My male is so smart and he’s learned a schedule! Every night when I start getting ready for bed, he will climb up to a set corner of his enclosure. I will then get him out and handle him for a few minutes, then he goes back in and gets his food! He’s probably one of my favorite pets and he’s so sweet!

I used to have a male mouse when I was 4-6 years old, and yeah my mum mostly looked after him, but I just remember him being INCREDIBLY cuddly. Like, it was insane! He was more like a rat than a mouse, he would just come out of his cage and curl up in my hand, groom my fingers, boop his little snoot in my ears etc! I know that's an anomaly obviously, but honestly I loved that mouse so much and it was a lovely first (and probably last because I do prefer that personality and rats are overall a better pet for me) experience with mice!! I miss my little Charlie a lot, fly high cuddly boy, hope there are so many warm hands and 'nana chips in heaven
This is my mice story! :D When I was like 11-12 years old I REALLY wanted mice... like SO BAD that I did more research than anyone should EVER do and I made a notebook (mice wiki) and what do you know... a day before xmas my parents get home....... and they have brought 2 little mice!! ........... it turned out they were ...... A BOY AND A GIRL....... I named them Martha and Minhauzens and I loved them. Even the people working at the pet shop didn’t know their gender so it was a big surprise. Because I wasn’t expecting different gender mice, I didn’t have another ANYTHING at that moment so they HAD to stay in the same glass tank for at least a week. It was a very big mistake because Martha soon after got pregnant (she looked like a pear😂) we soon after seperated the two. One night I heard Martha squealing SOOO loud so I rushed up to the cage and she was giving birth so I just sat next to the cage for like 45 minutes. There were 12 babies born. I helped Martha raise them and it was awesome. My mom OBVIOUSLY was SHOCKED and she didnt let me keep all of them because of space issues so I gave away 8 of the babies and I was left with 6 mice in total (2 adults, 4 babies) when they got a bit older we had to seperate them by gender ofc and when they are young, they have that “popcorn” phase so one of our little boys (remember him) jumped out of my container and ran away through a hole in my wall under the floor. I was worried so I left him food and water on the floor and fortunately every morning I saw that he had eaten some of the food. Like a week after, my dad somehow made a harmless mouse trap and I got my baby back. All of my 6 mice lived a happy life and all 3 of my girls passed away because of a tumour and all the boys died because of age ;( but the little traveler who escaped lived the longest!

