More college students drop-out of organic chemistry than any other course; it has a 24-30% drop/failure rate.
It's also considered a "weeder" course for many as stundents oftern change their major because of the series of classes and labs in "O" chem.

So from what you said earlier butane is more stable than propane based on it is a larger molecule? I use both in camp stoves and the butane is more expensive and does seem to have a better looking blue flame.
