I mean, even in the bottom end most PC monitors are more than 24". Hell, my $200 el cheapo Sceptre ultrawide can still fit a 26" widescreen image. 24" for a monitor is pretty pathetic regardless of display quality, especially for a machine nearing the $2k mark (which takes no small quantity of the piss).
Funnily enough, the iMacs I see in offices here in southern NZ are all 27" models.
I'm highly disappointed DBrand didn't just cover it in a huge wide face Linus meme skin.

its a feature I missed so much when my 2011 macbook pro broke, so I actually paid 10 bucks for a program on steam that does one single thing, make the mouse wiggle enlarge the cursor 😂

@@texasmama3084 not really. It's basically an oversized iPad without touch support. This thing doesn't have the power to be a desktop, it's just a monitor with mobile chip internals.
Apple's ecosystem is getting interesting. Now people have to choose whether to buy the big iPad, iPad with a keyboard, iPad with a fan, the iPad with a touch screen, or the iPad without a screen.
There's also iPad mini with a touch screen, iPad but a big phone, iPad but a phone and iPad but a small phone. Their creativity is outstanding

Kinda agree though, I just want to play games. I don't want to worry about hardware. I mean I guess prebuilts exist, but some prebuilts are just plain bad. Would be cool if like microsoft offered prebuilt computers that have been tailored for gaming.

There are a few aspects of the design[language] of the 24-inch iMac that are perfect for its targeted audience. It comes in colors to match your decor, and the white bezel won't clash with the white wall you are facing while you use it. The chin allows each family member to adjust the angle of the display without leaving fingerprints on the screen. It has just enough power for homework and other household uses, and its price[point] is just right. A very good design!

Sure that sacrifices the nigh impossible form factor, relatively excellent sound system (let's be honest anyone who cares about sound will have a headphone plugged in) power efficiency and noise (not that much though)
Honestly, the above said pc will be easier to repair, upgrade and generally last much longer and you can go with linux or windows

I honestly think theres a future for the ethernet in the power brick thing, I don't think i've used any device with ethernet unless it was plugged into power so it kinda just makes sense
That’d be a clever product to make. A mini-dock that’s just a USB-C PD adapter but it has a USB 3 and Ethernet built in.
It's a new/old idea. I think Chromecasts had a power brick ethernet before and Surface laptops had power brick USB. Definitely useful but I suspect the BOM goes up quite significantly.
It was a much more popular idea when the stick PCs were all the rage a few years ago when Intel released the Compute Stick. Since the stick itself couldn't really accommodate much in the way of IO, things were being put in the power brick instead. Ethernet, USB, etc.
But why tho
This is just about the most absurd idea. Why not just make the thing PoE at that point? It's a giant iPad, I can't imagine it's going to draw much juice.

Note, every accessory on mid and high tier models can be added to base configuration, including a Touch ID keyboard. Only thing that can’t is a 2TB SSD.

I recently started using the 2004 cinema display that my dad got for free from somewhere. I was blown away by it's quality in both build and screen.
The screen looks very realistic, almost like you're looking out a window.
The build quality is impeccable too. No rattly plastics and little to no bending at all!

The "shake for giant cursor" thing would be pretty great in Windows for multi monitor setups at work using monitors that aren't super high end. The "hit ctrl for cursor locating" feature is alright but I kinda like this idea too.
For real. I used to think it was kind of stupid feature but I've lost my cursor so many times on Windows when I've got 3 monitors.
You can use an inverse colored cursor in Windows. I've been using it for a few years now and I think it helps.
as someone who has multi monitor setup myself, I don't know about that "hit ctrl" feature. Could you please tell a bit more on what's that and how to use it?
@@twinsen_rus if you hit the control key on your keyboard, a circle appears around the cursor to help locate it (you might have to enable it in the mouse pointer options)