I have 7 girlies, housed in an all naturally decorated double ikea detolf and they are too fun to watch. If you’re looking for a pet that is adorable, super fun to watch and full of personality but that you don’t have to take out on walks or clean a litter box definitely a mouse is for you.
Watching this after my second boy passed away today. Nearly made it to 2 years. It really does suck that they dont live long :( all of your pets are adorable 😍😍😍
Just want to personally thank you for all the helpful information you provide with your channel. I own 5 girls and also have a Detolf, and your videos have been so educational for a first time mouse owner like myself! I knew I wanted mice but didn’t know where to start, and your channel was a lifesaver, for me and my girls :) thank you, Em!
Your videos are sooooo good. Very informative. I really had no much idea when I got my female mice of how to take care of them. But ur videos make it so much easy. Keep it going! Thanks!
Having rats and mice growing up, I've been thinking about adopting some new friends. Your videos have been incredibly insightful, and educational, making me think about the mistakes I made as a kid. I can't believe I had two rats in a ten gallon glass aquarium! While I can't provide a proper nest for some rodent buddies at the moment, I've been living vicariously through your videos. Also I think you're adorable~
Getting mice is one of the best decisions I've made tbh and it's a lot thanks to you and the fact that I stumbled across your channel. I currently have two but I'm planing on getting at least one more so that no one gets left alone if something were to happen (or at least the risk gets smaller). They live in an Ikea detolf and soon I'm getting some apple tree branches from my mom that I'm going to put in their enclosure (my mom has several apple trees so I know they haven't been sprayed with pesticides or such). I really hope they'll like it and find them fun to climb and explore. I also make tiny hanging hides for them which they also seem to appreciate a lot. I also came to think of their different personalities, they're from the same breeder and one of them, named Shade, is really friendly and social. As soon as I come to the cage she comes up to the glass and wants me to pick her up and she loves being with me, climbing around inside my shirts, and she's even hard to convince to go back into the cage. The other one, named Skaði, is a lot more shy and runs and hides when I come. She does come out after a little while and starts walking up on my hand and such, but she's not as fond of being around- and on me for prolonged periods of time. They're both my babies though and I love them.
I have a single male mouse and I handle him everyday. He is the sweetest little boy and I’m so blessed with a cuddly mommas boy mouse. Mice are such underrated pets
I loved making mazes and new places for my mice to explore. One in particular, Molly, LOVED them. She would also climb in my clothes and hair, it was really cute. She was a VERY curious little mouse, always looking for new places to explore! Her sisters would just take turns on the wheel mostly lol 😂
I just got my two girls the other day and I'm so excited to try and start bonding with them soon- its so difficult to not go watch them all the time but I'm doing good and giving them space to get comfortable x'D I want my babies to love their new home! I just recently named them too! Marshmallow (a PEW) and Caramel! (A Marked Fawn i believe)
I love my male mouse. He is the sweetest little guy. I got lucky that he loves face scratches and climbs in my hand. He seemed lonely so I got him two ASF females. They all get along great.
My mouse jumps my hand the second I go into change his food. He likes being held and exploring, though I am the only person who’s ever held him. I’m not exactly sure how he would do if someone else held him. He’s currently 20 days old and lives in a 40 gallon tank (biggest I could get my hands on)
I was initially going to buy rats but I currently have two male mice that I unfortunately got out of spite. I do love them and care for them (planning on getting them a bigger cage aswell because their currently is only big enough to provide basics) but my family depises their smell though I'm unbothered by it. I had them in my room till I was told to be them in another room with our family cat and dog and I feel uncomfortable with that so I'll hopefully get another bigger cage as soon as possible so I can put them somewhere else
Late to the party, but my girlfriend suggested that maybe I should look into owning mice after, without fail, I've been having dreams about owning mice near-weekly for about a year. I've made sure to do extensive research, usually cross referencing multiple videos and articles to make sure the info is 100% correct; and while I don't consider myself financially secure enough for mice YET, I do believe with about another month of saving up I'll be ready to take this first step! Your videos especially have been very helpful and informative, and I would really love to build my own enclosure after viewing some of the enclosures shown on your channel. If anyone is somehow reading this despite how late I am, could you give me advice on homebrew diets? I've heard a lot of store brand rodent food can actually be harmful, so I'm wondering if building my own diet would make my mice happier and healthier. I also live in a colder area and know drafts can possibly be a death sentence for mice, so I want to take extra measures to keep them warm. Could a heating pad be safe for them?
Oh wow Orbit looks identical to my pet leopard gecko Goose!!! Exactly the same and I wouldn't be able to tell them apart! I didn't know you had a gecko before but I've been watching all your mouse videos because I'm going to get a mouse soon and I want him to be happy :3
My mice have taken up such a huge piece in my heart, I love seeing their little teeny faces everyday. I don't think I could ever live without having them 🥰💕 the only downside is their short lives, if you're going to own them be prepared for the heartache! Also I have a neutered male and although he does smell 10x more than his sister I cant really smell him unless I get too close to his pee or dont spot clean. He looks exactly like pearl but he is a manx ☺️
I love my mice and ASF. My only negative is that their life expectency is so short. I have 3 males (all in seperate enclosures) and they're really sweet too... I do have a lot of work because of their marking smell. But I have litter under their bedding and I change their enclosures quite often.
This is a very nice video :D I personally never owned mice and sadly wont be able to in the future but ive had rats, gerbils and other rodents etc. in the past. One thing that you could have mentioned are missalligned teeth as a health risk. I dont know how common this actually is but ive seen how fast it can hurt an animal. It can just take maybe 24-48h until the mice might not be able to eat properly anymore and you usually have to cut the teeth and continue monitoring for the rest of their lifes. I got a little sad when you said that some people treat them as "just" lab animals etc because i actually am an laboratory animal technician from germany and i work with mice on a daily basis and we treat our animals with respect. I have one story that i usually tell peple that are angry at my job choice: When i was in my frist year of training i was working in our breeding facility. I spotted a female that had trouble giving birth. She was a normal black six(inbred strain of lab mice) that was paired to a cd1 male(outbred strain) so the offspring was not something "special" genetically they could have been "reproduced". She has had 2 pups already but she was suffering so we had to humanely euthanize her and we also had to take the other babies out right away. Now most people assume that we would euthanize the pups and "move on" with our day. But the 2 giant metalheads i was working with that day picked up the tiny lifeless pups and showed me how to stimulate them to breathe and just seeing 2 men with a tiny pink jellybean like baby in their hand begging them to breathe and and almost jumping for joy when the pups finaly did, showed me how important my job actually is. In my training they taught us that we are the animals direct connection to the authorities and its our resposibility to make sure that we protect our animals from all possible harm. I believe at least here in germany we treat our lab animals better than most pet stores and private owners even though they have smaller cages.(From what ive seen)
We have a mouse at my place and I bought a trap that will only trap him in a tunnel and not kill him. I was actually thinking about getting some glass box and make a house for him but I don't know if it's a good idea to do it with mice that come from outside. I live in The Hague, a city that has some nature around so maybe he just came from the forest nearby or something
I got my mice 2 weeks ago, she didn't bonded perfeclty till now, but its completelly normal, i am giving her time, and oh my god. She is the sweetest girl ever if you are thinking about getting one, GO FOR IT IT'S ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT♥️♥️♥️
I have three male mice that were former laboratory mice. Two of them are biological brothers and get along together. I can let them out so they can run around the apartment for a few hours and eventually they always return to me or come to me for snuggles and massages in-between

