The Recon 1 is the epitome of a tactical folder. Strong solid G10 slabs, Sharp properly heat treated blade and a strong lock. If I could only grab one blade on my way out the house and into a shit storm, the Recon 1 would be it.
Have both, love them❤ both have their place in the world...

Evidently I’m “Bass Ackwards” I have the flat ground AD10 and Canadian XHP version of the Recon 1. You gave me an excuse to dig them out and play as I watched you video... Here’s to Cold Steel...Cheers!
As nice as the AD10 is, The Recon 1 is superior in every way for MOST cutting task IMO. Thanks for posting

That Recon 1 is a sweet looker, and it's been on my list for a while. I have the AD10 and I like it, it's a beast. I can't wait to get my hands on my very own R1, have a nice week!
With Senor Espada's permission, I would like to comment. This video is very apropos. I have for about a month the Recon1 from Snaggletooth Tactical. I installed their Snaggletooth and cog ring. I carry it clipless and it deploys perfectly in a reverse grip. I agree the Recon1 was super easy to take apart, and add these mods to.

I picked up a clip for my AD10 on Etsy I believe, recommended by another knife reviewer
I tend to like liners more than G10 without liners because I think it makes the handle sturdier. That should be true with steel liners. What about with aluminum liners? I don't know. I should have bought one a couple years ago when they were selling for $73.
