it helps if you tune the ffb on a per car basis. Dumb addition but its there in tuning.
what wheelbase do you have? as some need to be inverted, you probably had reverse ffb before you inverted it

Used ur settings for thrust mater tx wheel and they work fine they managed to dial out the excessive rumble while driving in a straight line not sure which setting fixed this could u advise cheers ð
That would be wheel damping scale (the shaking on the straights ) and the shaking in the corners would be vibration scale.. I got 20 vibration, 15 damping scale for tx ððŧ

I have a big problem with ABS sometimes even 10% of power break my cars is loosing controlling, on the xbox pad is great but witch wheel is something very wrong, do you know maybe why?

Many settings you didn't touch or didn't like such a center spring I use at 80
But I'm using a Simucube 2 Pro and 1080* steering angle with around 16nm - Asher F28 wheel and HE Ulti pedals
For Simucube owners I will be posting the profile so everyone can copy it, I will put my final in-game settings in the description; but currently I'm still fine tunning.
I like max FOV and my view is the cockpit so can see the arms and steering wheel

Great settings to start with and thanksðð. The driving on the limit feels really outstanding and iRacing or Rennsport are jokes in comparison (not all cars, not all track).

So the R12 works with Forza, good to know. The only list the R9 with CS and GS wheels as compatible.

Did you have a problem with the wheel locking to center when starting game and not working after that?
I have the same wheel base and these setting feel good except when turning i feel like the wheel is pulling very hard in whichever direction im turning as if the tyres are falling into a rut and i have to fight the wheel to get it back to centre. any idea what setting i could adjust to reduce this feeling?
I had the same..self alignment to 0 fixed it for me.
Itâs either the mechanical trail is too high or you need to invert the FFB
Self alignment is also directly related to the mechanical trail strength from the description
For me I had to invert the FFB. Never had to do that before on a racing sim/game but here I did. All better now. @BOKtober

road scale %110 in game but %20 in pithouse? how come? I feel like some or most of those setting issues could have been mitigated in pithouse and then the settings could have been made downloadable.
i try simulation with g920 and the snap oversteer is insane even in a stock BRZ.... on normal steering i can drift just fine and this is coming from an experienced assetto drifter

Unfortunately the majority of players that try a wheel most likely have a Logitech G29 and will be instantly put off by how dull it feels then go back to a controller, they will have no clue how to tune it up to feel remotely good. Turn 10 needs to update the game asap with solid settings for these players.

@@CatTrashRacing Almost on top of the advanced input page (4th from top) is setting âInvert force feedbackâ. Just turn it on and try Joeâs settings. Without this âSteering self alignmentâ doesnât work properly and you canât get good feeling on Simucube wheel ð
Can confirm this works. RF2 does this too, but it automatically sets it. Made all the difference.

In my Moza R5 i have various issues...
-It feels light at the center and then all of a sudden it turns to the left hard, it alone.
-A soon as I hit the brakes in a turn, ffb seems to turn off.
-I cant navigate the menus with the wheel buttons at all...

What setting(s) controls the ability to feel tire grip, specifically reaching the limits of it? ...That feeling when you drive through a corner and you are reaching the limit of tire grip, and the tire starts to break free and "chatter"... I want to feel the car pushing out to the track limit as understeer tries to take over. How do i obtain this with sim racing?
I'm just not feeling the grip. The car feels very floaty especially thru corners. I'm looking for ACC type grip on my FFB. Using a Moza r5. Has anyone got any settings to really make you feel the grip? Like every other racing sim?

In the past FM versions, when T10 said that when using a wheel "Normal" and "Simulation" are actually the same, that they only have an effect with a controller which gets overridden when a wheel is used, is that still true?

I'm using a moza r5 and I played all day of the 5th with no issues and I came to play this morning to find all my controls and settings cleared and my wheel acts like it's on 5â° of rotation and max ffb.

Hey there, yes that is the case. I also use an Asetek Invicta for FM, which is also not supported. As long as the game "recognizes" it as a wheel (for FFB), it is totally fine to set the rest up as custom input. - Rene
I did this an now I just need to understand how to remove the understeer from every single car. Will you be making a tuning setup video?
Crazy but I make setup all the time in AC and ACC but I cant get reliable setups to work on this game. GT3 cars have too much understeer on corner entry and once you finish battling that you are snapped with oversteer. I have to go significantly slower in En rouge in the Audi LMS in FM than ACC and AC.
I have a TMX and have the wheel set at 900 degree rotation , but in the game I only get 270 degrees of rotation , is there anyway to change this as I don't see an option in any of the game settings to change it .

Check your brake pedal outer zone on input settings in game.. default is 50 instead of 95 in my game so your only using half the brake pedal and end up locking up at the slightest touch.. after saving it as a custom profile make sure you apply it every time you load the game as it seems to load the default 50 profile instead of the saved 95 one for me
How do you change degrees of rotation? It seems locked at 560.

I have a Moza R12 as well. I did these settings but it still feels like crap. When the wheel is centered there's very little resistance when turning up until about 20 degrees into the turn then suddenly I get a lot of resistance... dead dead BOOM. Note: I have everything with dead zone set to 0.

I'm gonna try your rec on this and see how I like it everything feels overly sensitive compared to something like Assetto Corsa especially the brakes it's bad like really bad I have a Moza R5 so this might work well
I know in forza horizon 5 I had to turn wheel damper setting completely off and just use the one built into the wheel and it made a massive improvement, it went from unplayable to decent. So I'll try 20 for this game and compare it with off, I have a feeling it will need to be turned off or atleast very low.

Thereâs too many settings for the wheels.. it makes finding the right setting for your exact wheel next to impossible because each wheel is different.
They do a TERRIBLE job at describing each setting, not only that, but each CAR feels different ðĪ·ââïļ like what were they thinking honestly. I went right back to Gran Turismo.
This has continued to be one of the major issues with the Forza series when using a FFB wheel. The developer isn't providing decent baseline settings for the major wheel types, and leaves it up to the user to spend the time to figure it out for themselves. I was hoping it would be different with Forza Motorsports, but this simply isn't the case yet again. This is not only true for the FFB, but for the wheel rotation % as well.
If someoneâs got the Thrustmaster TX settings please drop It here . Would be really appreciated ð
Use the settings in this video they have worked for me on my tx wheel will probably make a few adjustments but has got rid of excessive rumble while driving in a straight line hope this helps ð

Did anybody reading this, played this on triple screen? If yes, does it scale it a bit properly? Or is the image just very stretched? I could turn off 2 screens but would be playing on a 32" then, which is a bit small.
The mirror closer to the driver side isn't too stretched, but the one on the opposite side is pretty stretched.
My 3080ti also struggled to run the game at such a high resolution.

played it on "fake-triples" and through VORPX on my Pimax headset ... what giving me headaches is, that the FOV slider is still very, very limited
@christophzochling6773 Yeah that suck. Don't have access to the game yet. Tried FH5 on my center screen. Also in that game, the scaling is better that way on cockpit view. But way to small. Will give it a try on gamepass and see if I can live with it. They would pull a lot more people into if it just had proper camera settings
