Worth every penny. Been carrying them for the last year and it is so easy to always have in a pocket. I don't have the ETQ sleeve which means that it can mess up some hiking pants pockets or get stuck in them, but placing it in a medical glove easily fixes this.

I did a rifle course taught by John as a gift from my brother without knowing anything about the guy. I’ve been through so many courses taught privately, local LEO, and at the federal level and I was shocked to learn his background after because of the utter lack of EGO. He was just the coolest down to earth guy and never even mentioned he was frigging Delta. Awesome dude, even better teacher.

@stevenwalker7478 yup. I did a Singleton CQB course with Kyle Lamb, Craig "Chili" Palmer, and Kevin Holland. Extremely humble, down to earth, guys. If I wasn't privy to who they were prior to the class, I would've never know they were former Delta guys, let along SOF guys.

Retired detective here with more critical. Incident investigations than I can remember. I recommend your 911 call be simple such as I had an intruder and need law enforcement and medical help. The reason for requesting medical help is that you don’t want anyone to be in a position of accusing you of withholding life-saving information. My initial statement would be very simple. “Someone broke into my house and I was afraid for my life” I would tell the investigator that I am securing an attorney before making any other statements. Your home will likely be held for a search warrant which means everyone will need to exit the home. Also, the weapon(s) you had to use should be seized until the investigation is complete. Lastly, the police do not “clear“ you that is done by the district attorney or county attorney. Each state/jurisdiction may handle some things differently, but this is what I would expect from my past experience as a detective, as well as my knowledge of my local judicial system. One more one last thing… No matter how much of a bad ass you are… “I was in fear for my life….” “I was scared…”

All advice given is sound. I say this as a long serving officer with a lot of relevant experience.
Biggest advice I give to people involving this subject matter is “Remove your ego from the equation.”
Ego will make you take foolish actions. Pride results in foolish actions. No TV, car, or cold chicken in the fridge is worth your life. Barricade up, protect family, get response moving to you. If actors take assertive actions to your strong point. Weapons free. Warnings are a courtesy, not a requirement.
He is also correct with speaking with the police. You can’t make a good shoot bad or vice versa but sometimes words spoken by victim can complicate an investigation. Give a general “brief” ie “subject entered my home, doesn’t belong there and came at me aggressively. I fired to defend myself. Think I fired X amount of rounds.” Then lawyer up. Get yourself composed before making any other statements.

One comment on the MAST Suit.
I’m a vet but I’m also a retired career fire paramedic of 35 years.
About 30 years ago, yes that long ago, they took away our MAST Suits.
They determined that although it did exactly what it was designed and supposed to do by keeping blood in the torso, it accelerated bleeding out.
By definition, shock is a lack of blood perfusion to the brain and vital organs, and in trauma by GSW, it’s hypovolemic shock.
The MAST Suit treated shock as designed, but it was very short term and accelerated hypovolemia.
Tourniquets and volume replacement with large bore high flow IV was the field treatment with rapid transport.
I only had maybe a dozen GSW patients during my years, but in CE training we learned that most GSW bleeding out was from leg wounds and your combat tourniquet was the best piece of trauma gear you could have. Quick clotting combat gauze to pack a wound with also. Direct pressure still is your main go to BLS technique.