I have been exploring potential rodents as pets. Mice seem very interesting. But I am glad the maintenance is fairly simple and straightforward. I have an unused 30 gallon long; how many female mice would fit in it?
Can you help me? I got three rats from my friend last Saturday 1st February. She got them from a pet shop but her mum was allergic so they only had them two weeks. I gave them the week to settle in apart from I cleaned them a bit and gave them food from my hand but they are so skittish all they do is hide they have a hammock to sleep in but they never come out of it. I wanted to take them out in a playpen or something but they don't trust me enough to come. How do I tame them. Any tips?💞
I don’t know if the situation has changed at all but other youtubers such as shadow the rat and the rat guru have videos that cover that. From what Ive seen, it takes a lot of patience, perseverance, and treats!
I saved four feeder mice! I gave them a 50 Gallon long tank and although one was really aggressive I tricked her into my hand and force groomed her until she finally quit biting me lol a few dozen bloody bites later, some back massages and cheek rubs later with a blueberry and she's a whole new mouse! Although it's rare, some female mice have a very dominant and aggressive personalities. I reccomend gently letting them in your hand and when it bites again give them a firm but safe grip and let them know in a dominant but not scary voice that it's hurting you. Then proceed to give love and treats. It helps establish a dominance boundary while letting them know you just want to be friends not enemies. As wierd and awkward as it sounds ive found it to be very effective. Again don't squeeze them to death or hurt them just a firm enough grip to let them know you're in control and keep them from escaping your hand followed with a talk and some gentleness. It sounds cruel but nature has a system and if we don't understand it it makes both the pet and the owner struggle. P.S she's grooming my mustache currently. It's a very delicate balance that works as long as you do it in the way another animal would naturally do it. Establish boundaries, don't let them Chace and bite you Also "ears up while biting aggressively is a stong sign of dominance" it's not a natural behavior and will eventually happen to the other mice with her. If they chase and bite hard enough to draw blood it's a territorial act. If they back away and lightly nip it's a warning to respect their boundary wich you should in that case. Understanding your mice/Rats body language and setting boundaries is important to keeping them happy and healthy!
Hi! So i had two albino mice and my other one had died yesterday and after she died my mouse has been sleeping a lot, her fur sticking out, her eyes also being tired like and also her tooth is sticking out and its been like that before my other one died and im super worried since she was the first mouse i got so should i take her to the vet?
I have two little mice named pipsqueak and buttercup, both female. They both have different personalities which I love and one of them is really cuddly. ❤❤ I am going to get a bigger cage at some point and adopt another female so when they do die, they won't be on their own.
I've personally owned 6 mice so far, and every time one dies I need another one, they're so fun to have and their energy levels just cheer me up so much, I've only owned male mice so far, only a few has been tame, only 1 was so tame I could hold him and such. But whether or not they're into being handled I love them all the same and their curious and energetic nature is so special to me, I might end up owning mice my whole life ♥ and their odor is not something that bothers me, when it gets intense it rather motivates me to do some spot cleaning, sure it's powerful but the animal is so worth it every time. I definetly love mice more than hamsters so.. that's something XD
I have pet mice and one got hurt, she got her hip joints fractured, I hope after two months of healing in a nice flat large bin she can be as good at climbing and running as she use to be
I BOUGHT 4 MICE THAT ARE ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS OLD, 1 MALE AND 3 FEMALES, LOVE THEM ALL AND THEY ALL CAME IN DIFFERENT COLORS. BUT DO KNOW HOW I CAN BATTLE THE ODOUR?
I've been trying to find a wire cage that is bigger than 300 square inches for my female mouse ( I'm trying to introduce my other mice to her) If anyone has any recommendations please tell me! I do live in America.
I used to have a bunch of mice when I was a kid. My mom bred mice and she let me have a few. They were absolutely adorable and a couple of the mice I had really liked to cuddle up on my hand and shoulder and sleep there and give me lots and lot of kisses. I already have a few pets but if I had room to get mice I definitely would own mice again.
I have a question about mice I have one white mouse at home but I ran away yesterday and I don't know how to get it because it hides me right away when I want to be arrested, you can somehow help me
I have a pair of females, and one of them is the alpha. They used to get on very well, but recently, my non-dominant mouse has been picking on the dominant one (pushing off wheels, stealing food, shoving, etc). The alpha mouse is about 9 months older and very gentle and sweet, and does not like fighting. What should I do?
All of my mice I got as babies two of them are pretty affectionate and all come onto my hand whereas my other one is super skittish but is okay being handled but any small noise triggers him
It depends on where you get the from. If u get them from a pet store the say they will last a year or two but they usually will only last a few monthes

