I really like your teaching style; clear and concise, but very detailed. Thanks for all the growing tips and design ideas. One of my favorite bulb videos this year.
I had just planted my Paperwhite bulbs, then watched your video. I quickly moved them in a cool dark place and will bring them out in a week or two. Thank you! You saved me from my usual leggy Paperwhites! Love your videos!
I grew paper whites last year and loved them until they started to fall over. This video is so detailed with all the instructions I need to grow them again. I’ll be picking some up today.
You taught us so well about forcing paper whites, thank you! You’ve made it look easy and worth trying. I’ve only forced them once and they turned ok but not as well as I was hoping. I did sow grass seed one year with some forced hyacinths for an Easter display and the grass worked great! I had to keep cutting it with scissors ☺️
Watching your videos and never met your grandmother I feel she has has been a HUGE inspiration to you. Teaching your love of gardening and sharing with us is so inspiring, I’ve learned so much throughout the years. Your teaching style is so easy to understand, bless you and your family. Happy holidays!
A couple of years ago I ordered all the new types available and forced them: Nir, Inbal and Ariel. Of course I ended up with a favorite, but now I can't remember which one it is. I may have to try it again when they go on sale again. This was the most comprehensive description of the paperwhites I have seen. You have put together an excellent presentation for us. I love paperwhites and have been renewed and expounded in my thinking with you video today. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. So many blessings sent your way...
I learn so much from your videos! Paperwhites have always been one of my favorites because they grew everywhere in my grandma's garden. Thank you for your informative, entertaining vlog!
Absolutely gorgeous! I always learn so much from your videos. And you addressed the fragrance so beautifully. I am one of those people who do not find the fragrance appealing (I am quite sensitive to many fragrances) so it’s good to know that some bulbs do not have a scent. The gift ideas were really fun.
Another great one Danielle, I love Paperwhites. I inherited my mom's place 16 yrs again and hers are still coming up in the garden, I bet their at least 30 yrs old now. I guess they're probably the stinky variety, but I like the scent, I don't find them offensive at all, not like Boxwood. Always really love the vessels you choose to plant in.
Great info about paperwhites! Had no idea that different types vary in fragrance. I am trying some now that were gifted to me, but don’t know which variety I have. I almost didn’t plant them because I didn’t like the scent when I tried them many years ago. I found it to be overwhelmingly strong. I do think they’re pretty and they were a gift so I had to try again!
This is a very informative video, thank you! I was looking for a video to explain why my paperwhites were flopping over and how to remedy that. I learned more from watching this than some other videos. Great work!
I found a huge glass hurricane shade at an antique shop and growing potentially lanky flowers in it would be the perfect use! I’ve failed with these in the past but I’m ready to try again! Thanks for your always thorough tips 😉
I'm experimenting with peroxide on seeds and seedlings. So far the seedlings seem stronger. I notoriously battle fungus flies, but I have none at the 3 week mark! I am thrilled!
I just found you! I really appreciate your videos. Your love and passion for flowers and how to get the most out of them is so clear and reasonable, and shows me that you have some expertise in growing and in what not to do as well as what to do, and why! Thank you for your teaching heart ❤ and have a blessed holiday season!
Danielle, you look radiant today. Thank you for the information and please give us a closer look at your Christmas decorating and trees. Have a blessed Christmas everyone!
Absolutely got educated from this! Thank you, thank you! Wonderful, wonderful ideas! I have never grown paperwhites and I am this year, I will be growing these all the time now. Next, to be brave enough for the Amaryllis bulb.
Such helpful tips. I put my paperwhites in a cooler closet as soon as I watched this. They were rooting unevenly. Also glad to know about the different kinds of bulbs to help with the odor!
You are such a wonderful teacher learned so much you have inspired me to do this I have bulbs in my shed and now ready to put together and gift some great ideas thanks so much I so needed to watch this today because I’m stumped as to doing a creative gift idea you so helped!!! Thanks so much!👍👏🎄❤️
Great video and thank you for sharing! When you plant the paperwhites in the canning jar with the lid. Do you place in a dark area for the 10-12 days with the lid on?
What a great video. I’m just learning about growing paper whites and your explanations were very good, easy to follow, solid information and lots of inspiration. I have some questions 🙋🏻♀️ 1. Can I save the bulbs and reuse them like with amaryllis? 2. How do I care for the bulb after they are done blooming? 3 When/how do I know they are done blooming? Thank you for such great content.
Thank you! I was able to grow paper whites from 3 bulbs I was given.....I do have a question however. What do I do with the plant once it blooms? Can I just trim the flowers and leave green? Will they bloom again? Just not sure what the next step is? Thank you, Kim Cooper
Great video’. I’ve been forcing paperwhites forever and have always had wonderful luck--which is good since I positively ADORE the fragrance. I put bouquets and plantings everywhere in the house. Now I want to try the new varieties but must make sure not to buy the one with no scent - I think it’s the Inbal? I’ve also grown Erlicheer and that one is my favorite. Thanks again!
I always learn from you. Thanks and my tree will be full of these. How long after 7-10 day darkness till bloom? I want to always have some blooming too.
Help! What do I do with the bulbs once they stop blooming? What do I do to save them for next year? This is my first year having them. Lovely over Christmas. Would like to reuse them next holiday season.
When the paper white bulbs are sitting in the dark for a week or more, do you just leave them there without watering? Please advise! Thank you very much! And thank you for all your videos! 🙏
I love watching your videos! You explain everything so well. I have a question on whether you have a flower gift idea that is similar to this video for around Easter or Mother's day? I'm smitten with the idea to use dishes that have many more uses than just growing bulbs.
Hi Lora! I think forced hyacinths would make a great Easter or Mother's Day Gift! I have forced them in the same casserole dish I showed in this video - th-cam.com/video/jXanCaI0Iw0/w-d-xo.html
I love your idea to put the white crushed stone in a jar as a gift! BUT I can't find the stone, do you remember where you got your stone? I always enjoy your videos thanks for all your hard work!
I have the Ziva paper whites that I'm growing in pebbles and water but the flower never opened and it looks like it wants to dry up....what have I done wrong?
the Season has passed and my amaryllis and paper whites have bloomed and I am left with the long green stems and roots (but no flowerw) Please tell me the net step from here
Where do you purchase your paper whites? Is the variety that is less smelly spelled Enball? I love the smell but my husband thinks they smell like urine. Very informative talk!
Hi there! I got mine from Longfield gardens, but sadly I see they are sold out! The spelling is Inbal. My apologies, I should have put that on the screen. The other is Nir.
Yeah, I thought people were being overly dramatic about the smell until I started growing some this year. The smell is just awful. I can't handle it lol. To me it has a sickly sweet smell reminiscent of the smell from elementary school when a kid would vomit and they'd pour this scented cat litter like stuff on it.
My mother not being a big drinker, watered a Christmas cactus when no one was looking! What was really comical it bloomed and bloomed a couple weeks later! Laughing about it she told me a little diluted whiskey was good for her cactus too!
The only thing I'm missing from the videos is a kind of quick guide to possible diseases. I know it's strange, but I like to not throw out plants if I find that later they could have been cured. I want the knowledge of how to heal my plants as much as they heal me. (For amaryllis as well)
Your display looks wonderful but to me the smell is awful. Thank you for explaining which ones I could try that don't stink. I was expecting a nice sweet narcissus smell; big shock.😊
I really like your teaching style; clear and concise, but very detailed. Thanks for all the growing tips and design ideas. One of my favorite bulb videos this year.
.
I have been watching your vids for years and this is one of your best videos I think you have make yet! I love growing flowers. LP