There is a separate option for VESA without an stand. So as I understand, you cannot put that one with stand on an Monitor-Arm but need to buy the VESA-Version if you plan to do that.
can you actually test how the speakers sound on the iMac almost no one has reviewed it. there are two giant metal chambers just for the speakers and i want to see/ hear if it give a fuller sound or what an equivalent speaker

I work in IT and I was wheeling one of these to an office in another building. When I was exiting the first building, there was a dip and the front wheels of the cart dropped down and the iMac started quickly rolling forward. My heart fucking dropped and I managed to catch it. I cannot imagine how I’d feel if it rolled all the way off and hit the ground

The base model is for schools and libraries. Where Touch ID doesn’t make sense with the amount of users a single device has. Therefore it is totally fine to have a non-TID option.

I had a wireless mouse (w/ integrated battery) and having to plug the charging cable in annoyed the hell of me, even though it was still usable.
I mean, you don't buy a wireless mouse, just to use it on a cable while it's charging, right?
But needing a backup mouse or having to take a break that's longer than it would take to swap a battery that's even worse, that's a failed design, imo! 😂😂😂

Touch ID on the back of the iPhone needs to be a thing. I had the Pixel 2 with the sensor on the back and it was perfect for one handed use. I could pull it out of my pocket and unlock it as I was bringing it up to look at.
The "skin" is fugly, and this video fails to be more than an extended advertisement for it.

My main monitor is 27", previously upgraded from 24". Honestly I think these two sizes are the best in size to desk space utilization. Going up to 32" and above just seems excessive for a literal desktop display.

@Filip Jovanovic yes, ultrawides commonly are 21:9 (mostly 1440px in height). I don't like 4K 28" for productivity since in a 2x2 grid 4x14" 1080p monitors are just too small for me to work with and in a 2x1 the windows are very narrow. with ultrawide I really like that I can have two ~square windows (1720x1440) besides each other or 3 narrow ones.
I can also recommend curved ultrawide, I don't have too move my head around much.
I agreed with this, until I went with a 34 inch ultra wide.
Going back to literally anything else is difficult. Being in school, I couldn’t tell you the last time I didn’t have 2 applications running and being able to have word, and a browser open, or an IDE and a browser open is amazing.
Lightning can do USB 3 speeds . The camera adapter is USB 3 and the iPad Pro 10.5 inch is USB 3 on the lightning connector

Ok I have an idea, in the first half of the video, show us the slick shots of the product without the skin and the other half with the skin so you can still get the sponsorship.
It is sent to them from dbrand. Dbrand buys the Apple products, applies the skin, then sends it to LMG. So they don't ever have it without the skin. You can see tons of pics of it without the skin online. So that's really not necessary. Just picture it liking like every other iMac that's been made in the past 20 years. It's silver metal. And since they have 6 other colors, showing the silver one is kind of pointless.

To me Magsafe is weird on iMac, Magsafe on MacBook/IPhone make sense since it has a battery, iMac doesn't? If u trip and yank it off, it will turn off? Rip documents, maybe auto save feature? And also the magnet is so strong that I think a normal DC port would be weaker that it will come off easier than the iMac? I'm confused...

Also to note, they offer a VESA version as well. Which, I think, when paired with wireless peripherals, is a great option for reception desks or offices with a customer facing situation.
Especially with the Ethernet already in the adapter, that’s one cable to worry about and when the peripherals eventually need to be charged there’s always an iPhone charger around somewhere
@@Frog-ko6uu Yeah the charging thing is so overblown. You can literally just plug it in for like 10 seconds and have enough charge to last until your lunch break, then just plug it in when you leave your desk. It ain't hard. I used a MM for years without it ever interrupting my work.
You can get the stand replaced with a VESA mount, or vice versa after the fact as well through AppleCare and a small fee. In the iFixit teardown you can see the big row of screws holding the stand in.
So much subtle shade in this video you need to rewatch to fully catch it.

But in 6 months of owning the M1 Mcbook Air, I’ve charged the mouse once…
And I use it a LOT! I study design, so it’s basically on me all day 🤷🏻♀️