My mouse loves being handled he just climes right on my hand!
I love u sooo much! I have been waiting for your next video checking my phone loads lol 😂 ❤️💜💙
Every Sunday at 5pm U.K. time! 💖
Yay you replied, u r my favourite TH-cam and you made me fall in love with mice and rats! 💙
I love my mice and ASF. My only negative is that their life expectency is so short. I have 3 males (all in seperate enclosures) and they're really sweet too... I do have a lot of work because of their marking smell. But I have litter under their bedding and I change their enclosures quite often.
I just got a new mouse(a male) and he is the most cuddly and friendly mouse I've ever seen. He would sit with for hours.
This is a very nice video :D
I personally never owned mice and sadly wont be able to in the future but ive had rats, gerbils and other rodents etc. in the past.
Do mice make good pets?
Me: 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ LET ME TELL YOU. 😅🐭♥️

I want like 50 mice and rats there so adorable omg omg omg I would die for them
I already have two dogs and a rabbit but I want more pets but my parents would never let me
:(. So imma get one when I move out make them love the mouse the take it
I have been exploring potential rodents as pets.
I like watching your mice running around in the background. *noom*
Luv’d the video
I have two little mice named pipsqueak and buttercup, both female. They both have different personalities which I love and one of them is really cuddly. ❤❤ I am going to get a bigger cage at some point and adopt another female so when they do die, they won't be on their own.
Personally I loved my old mice but I prefer rats for myself as they are easier to play with and bigger
I definetly love mice more than hamsters so.. that's something XD
this is good and helpful for me thank you
I have pet mice and one got hurt, she got her hip joints fractured, I hope after two months of healing in a nice flat large bin she can be as good at climbing and running as she use to be
I BOUGHT 4 MICE THAT ARE ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS OLD, 1 MALE AND 3 FEMALES, LOVE THEM ALL AND THEY ALL CAME IN DIFFERENT COLORS. BUT DO KNOW HOW I CAN BATTLE THE ODOUR?

*Yes.*
Right, that's the end of the video, don't forget to subscribe.
Emilogy, you should do a how to bond with your rats video!🐀❤️
Early 😂 love this vid
Can you do an update on your new rats . And I also got rats after having girbles but they are still shy

I have a question about mice I have one white mouse at home but I ran away yesterday and I don't know how to get it because it hides me right away when I want to be arrested, you can somehow help me
I own hamsters so I don’t even know why I’m binge watching mouse care videos
I’m really surprised so many people like rats and mice. As someone who hates them your videos have really showed me a different side to them
Omg i love my mice so so much
The cage I was planning on getting a cage about half the size of your detolf
Can you make a video about a mouses diet, and how often they should be fed?🍪
I have a pair of females, and one of them is the alpha. They used to get on very well, but recently, my non-dominant mouse has been picking on the dominant one (pushing off wheels, stealing food, shoving, etc). The alpha mouse is about 9 months older and very gentle and sweet, and does not like fighting. What should I do?
I am getting 3 pet fancy mice when lookdown is over
I hade three mice they were born together and just yesterday one of them died
RIP cookie
Rip cookie 🍪🐭 😖
All of my mice I got as babies two of them are pretty affectionate and all come onto my hand whereas my other one is super skittish but is okay being handled but any small noise triggers him
Hi I loved it so much but can I ask if you know for how long mice live as pets please?
It depends on where you get the from. If u get them from a pet store the say they will last a year or two but they usually will only last a few monthes
Oh! That is actually so sad! So is probably better me to change idea! 😔
I talk about this in the video ☺️
Mice are nice
Where’s your headband from?😍
Primark ☺️