Oh dear, so I’m doing everything wrong! No wonder my paper whites look so puny! So glad I saw this! Yours are lovely! 😃🌿🌿🌿

I know this was two years ago but so timely for me right now as I am potting my paperwhites.

Hi,
Thank you 🙏🏾 for a very informative video! Gifting my neighbors paper whites to ring in the new year! 🎉
Great information!
Danielle my name is Cecilia and I love your TH-cam channels and all your tips.
I love your ideas, they are so great and I like how you reuse everything and don't always need to buy new stuff. 😊Thank you and Greetings, Judit
Hi...happy new year.....I have been following you, to understand how to grow paper whites ....
I got them for Christmas 2022
Very beautiful 🌷🌷👌👌
A video full of great ideas and information!
I love all the information you share ! I will go looking for paper whites with less fragrance!
Thanks for sharing...so pretty on the tree 😁
Thank you 🤩🧤👒🐨🦘🇦🇺Karen from Australia
Great video and thank you for sharing! When you plant the paperwhites in the canning jar with the lid. Do you place in a dark area for the 10-12 days with the lid on?
Such a wealth of information. Thank you so much!
Very helpful
Thank you
Beautiful tree!
Extremely helpful! Thank you 😊
What a great video. I’m just learning about growing paper whites and your explanations were very good, easy to follow, solid information and lots of inspiration. I have some questions 🙋🏻♀️

So beautiful, I love your decorations throughout your home. ♥️
What size water tubes do you use?

