I turned 100 y/o last summer. Been an engineer for ~~ 80 years. Have used periodic table all this time. In college the chemistry dept tried to teach us about it. The professors always focused on how clever they were to actually understand the p.t. The most important thing we needed to understand was how smart the professor was. This presentation is so much better. It is all about what is this and how to use it. What a wonderful tool you just added to my tool box. Thanks.

Jason; the John Dewey of our day! I have never ever met a educator like Jason in all my life. I did engineering to masters level and got a pretty good understanding of applied maths on top of engineerring stuff..calculus and all that abstract stuff, but I keep coming to Jason to try and understand how to communicate. I award Jason 2023 Nobel Prize for Teachers/Lecturers.

This guy is the most elaborate teacher I've heard. He's made chemistry feel so simple and easy, unlike the reality in our schools. Just turning 50 and just easily understood this basic on science in the few minutes of listening to him, something I failed to figure out in my entire school years.

I so wish this would have been my first chemistry course; it would have saved me hours of study and increased the class average by several points. Not everyone is gifted to transfer what they know, sadly. This man seems to have that gift.

I want to thank you for posting this information and sharing your knowledge with the world. When I was in high school I had an interest in chemistry but was distracted by other things. Now as an adult nearing 30, I have a chance to make up for that lost opportunity. I’ve shown my 7 year old son your videos and we’ve watched them together, sparking an early interest within the next generation-and that’s something that is INDISPENSABLE! Course I had to check in and slap that like button as EVERYONE needs to do! Do it now ppl! Content creators work hard making this content available.
I absolutely vouch for the chemistry vids as it's a field that can be daunting in college and for it to be presented in such a easy to understand way with images and examples can prove invaluable. 🙌

I was gifted a Mobius strip chart of the elements. It was in the 70's (middle) I was a professor and instructor (2 jobs two schools) and the Chief of Chemistry of DOW Chemical came up with it as it fit the rare earth into the Periodic Table. When I got it I gifted my neighbor, the Chem teacher and she was beside herself. It went up on the wall near the 'standard table provided by the school. Chem II was an Honor class and they also enjoyed the concept. I've never have seen another and often looked. I have a nice chart in a picture frame on my office wall at home. Now retired Sr. Scientists Physics and Electronic Engineering. My chart is 2 years old. I'm 76.

    Good job, man!
As I watched, I thought, aha, you have not thought of such-and-such, now that's not very good is it?
But then you covered the such-and-such thing I was (in my great ignorance) thinking of.
As the minutes went by, i realized that rather than neglecting to note the such-and-such things, you had in fact factored them in and decided to cover them later in this video or to mention that they'd appear at an appropriate time in the future.
From a guy who has not attended a chemistry class since his middle school days, and who is now 50 something, thank you, I will watch again.
If I may, though, rude as it may seem....
You could have slowed down a little, say, about 20%, and covered the material in a slightly longer video, allowing those of us who have not had such a lesson in decades to absorb a little of what you said before rushing headlong (enthusiastically) to the next point.
That may, in fairness, just be down to my being slower than I would like to think I am.

I love your passionate approach to chemistry. You obviously love teaching. I'm confused. Elements have no personality so they don't like anything but I don't think they want to do anything either. To me, 'liking' and 'wanting' are the same. Are you saying that, due to natural forces, that is what chemicals do? They tend to loose and gain electrons?
