Thank you for the video. My husband brought one home as a gift from a client in December, it was a bulb in a jar filled with water. The pretty flowers bloomed around Christmas. I will attempt to place the bulb into soil and leave in a sunny area. Hopefully the pretty flowers come back!

Do other people have a hard time tolerateing their scent? I read so many articles of the having such an amazing scent that could fill the apartments. Well they can stink up an area but for me and my family it smells sicky sweet especially when it is light out. For me its so strong I got a headache.
Very nice. This Christmas was the first time I planted a paperwhite and sure enough it started blooming about four weeks after I planted it and it is really lush and beautiful right now, but I didn’t know what I was going to do with it after it stopped blooming. So, now I know that I can cut back the flowers and then keep it in side until next Christmas. Is that right?
Yes, by summer it's leaves will die down. At that time stop watering and store it in garage or garden. Next winters, apart watering and it will sprout again
I'm doing the opposite. Mine seemed to rejuvenate a bit in the soil -some of them anyway. Some of them are big and plump while others divided. I am now going to force the big and plump ones again in the winter and replant the smaller bulbs to grow some more. You are right though, in the ground nothing happens except leaves for me - zone 8 north carolina.
Are you fertilizing and feeding regularly once they’re in the soil and until they start dying back? They need as much energy as possible to store again throughout the growing season to bloom again the following fall/winter. Forcing them to grow only in water depletes them of their ability to create new flowers. The flowers that you see initially when they’re growing only in water were created the previous growing season-in soil. Anyway I don’t understand why people throw them away, like that other person said, offsets will be born, and that’s how you get new ones.

Thank you! I bought mine just like yours from Wal-mart and was curious if I could plant them in soil! This helped me out a lot!
Awesome
I bought one today and I want to be able to take care of it well.
this is great, but i was looking forward to close up of the surgery : )
I got few of these and one has started to bloom now, once all done will do what you have said,
I love my paperwhites. My bulbs are 8 years old now, and have divided.
Awesome, they must be sprouting now
Nice! Are you growing them in water or soil?

Once they are in potted soil, do we water them until then year and if so, how often?
Water them like any other plant. Once the leaves die down, stop watering till next winter

what zone are u in? did it rebloom? thx
Yes they rebloomed 2 years in a row
It will be interesting to see what happens, thanks.
Yes. If they do well in soil, they will eventually bloom.
My plant is done blooming, what can I do now? I don't want to throw it in the garage.
Plant them in soil as I did
Did they bloom in the spring or the next year? So curious!
Yes
And they are sprouting again
@@EasyPeasyGardening can I put them in soil if they haven’t bloomed yet. They’re only about 4in tall
@@aliyahmason9556 it's not a good idea to disturb them at this stage. Do it after they finish blooming.

I have 2 bulbs, that I've already trimmed the leaves back, but didn't know what to do with the bulb. TFS
Amazing
I planted mine in soil. It’s been three seasons, no blooms, only leaves. I am going to dig them up and throw them away.
That's disappointing. Please try to add some phosphorus rich fertilizer. I am going to do the same.
