I've had my DT Sierra 316l for a year now and I love it. It was my 2nd AR and it has never given me an issue. I did upgrade a few things, like the bcg just so I can have some extra parts. Optics planet has a great spare parts kit. I have added a decent lpvo with offset red dot and it's on target. I'll take it from 0 yrds to 350 yrds without any issues. It now costs more than the $499, i think they are going for around $700 now, and its worth every penny. I would say it feels like more of a mid tier rifle. Also, I think it shoots better with the 62 or 67 grain ammo. I would like to know if you still have yours and how you like it now ? Great video, thank you
Hey great to hear! And wow on the current price, but everything has gone up significantly. I never sell guns so I do still have it. She gets some periodic use now as I favor some other rifles/pistols that I have fully built up to be absolute machines. But the Delton is still fun to shoot because I kept it simple and it’s super light. Still going strong
Del ton ar-15’s are considered VERY underrated. This vid is 2 years old, so I paid 640 for the sierra 316l in 2023.
They honestly are very nice guns for their price. I do t use mine that much as I have others but it’s a fantastic backup or loaner

Damn Delton is ok, when you could buy them for $400, but if I'm spending $650-$750, I'm buying a Primary Weapon Systems MK116 Pro upper for $599, and a PSA lower for $150. PWS makes the most reliable & accurate Piston AR-15 on the planet.
Del-ton makes one hell of a gun. The way I look at guns is much like the Emperor's New Clothes. Truth is, you will be hard pressed to beat a Del-ton, regardless of price of "a nicer gun"
I really like my delton. But my more expensive guns are definitely nicer. But I don’t think they cheated on reliability. It has not failed me yet

You can run 223 in a rifle stamped 5.56
But you cannot run 5.56 in a rifle stamped 223.
Not sure I would call this low end, but whatever. I've put hundreds rounds through mine with no issues.
Got mine few months ago. Its not my first AR but I could not pass it up at $499. I have been training lots with it. Even rocked it for a tactical rifle class. The instructor was impressed. Got a few vids up on my channel. Good review, man! 🇺🇸

I absolutely love my Sierra316L and my Mod sport2. I've always had guns but never a modern sport rifle. Another reason is they are made in Elizabethtown North Carolina which is 30 minutes from me so I'm supporting local businesses. But yes with the way criminals are being released after committing violent crimes for no reason I decided to get a few for more punch over my .45 1911 for home defense. The RomeoJuliette3 red dot sight with a move over magnifier, the red dot has 10 daytime settings and 2 nighttime settings

Honesty here!!! Reality I own 10.5 DD complete build lantac bcg with a aimpoint T2 and a Geissele 14.5 all Geissele build with eotech. Finally a Del ton 11.5 carbine chrome lined barrel lantac bcg and spike lower with Geissele trigger and AEMS optic. I beat the shit out of my guns. I work them hard and my Del ton hands down is my favorite. That rifle is reliable and strong like the others.
Yes shoots surprisingly well. Not top tier but not the bottom

What is the difference between the Sierra vs Echo 316L?
I’m not quite sure. I believe it is the rail system is different.

I am looking to get my first 'budget' AR. I know prices are a little inflated now but looking at this as well as the M&P 15Sport II. It seems like both of those are the higher tier in the budget range for home defense. I like that this comes stock with a mlock rail. Great review. Like i said i am looking into possibly this or the M&P 15 Sport II. if you were to go one 'grade' higher what would you look at?
I would have to say the next level up would be Springfield armory, brownells, SOLGW, cmmg.
I got that one as my first AR and love it, started to add upgrades for looks and comfort

Good video. I'm new to ARs and just got my first one last month. Not even had a chance to try it out yet. Your rifle surprisingly looks a lot like mine with the butt stock and grip colors, and scope. But mine is an Anderson. You have a nice charging handle too. Mine appears stuck.

How do you like the upper compared to others, and is the barrel chrome lined?
No the steel is treated with Chrome Moly Vanadium but it is not chrome lined. But the upper seems good so far. It has held up well

Been considering a Del Ton or IWI Zion 15 for the first AR.
I have the 316l and mine came with some different options already installed. I think it might have been a personal order that fell through and got added to the existing inventory.

@@KanatiOutdoors love it. Mine is keymod unfortunately but it does have a chrome lined barrel and it’s a 1/8 twist.

I have had a couple of Midwest ind tails. They are pricey and did not line up well for backup sights. The rails DelTon are using are less expensive and do not have that issue. But if it's Midwest ind you want and don't care about sights then they it.
@@jeffkasal330 I just put a MI rail on my aero build. It fits and works great. You may have gotten an out of spec piece
@@KanatiOutdoors no doubt I did. But when they are that expensive I should not get two out of spec rails. I'll stick with the less expensive DTI rails that work and not worry about it
I got mine for $645 really enjoy using the gun.
What length gas system does it have?
i believe it is a mid length system. But it could be Carbine. I can check when i get home from work!

Tiers? Vastly different? That’s😅 nonsense, unless it’s a build from a handful of manufacturers serving the market for match conditioned guns for US Service Rifle Competition. The reality is there’s a perception of quality for what is merely a divergence from mil spec, which may or may not make a model trustworthy. The bottom-line for a faithful mil spec product is FN period. Most others are like peas in a pod, they taste the same and only their marketing sets them apart.
That is completely incorrect. There are definitely tiers. But if you chose to not believe that, that’s ok too. LMT and KAC

@@KanatiOutdoors The magpul mlok type 2 rail panels look different than the "grip panels" you have on the AR you are reviewing. The panels you have are not as wide top to bottom as the Magpul Mlok type 2 rail panels. Those look more like the Mlok rail cover type 1.

Sorry, all these sub-$550 AR-15 rifles that get reviewed on TH-cam... I've NEVER seen them less than $749 anywhere. Would love for reviewers to post the link where they've found them for these rock-bottom prices they claim.
You need to know where to look. This is also over 2 year old gun. Prices have definitely increased

I hear these guns aren't accurate
It's acceptable not a precision riffle but for every day Joe's its a steal. Remember 80% of the time it's shooter error maybe jerking the trigger, exhaling to fast etc. I have this exact same one same set up and I get 1" groups at 300 yard's.
Like they said below I agree. It seems around 300-400 yards it starts to loosen up however still impressive for the price!
Its a lightweight barrel. If you want more accuracy you will need to buy a heavier barrel. DelTon spends the money on high quality barrel blanks so their overall accuracy will usually be better than the competition. Watch more TH-cam accuracy tests and listen to less internet experts and you will see.
I agree, I’m concerned about the right wing terrorists that stormed the capital. I’m concerned about the blue lives matter crowd that pretends to support police, then turns around and bashed in an officer’s head with a fire extinguisher and killed him.

This is a nice entry level AR platform, it’s fun and easy to shoot like all AR’s. Very nice for the price.
I’ve ran about 2,500 rounds through this rifle. I’ve shot it with LPVO scope, also have shot with flip up sights co-witnessed with a red dot, both very nice to shoot with... puts nice groupings together. Obviously there are better complete builds on the market for more. But for the price this is a very nice rifle.