So interesting! Thank you for the great ideas and information.
Gorgeous! Fantastic inspiration. Thank you so much.
Lambs ear ornaments? I’m intrigued! Do you have a video on making one?
Hi
Does paper white can plant in the grown out side. Like tulip 🌷??
I waiting to hear from you. Thanks alot.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, you have some great ideas.
How far in advance should I plant these in time to gift to friends with the leaves growing?
What do you do with the bulb when they have finished blooming? Do you dry them out and start over the next season?
This was so helpful and informative! Thank you!
Love how informative your videos are! Where did you get your bulbs?
Really fantastic information and presentation 👍👍 Thank you!
Beautiful 🎄
I always learn from you. Thanks and my tree will be full of these. How long after 7-10 day darkness till bloom? I want to always have some blooming too.
Hi Carol! About 4-6 weeks!
Danielle, do you pre-chill your bulbs before doing them in water?
Help! What do I do with the bulbs once they stop blooming? What do I do to save them for next year? This is my first year having them. Lovely over Christmas. Would like to reuse them next holiday season.
So when they are done flowering go you let them grow and then store them or are they spent?
When the paper white bulbs are sitting in the dark for a week or more, do you just leave them there without watering? Please advise! Thank you very much! And thank you for all your videos! 🙏
Hi Qing! I do check on them during the 1-2 weeks in darkness and water if needed to keep the soil slightly moist.
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens Thanks again! Love to watch all your videos. Happy holidays!
@@qingaltaffer8432 my pleasure! Thanks so much for watching! Happy holidays!

Hi Lora! I think forced hyacinths would make a great Easter or Mother's Day Gift! I have forced them in the same casserole dish I showed in this video - th-cam.com/video/jXanCaI0Iw0/w-d-xo.html
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens OK, thanks for the suggestion. I'll be giving that try!
Perhaps Thalia could be forced. They are small white narcissis, quite lovely.
I love your idea to put the white crushed stone in a jar as a gift! BUT I can't find the stone, do you remember where you got your stone? I always enjoy your videos thanks for all your hard work!
I don't really know the answer, but if I were looking for the crushed white stone, I would definitely check Michael's.
How long do the flowers last? If you cut them or leave them growing.
About 5 -7 days both cut and on the plant.
I have the Ziva paper whites that I'm growing in pebbles and water but the flower never opened and it looks like it wants to dry up....what have I done wrong?
I have paper whites in the ground, that come up every spring. I live in zone 6.
Hi, nice video, I am from Guwahati Assam 😊
the Season has passed and my amaryllis and paper whites have bloomed and I am left with the long green stems and roots (but no flowerw) Please tell me the net step from here
What was the Christmas ornament that you showed - it sounded like Lamb's Ear?? I'd like to make one if they last that good year after year!!
She did a video tutorial last year.
How did it go with the gras? Didn't your cats try to eat that?
Are these the same as ‘twin sisters’ narcissus?
How and where should I keep my paperwhite bulbs before forcing them?
Yeah, I thought people were being overly dramatic about the smell until I started growing some this year. The smell is just awful. I can't handle it lol. To me it has a sickly sweet smell reminiscent of the smell from elementary school when a kid would vomit and they'd pour this scented cat litter like stuff on it.

Do all paper whites smell dreadful?
Successful pebble alternative: seashells!!
Where do you purchase your inbal paperwhite bulbs?
Hi Carol! I get mine from Longfield Gardens.
The only thing I'm missing from the videos is a kind of quick guide to possible diseases.
I know it's strange, but I like to not throw out plants if I find that later they could have been cured. I want the knowledge of how to heal my plants as much as they heal me.
(For amaryllis as well)
Could you give me the Latin name so I could go here in Switzerland and buy them
Narcissus Papyraceus
Where can i purchase Enball??? Is that correct spelling?
Hi friend! Inbal is the spelling.
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens thanks
Your display looks wonderful but to me the smell is awful. Thank you for explaining which ones I could try that don't stink. I was expecting a nice sweet narcissus smell; big shock.😊
Where is the best source for bulbs to force?
Hi Dolly! I get all my bulbs from longfield gardens.
My kids
They grow so easily and everyone around me thinks they are the stinkiest flower I have in my garden.
You like paparwhite yourself 😁
I like the beauty of paperwhites but not the smell.😷
Paper whites flowers are smelly
