I love the Tour de France, one of my favorite events. Really enjoyed the everyday scenes in Italy, wonderful architecture. You had a black and white short video so someone walking in the rain, that was beautiful. I would have been doing a lot of BW photographs in that spot, gorgeous looking. And of course the holding up the Tower of Pisa picture, it is a requirement. That first record store was awesome. I was surprised by a sign in English on a turntable
Oh wow… wow, wow, wow… wow! That Move On place was amazing looking. Wish I had floors like that. Sleeve place looked cool as well. And then all the gorgeous italian picture postcards like photos. Thank you Brian 😊
Wow the first store has its own OBI strip! A GNR Locked and Loaded Box Set sitting in the window!😮 Cool, a public play station! When I was on the Island of Rarotonga (population 14,000) in the Cook Islands there was a cafe with a system set up and a few hundred records for the patrons to pull from. It was very cool. Glad you’re having a great trip, Brian!
I didn't buy the GnR box - no room in the luggage. The big issue is the exchange rate between the Euro and the Canadian dollar. It is a disincentive to buy anything . . .

It's been fabulous, apart from the heat, which is really oppressive. We do have AC in the place we are staying, thankfully. I ran out of time for other stores, it seems, but I was happy to be able to see a small sample!
Love the architecture! We learn two things in this video. Brian obviously loves trains. And even a self proclaimed “Mr Alternative “ can’t resist the corny leaning tower photo op😁👍
Europe made me love trains. Last time we were there, we took trains everywhere. I never had a train set as a kid, so maybe that's why I like them now. In a later photo, I pushed the tower over 🙂 But, I suppose that is also corny!
@@EmbryonicRobot In st Petersburg was cocktail bar & record store together... and in Amsterdam pub and fishing gear store in same room. That was wild, when people were testing fishing rods just next to you drinking beer.

Brian, not many stores have a separate African Head Charge section, that is a very good omen. Wow, the Florence and Pisa pics and vids were just exactly perfect, great selection of images to create the experience of ''Being There''. The Mediterranean Sun really makes those colors more vivid, making wonderful things, even more wonderful. However, I also enjoyed the solitary man turning the corner, holding an umbrella during a rainstorm, as we know, '' a little rain must fall''. Good job holding up the Tower!
I think you are right about most stores not having a separate African Head Charge section! Seeing the tower in Pisa in person for the first time was quite an experience. The rain was torrential for a few minutes, but that was the only weather issue ... Well, it is insanely hot here in Rome, but we will survive!
Me and my wife have taken almost that very same trip to Florence and Pisa/Marina Di Pisa in 2018, and we've loved it. I wasn't into vinyl records back then, but by watching your Vlog videos I now realize this city is fulfilled with some cool places to go record shopping. Have a nice time, Brian, Cheers
Those early trading family houses built like fortresses! I know that feeling Brian, you make all that effort having come from afar and the place is closed! Congratulations you have reached Rock bottom, great looking rummage. The Pub/café vinyl boutique is becoming a regular feature now in towns n cities. Lovely site, I am just waiting now for the first one to do foot massage as well! Its a great way to explore the culture of the place and indulge in a bit of a rummage. I love the cardboard separators in Sleeve. Thanks for showing us about 👍
I guess getting a foot massage and a drink after record shopping would be pretty interesting. I should have gone to Rock Bottom last, because I think I was carefully choosing, thinking that something better might come along.

I enjoyed the video and photos of Florence and did recognize a few places. We never made it to a record store while we were there. We did make quite a few gelato stops and love the fruit flavors.
I can tell you, just from the little of the record stores you showed, that I would have spent so much money that I wouldn't be able to afford to return home. Some great shots and video, Brian. I especially liked the brief, atmospheric photo of the rain. I hate to tell you this, but some of the pictures you took of that tower looked crooked. It almost appeared as if the tower was leaning! My cousin speaks Italian so handy when we went there with her as the train started going somewhere else we'd never have known. Thanks for making the effort I am way to lazy to edit my videos.
Maybe it would have been more of an adventure to end up where you didn't plan to go? Editing can be time-consuming, so I normally stick with the talking head routine. Sometimes I need to do something different, but I am never sure if it is worth the effort 😶
I didn't get a chance to visit any record stores in Italy back in April, although I do still have some Italo-disco singles/albums on my want list and what better country to find them, right?! I did visit a store while in Greece (Athens) because it was on my bucket list. And it's on my new video!
Nice footage Brian. We did Verona, Venice and Florence over a week a few years ago but didn't get to Pisa. You must have got there early in some of those shots of Florence to avoid the crowds...

I was looking for some Cale soundtracks that I only have on vinyl, but I came up empty. It was worth a shot. The first track is Durutti Column (Requiem for a Father), followed by Elegia by New Order 🙂

I love those naked Italian statues - bunch of hotties everywhere. That river was muddy. It rained but then the skies are crystal clear again - lucky. You held up Pisa Tower. Thank you!!!

You may see my fine shades this summer. They are really from last year's fashion collection. Because of the terrible Canadian exchange rate, prices were stupid. It helped me to spend less.
So cool seeing little shops overseas. Gotta say, I'm not a fan of the background "music" chosen at all. Even my oldest son walked thru, and after a few moments, said "what is that? So irritating" - ha ha

I just used the magic eraser to eliminate much of the crowds 😀 But, really, there were insane crowds almost everywhere, except on the side streets.
